The action happened just 3 minutes into the match, Messi cut inside from the right wing and when he was about to finish with his magnificent play, he hit against Las Palmas defender Pedro Bigas’ foot.
The number ten of Barcelona was in intense pain and the doctor Ricard Pruna got onto the pitch to try to diminish it. Despite this, Messi had to be attended out of the pitch although things didn’t get better, as he came back to the play area walking but with some doubts about it. He tried doing some runs, moving his knee, but the pain was still there and he asked to be replaced. Munir El Haddadi, 20, occupied his position.
After an initial inspection in the dressing room, Messi was taken to the nearby Creu Blanca hospital. He stayed there until 17:15, where he left limping a little and with a serious expression.
After Barça’s communicate informing about the seriousness of Messi’s injury, one of the major doubts is if the Argentinean will be able to play against Real Madrid at Bernabeu on the 21st of November. Although nobody doubts that, without him, the club is going to have more difficulties to win their upcoming matches.
