Past singles have been praised by American Songwriter, Lyrical Lemonade, PopCrave. Factor in 2.9M global streams independently, placements on Apple Music’s “New Music Daily”, “In My Room”, “Today At Apple” and ”Date Night” playlists, and Spotify’s “Fresh Finds: The Wave” it’s clear that Devin Kennedy is set to make a memorable breakthrough into the pop world.

It’s loose change, so pick it up!

Hi Devin and welcome back to OLC! How have you been and have you been staying safe?

Hello! I’m well, I’ve been spending a lot of time at home writing music and hanging with family.

Now you’ve got a brand new single out called “Loose Change”, what’s it about and what inspired it?

I wrote this one about professionally overthinking. I always get in my head about work, relationships..etc. and it’s not good for my self-worth to constantly analyze every part of my life.

Will there be an accompanying video for the song?

Yes! I’m excited about this video. It’s very retro.

Who helped you work on the single?

I wrote and produced this one with a talented friend of mine, Hero DeLano. He played some awesome piano and bass on this one as well.

Do you find there are producers or writers you like to work with more because you vibe better?

Absolutely. For the last couple of years I’ve kept my circle super big and I’ve met a ton of talented people, but in the end, like you said, it’s all about the vibe. Some people have a better idea of what I’m looking for than others.

Is there any producers or writers you’d love to work with, and why?

So many. I’d love to work with musicians musicians. Artists and producers that everyone in the industry looks up to. John Mayer, Jon Bellion, Joji.. to name a few.

2020 has been a pretty sucky year, but is there anything you’ve been looking forward too? And have you got anything special planned for 2021, maybe an EP or something?

I’m looking forward to writing a lot through the end of the year and continuing to drop stuff in the start of 2021. I do have plans for a new project, whether it’s an EP/Album…not sure yet.

I assume you hope to hit the road some time soon? Is there anywhere you’d like to perform in particular?

Yes playing some shows sounds real nice right about now, looking forward to the day we can all get together and enjoy that. An LA show would be awesome, but I’d really love to get across the US and play in a bunch of different cities. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Is there any artists your fans would be surprised to see on your playlist?

My playlist will jump from The Weeknd to Dan & Shay to Katy Perry: Teenage Dream, so I think everyone would be a bit surprised if they listened through my playlist.

Have you seen any good shows or movies while we were all locked down? Are you a movie or TV buff?

I love watching TV to unwind at the end of the day, but I wouldn’t call myself a TV buff. I’m more of a mindless TV watcher because it helps me turn my brain off after a long day of thinking. But I’ve been loving the new Apple show “Ted Lasso”…highly recommend.

Thanks for stopping by Devin it’s always a pleasure having you here, but before you go is there anything you’d love to tell all your fans out there in OLC! world?

“Loose Change” is out now and I love you all! Thank you OLC for having me, a pleasure as always.
