Seth Grahame-Smith is currently in talks to helm Warner Bros’ The Flash. According to Hollywood Reporter, Grahame-Smith is also set to write the screenplay for the movie.
Grahame-Smith’s credits include the screenplays for 2012’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Dark Shadows. He also has directing credits for two episodes of MTV’s The Hard Times of RJ Berger, which he co-created.
The Flash, which has no ties to the television series, comes as the sixth installment in DC’s film universe. The treatment for the film was written by The Lego Movie directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Lord and Miller were in talks to possibly direct the film as well, but they are now directing the Han Solo Star Wars movie for Disney.
Ezra Miller will be playing the titular character as Barry Allen. Miller’s first appearance as Barry Allen/The Flash in the DC film universe is set to be in Warner Bros. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it comes out March 25, 2016. Miller will also appear as The Flash in Warner’s Justice League – Part 1, in which he will have more of a prominent role.
Charles Roven is producing the film, with Deborah Snyder and Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder executive producing. Warner Bros. currently has set The Flash for March 3, 2018.
