INsiders Guide: KT Tunstall, Lauren Duski, Dirty Honey, Samuel Jack, Jamie Alimorad and Kane Incognito

Brit and Ivor Novello Award-winning artist KT Tunstall is thrilled to unveil an orchestral remix of her single “Little Red Thread” with video. The immediately engaging opening track of KT Tunstall’s 2018 full length offering WAX gets an impressive orchestral makeover with Matthew Sheeran’s Remix, employing The Budapest Scoring Orchestra to accompany KT’s gritty and impassioned vocals. Still delivering the same lyrical punch, this remix is a sparse yet rich re-imagining of one of WAX’s most arresting tracks. KT explains: “It took my breath away when I heard the orchestra playing with just my vocals on top for the first time. There is such a specific feeling when you hear orchestral strings; you are immediately transported, transfixed, and swept up on whatever wave they decide you should ride. The emotion they provide sits so perfectly with the essence of this track, all the while the strings mirroring the little red threads.”

Nashville’s country singer songwriter, Lauren Duski’s is thrilled to unveil the music video to her single “The Weather.” Lauren wrote, directed, filmed, and edited this video on her own. The video is all about her grandfather losing his love of her life, her grandmother and showcasing the raw footage of their love they had for each other.

“The Weather” is off her debut EP, Midwestern Girl that charted at #26 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart and #47 on Billboard’s Independent Chart. Midwestern Girl is out now. The EP has received tons of press raves from Rolling Stone Country, People Mag, Billboard, TIME, and Ones To Watch just to name a few. “Costume Party” was Lauren’s first debut single since her appearance on NBC’s The Voice where she finished up as runner up on Season 12. The video has taken off and has inspired her fans to make their own videos sharing their stories and vulnerability. Once Lauren saw the impact the song was making with her fans she wanted to combine all the videos together to make this touching music video. It charted in 13 countries and found it’s place at #43 on Spotify’s US Viral chart. With no help from anyone but the connection to her fans.

Samuel Jack is a unique and emotive storyteller whose rugged soulful vocals command the room. Raised on Blues, Motown, soul and roots music, the London born singer spent his formative years in Johannesburg with his Father, a film director. The rich fabric of his childhood informs and oozes into the music he creates today which has been resonating with audiences across the globe. Jack proceeds to showcase his own brand of contemporary soul and authentic songwriting, covering themes from love and pain, to occasionally even politics. Everything he sings is from the heart, about that moment in his life and the journey he is on, allowing audiences to connect to the musician on deeper levels. Jack confesses how writing for him is a form of therapy and that honesty plays a key role throughout his songwriting.

His broad musical palette and undeniable talent is evident in his highly anticipated album which is due later this year. The album narrates the struggles with inner demons, the turbulence of family and relationships, the desire and want for something or someone and how music helps to build bridges and establish new relationships. There’s anthems, there’s ballads and there’s some heavy hitters. Jack expresses, “I listen to all sorts of music, but there is something about Rhythm’n’Blues, about Soul, about Gospel that just gets into my veins. The history of it all, the hurt, the pain, the joy, the sex. And when those emotions are delivered by a voice that really means it, i just feel like there can’t be a better way to express yourself”.

Leading single ‘Feels Like Summer’ emits a summery and feel good vibe through its use of stomping percussion, anthemic melodies and bright brass. Highlighting Jack’s powerful gravelly vocals and passionate lyricism, the single bursts with vibrancy, all consumed by shimmering soundscapes. Lyrically, ‘Feels Like Summer’ centres around celebrating the good times and how something can make you feel alive and ultimately wishing you could live in that moment forever. Jack reveals, “There’s definitely a sense of nostalgia about the whole song. I wrote it at a time when I needed those good times to see me through some stuff. Music can totally transcend time and space and take you to all sorts of places when you’re not exactly where you want to be. That’s what this song is for me. It takes me back, it takes me forward, it takes me through”.

Acclaimed songwriter Jamie Alimorad returns with his much anticipated new album This Is Tomorrow Calling, out September 2019. Produced by Grammy Nominees Gino Vannelli and Ross Vannelli (Richard Marx, Jennifer Holliday, The Hollies, Earth Wind and Fire, Lara Fabian, Celine Dion) the album is comprised of 10 vocal-centric tracks mostly written by Alimorad, but also including his rendition of Gino Vannelli’s single “Rock Me To Heaven” and “How Could I Love Again”, which was also penned by Vannelli. With various influences, including Sting, Bread, Toto, and Kenny Loggins, This Is Tomorrow Calling exhumes Alimorad’s years of growth and experiences in music that lead him to the developed songwriter he is today.

An overall process that took nearly four years to conceptualize, Jamie Alimorad wrote over three dozen songs for the record. Narrowing it down to 10, Alimorad created singular stories that were only enhanced by his vocal depths. The first single “Not Ready To Say Goodbye” introduces this record with a seductive sound accompanying the tale of a fleeting romance and the unwillingness to let go.

Reflecting on the record, Alimorad says, “This Is Tomorrow Calling is more than an album, it’s my story. A boy becoming a man, and adapting to an ever-changing world, with hope for his future.”

Hailing from the stark, prairie metropolis of Edmonton, Alberta, Kane Incognito is the dynamic brainchild of Eric Kane Cherrington. After the loss of his brother and No Heat Tomorrow bandmate, Keeth Cherrington, Eric Kane, turned to music and formed Kane Incognito with his cousins, Austin and Braydon Shaw and childhood friend, Stephen Schoenthaler. The result is a deep blend of folk and rock music that is best described as the love child of Mumford & Sons and Kaleo.

Their first single, ‘Young & Able’ was released in June of 2017 and hit number eight on the iTunes Rock Charts and was nominated for ‘Rock Recording of the Year’ at the Edmonton Music Awards. The band released their debut album Brother in October of 2017.

They released their next single, ‘Diagnose Me’ in June of 2018 and it was met with stellar reviews from Pure Grain Audio, Canadian Beats Media, Turn Up The Volume! and recently just got nominated for “Indie Rock Recording of the Year” at the Edmonton Music Awards.

The band has played several music festivals including Seven Music Festival and Wild Mountain Music Festival, and has opened for a string of popular artists including Hey Ocean!, Elle King, Banners, Carmanah, Twin Bandit, The Blue Stones, and Grandson.

They’re now excited to announce their latest release entitled “The Breakaway”, which is a heavy hitting rock song with a country twang and bluesy vocals.
