INsiders Guide: Julius Cowdrey, Dani Le Rose, *repeat repeat, Rhymes Band ft. Summer Dennis and KYOSi

Julius Cowdrey is a British singer/songwriter from Kent, England. Despite coming from a famous sporting background where his father and grandfather both captained the England cricket team, Julius discovered his talent and love for music at a very young age whilst singing in school choirs and concerts and quickly immersed himself into his passion. Known also for his role as one of the star performers in award-winning reality TV series Made In Chelsea, Cowdrey eventually left the show to focus on his true ambition and has since been making a name for himself as an artist. Inspired by the likes of Elton John, Coldplay and James Blake, Cowdrey is following the legacy of British talent.

Cowdrey’s new releases mirror genuine moments of love and loss. With both singles narrating a difficult time in his life, they express the feelings of being let down by the ones you loved and trusted the most. Sonically the songs contradict the theme of the music, turning into positive and uplifting anthems. Cowdrey confides, “I have been heartbroken not just by the music industry but also by the girl I thought was the love of my life and I am proud to say I have come out on the other side a stronger and more mature individual”. The songwriter hopes that his music will remind others that when times get hard, they are not alone.

‘If This Is Love Then I Must Hate You’ was produced by Benji Totten (Jorja Smith, Kate Stewart, Sasha Keable) and co-written with Jack Hawitt (Zak Abel, Karen Harding, Blue, Embody). The single is the result of not wanting to write another song about a girl. Disguised as a story of heartbreak, the track eludes to the music industry and the sharks that swim in the muddy waters. Highlighting passionate vocals, introspective lyrics and glowing percussion, the stunning track is emotionally charged. ‘Better Day’ is seemingly inspired about an ex. Cowdrey confesses, “I never expected it to happen, but I got cheated on. I lived trusting her every action and without my knowing I became victim to huge disloyalty”. Showing his disbelief he sings, “I guess angels can walk on the dark side”. ‘Better Day’ showcases Cowdrey’s silken falsetto which glides gently atop the delicate piano. With layered ethereal synths, the song builds into an anthemic chorus, delivering an honest and compelling release.

Splitting his time between London and Los Angeles, Cowdrey has performed at prestigious venues around the world, including the legendary Hotel Cafe in Hollywood and London’s famous nightclub, Mahiki. The musician has seen success with his first single ‘7 Roads (I See You)’ going straight to No.1 in the iTunes singer/songwriter charts and amassing over one million streams on Spotify alone. Julius Cowdrey continues to enthral audiences worldwide with ‘If This Is Love Then I Must Hate You’ and ‘Better Day’ currently available worldwide.

“The Maze (Feeling That Feeling Without You)” is the brand new single from singer Dani Le Rose. It’s a song that represents the feeling of self-confidence and not needing assurance from anyone else.  On the song Dani says “When creating “The Maze”, I wanted the feeling of the song to represent self-awareness of my worth as an artist and as a human being. I got over trying to be cool. The moment I let that all go, the real magic happened. Sometimes life can be a struggle and seem like we are wandering in a maze. On many levels, this track represents self-discovery and what can happen when you follow your instincts”.

*repeat repeat have released their new single, “Pressure,” the third track released from the band’s new studio album, “Glazed” ,to be released on May 31st via Dangerbird Records. The band says, “’Pressure’ faces the squeeze of day-to-day expectations and the constructs of society from a hopeful place. Everything feels rushed. Everything needed to happen yesterday. Everything costs all the money. It’s a perspective on responsibilities and frenetic energy in the digital age.”

*repeat repeat delivers a batch of songs entirely true to the album’s title: sugary and sticky and impossibly shiny, all glistening harmonies and candy-coated hooks. But beneath the gloss lies something more jarring and jagged, a raw vitality generated by the Nashville band’s buzzy rhythms and blistering guitar work. Fortified by the distinct creative alliance of husband-and-wife duo Jared and Kristyn Corder, the result is an album that finds an unlikely power in irrepressible sweetness.
