New trailer for The Revenant released

An official trailer for Leonardo DiCaprio‘s The Revenant has been released by 20th Century Fox.

The film which is based off Michael Punke‘s novel, The Revenant, has been gaining a lot traction for stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, with many stating that this may be the film to finally earn DiCaprio his first Academy Award.

Per 20th Century Fox, “Inspired by true events, in an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by his hunting team. In order to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as betrayal by confidant, John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.”

Notoriously the film has made a lot of headlines, mainly due to the harsh weather conditions in which the film was shot in. This was also the film that caused Tom Hardy to drop out of Warner Bros. Suicide Squad. 

The film was directed by Academy-Award winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Oscar winner for this years Birdman) with a screenplay written by Mark L. Smith and Iñárritu. The film also stars Domhnall Gleeson as Andrey Henry and Will Poulter as Jim Bridger. With Arnon Milchan, Steve Golin, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Mary Parent, James W. Skotchdopole, and Keith Redmon producing

20th Century Fox has given The Revenant a December 25th limited release and a January 8, 2016 wide release.
