Spider-Man Shifts Release Dates

Get ready web-heads, because your favorite wall-crawler is coming to theaters sooner than you expected.

Sony Pictures recently revealed changes to their upcoming release schedule, announcing, among other things, that the (currently untitled) Spider-Man film will now be released on July 7, 2017, rather than the originally planned July 28, 2017. Taking it’s original place will be the company’s Jumanji reboot, itself originally scheduled for Christmas Day that same year.

Before Spider-Man arrives in theaters in his new solo movie, the character will first appear in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, scheduled for release on  May 6, 2016.

More release date updates:

Disney is also shifting some of their films’ release dates. The highly anticipated sequel Star Wars: Episode VIII has been moved from its May 26, 2017, release date to December 15, 2017. The studio is also pushing up the release of its other sequel film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales to May 26, 2017, originally scheduled for July 7, 2017.
