British producer Alex Da Kid broke out into the music scene in a big way by creating two back to back number 1 singles in BoB’s chart topper “Airplanes Part 2” and Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie”. But his chart making success didn’t stop there as Alex Da Kid has gone on to produce tracks for artists like Imagine Dragon’s, Skylar Grey, Dr Dre, Lupe Fiasco, Nicki Minaj and many more.
Now residing in Los Angeles, Alex was named as one of London’s most influential people in 2011 by The Evening Standard. He has been nominated for numerous Grammy’s including ‘Album Of The Year’ for Rihanna’s record “Loud”. In both 2013 and 2014 Alex Da Kid was named by Billboard magazine as their ‘top 40 under 40’. Alex Da Kid’s production discography is endless and has with out a doubt made him the hottest producer over the last 10 years.
Now he’s set to dominate music as an artist and recently released his debut single “Not Easy” featuring X Ambassadors, Elle King and Wiz Khalifa. Alex recently spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about the new song saying “By definition, my role as a producer is always collaborative, I knew that when I put out my first single as an artist, I’d want to collaborate with an unexpected combination of amazing talent, so Wiz, Elle, and X Ambassadors were perfect. We each brought very different perspectives and life experience to the song and the subject of heartbreak, which is what I think makes the track work so well.”
Like so many singles of his before there is no doubt in my mind “Not Easy” will easily bullet to number 1 in no time at all. The song is available on ITunes now.
