Ekelle is a multi-genre artist and songwriter from Toronto. Ekelle rhymes about what she knows best: her real-life experience! Money, sex, drama and identity stir together to create a style that she calls Hood Pop – Popular music with a street edge. Hood Pop combines elements of hip hop, pop music and R&B. Ekelle hopes that the honesty in her music will motivate others to share their stories too and to never give up. At the beginning stages of her career she thought she just had to pick one genre to work with which was hard for her because so many different styles gave her inspiration. Ekelle has since then branched out and decided to carve out her own sound that represents her eclectic tastes and interests. Ekelle loves to candidly rap out her real lived experience and/or play with metaphor and simile as she sings. She puts her songs together with dreamy soundscapes and hard hitting beats that can turn up any party! Noticing a void in the music scene, Ekelle found that no one artist was telling a story that she could fully relate to. Mear is an indie pop collaboration between singer-songwriter Frances Miller and electronic composer Greg Harrison. Together, their music combines catchy melodies and poignant lyrics with their shared love of experimental music. Miller and Harrison met while working at the music venue Massey Hall in Toronto and began collaborating shortly thereafter by sending tracks back and forth over social media. Their debut single “Perfect Mess” was featured by The East, edm joy, and OMGblog and was selected by CBC Music as a “Song you need to hear this week.” Mear has received funding assistance from The Canada Council for the Arts and FACTOR and is set to release their first full-length album in early Spring, 2021.
Leila couldn’t be further from your typical indie artist. Hailing from Neverheardofit Pennsylvania, her sound and lyrics carry their humble roots. A little Jazz, a little soul, a hint of strange and three shots of romance will keep this spellbinding cocktail of uncanny ballads in your head forever. Having grown up playing piano, singing, and dancing in recitals and competitions she was exposed to the industry at an early age, setting the stage for this artistic endeavor. Her love for Chopin and Debussy heavily influences her songwriting, infusing her sound with a musical maturity and sophistication.
Primarily inspired by late romantic classical composers and vintage Italian film scores, Leila describes her sound as “Subtle Freak Hawaiian Prom.” A syrupy vocal and hypnotic wave of guitars wash you away from wherever you’re sitting and into a velvet armchair at a sparkling B-list dinner party.
All songs, artwork, and music videos are painstakingly created by the artist herself by way of a full time career in software engineering. Her sheer determination is the driving force behind her upcoming debut album Glass Highways. Produced with Tim Carr (The Americans, Fell Runner), the ten-track release is a breakup album exploring the stages of romantic loss. Beginning with doubt and moving all the way through to reflection. Leila confides, “I tried not to be too prescriptive in my lyrics, but rather acknowledge the varied and at times dissonant emotions we face amidst heartbreak.”
Glass Highways is a vocal-heavy album, featuring bittersweet lyrics, inviting the listener to consider the dark and light of life in tandem, adding candor and humility to Leila’s story. Thematically, the album is romantic and lush, consisting of long, dramatic songs oozing with cinematic flair. The songwriter reveals, “During production of my songs, I try to feel like I’m enveloped by them. I want them to wrap me in sound and feeling, as if pulling me into a daydream, or LeilaLand, for that matter.”
Upon moving to LA, Leila joined the Angel City Chorale touring England and ultimately performing with the London Philharmonic and recording at Abbey Road Studios. While singing in this choir, she began writing and producing original songs, many of which are included in Glass Highways.

York, PA-based alt. rock/emo/pop-punk songwriter/guitarist Darro is set to release Songs of Recovery, an album that deals with his diagnosis, surgery, and recovery from a brain tumor.
“Each song from Songs of Recovery deals with a different situation dealing with my brain tumor,” Darro says of the album. “Sometimes it’s an angst-filled song commenting about how people think I’m fine because I appear physically healthy, or that I still get panic attacks just from walking down the street. Whatever the case is, each song is essentially dealing with PTSD or something that’s affected the last 9 years of my life without my knowledge.”
To say Darro Chea, aka alt/rock songwriter/guitarist,Darro,has faced an uphill battle would be an understatement. Three days after returning to the U.S. from grad school abroad, the Asian American musician and producer was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The rehabilitation process sent him back to square one, having to learn to speak, chew, and sing all over again. Telling his story through music, Darro was featured on Billboard for his video, “You’re Not Insane,” and continues to share more music based on his experiences, including his upcoming full-length album, Songs of Recovery.
Born from the hardships of his brain tumor, Songs Of Recovery is a set of originals that address Darro’s journey in powerful, straightforward language that anyone can relate to. Against all odds, he’s come through his ordeal with his sense of self intact.

Ginesse, the project of Los Angeles-based artist and actress Cait Fairbanks, shares her new EP, ‘Somewhere To Die,’ out on all streaming platforms today. ‘Somewhere To Die’ is Ginesse’s debut EP and consists of 5 brand new, previously unreleased songs that were crafted over the course of the past few years with her longtime collaborator, producer Matias Moras (CYN, AU/RA, The Aces). The track gained playlisting on numerous influential and sought-after digital playlists. She also created her own her own weekly lives series, Eleri’s Sunday Sessions, a collaborative stream with artists from across the globe.
“I wanted to do something different with a live stream, that would interest people and be more fun for me. So, I created the Sunday Sessions where I invite another artist to come and perform songs alongside me, then we discuss them, what influences them and check in with their lives. Eager to help others, Eleri has started her own social media company Mondaay Media after growing her audience substantially over the past year, she wanted to help other artists and small businesses thrive. Eleri also joined forces with singer/songwriter Naomi Rae to create Siren Songwriting, a female song writing community based in Cardiff designed to create a safe, collaborative space for women.
2019, was no gap year either as she finally released her debut album Earthbound to critical acclaim. “Eleri Angharad is most certainly one to watch and takes the listener on a rather impressive journey” – (Rebecca Haslam, God is in the TV Zine) and the title track was added to the Welsh A-List on BBC Radio Wales.
BBC Radio Wales’ Eleri Sion felt transported to the music city by exclaiming “Didn’t we step into Nashville there!” Straight after airing it on her daytime show. Eleri Angharad also managed to squeeze in 3 complete tours covering the UK and mainland Europe over 39 dates, two sell out launch parties in Cardiff and Swansea all to support the release. This was following on from her previous success of her first Welsh language single Dal Fi, A-listed on BBC Radio Cymru and her music has also been played on by Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music.
Trash-wave trailblazers, Me Nd Adam, is the depraved result of a relationship between a self-loathing egotist and a boisterous, red-headed emotional wreck. Writer, musician and NHS public health consultant Rob Marr is known for penning thought-provoking songs about everyday life that captivate listeners and pull them into a world all of his own making.
His new project – the fascinating Book of Man – has taken his obsession with writing meaningful lyrics and developed it into a brand-new, feature-length podcast drama, beautifully narrated by BAFTA-winner Josh O’Connor (who stars in the Netflix drama, The Crown). This compelling and innovative take on the podcast intertwines the tragic history of four generations of the fathers and sons of the author’s family with original songs, creating a truly immersive storytelling experience. Its themes of vulnerability, death and partial redemption are particularly relevant to our Covid-affected age, where small actions can have huge consequences, lasting generations.
The leading single from Book of Man is the haunting “Death and Comfort”. Written after experiencing the loss of his father, Marr confides how the song’s bruised, tender purpose wrestles with the moment where his father’s mortality became something to be embraced, even welcomed. The lyrics were partly inspired by a description of Aldous Huxley’s death, written by his wife Laura, from Shaun Usher’s Letters of Note. In “The most beautiful death”, she writes a deeply moving and courageous account of her husband’s final hours. Marr explains, “When I wrote the song I wanted to capture something of the spirit of that letter, to write something that was raw and honest and somehow hopeful.”
Sonically, “Death and Comfort” features warm, echoing piano melodies. The piano is the foundation of Marr’s music, a lifelong musical habit that has brought him huge consolation since learning classical piano as a kid. Recorded with a single microphone in one take, it’s truly a song for our times; an unflinching, tender, sumptuously lo-fi goodbye to a much-loved father and husband.
The devastating “Death and Comfort” is the first release from Marr’s third studio (also titled Book of Man) album that will be available in early 2021. The album is composed of songs written for the podcast. Marr says, “With the album I was trying to write a clutch of songs that covered the full range of emotions and experiences. I once saw a Quentin Blake exhibition at the London School of Illustration, and have never forgotten a sketch that captures a character suspended in mid-air, having just been thrown through a window. The songs are intended to work in the same way – they take a key moment and explode it, examine it in detail, providing an emotional counterpoint to the spare, understated narration.”

Peyton Stilling is carving out a niche as a must-see pop singer-songwriter in the vein of Maggie Rogers, Lianne La Havas and John Mayer. Her seamless blend of soulful vocals, heartrending lyrics and polished pop production results in an infectious sound that’ll keep you coming back for more.

Stilling shares, “If there is anything I learned in 2020, it is that healing takes a long time. I wanted to write a song that made other people going through what I went through not feel as alone.”

This is the first song Michael and I wrote together. I decided to fly him out to Canada to create my new album with me. The recording session began in March, right at the outset of the pandemic. Making a record is normally an isolating experience, but as the world slowly began to shut down, things got increasingly weird! By the second week there were just four of us left and we basically went into self-isolation together.
The recording experience itself was magical, as we approached everything with a very old skool mentality. We already had the orchestral parts down so all we had to capture was the band, and they really took it to the next level. A lot of first takes made this record, and you can hear that authenticity on it.
I escaped from normality to write “Lock and Load,” adopting an alter ego for this track’s dark fantasy of forbidden love and betrayal. Michael and I want you to get lost in fantasy as you listen, just like we did during the writing of this song.

London based artist Delilah Montagu today releases her brand-new single Us.

Devan has been pursuing a music career since she was a kid; the brazen 10-year-old dropped off a homemade demo – to no avail – at the iconic Olympic Studio, home to Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder and David Bowie. Now in 2020, the Toronto-born/London-raised singer-songwriter is gearing up to release her debut solo project.
Leaning into her wildly diverse musical influences thanks to a transatlantic childhood, Devan is creating her own voice by melding together her heroes, including the poetic songwriting of Joni Mitchell and Neil Young; and the pop vocal production of Florence + The Machine, Adele and Amy Winehouse. Her solo debut “Real Shot” has been described as “mesmerizing” (Wonderland), “pure nostalgia wrapped up in notes and lyrics” (Idobi) and “a magnetic tune that understands the gravitational weight of its pull” (Vanyaland); perfectly setting the stage for Devan’s follow up release “Almost feat. Fellow alt-pop singer-songwriter, Corey Harper, has spent the last several years making music and performing on the road in support of artists like Justin Bieber, Julia Michaels, Noah Kahan and Niall Horan. The two met for the first time earlier this year in Los Angeles through mutual friends. “I’ve been a fan of Corey’s music for a long time – he’s got one of my favourite voices,” explains Devan. “The song was originally written on piano, but when we were in the studio, Corey suggested a guitar part that everyone loved so much it ended up becoming the backbone for the song.”

Our new single, “Hopelessly Hoping,” is about those nights spent laying awake in bed picturing life with this person, desperately hoping they feel the same, knowing full well you can’t force someone else’s emotions.
Do you stay up at night and think about me?
Do you toss and you turn ’cause you can’t fall asleep?
To turn it into a duet, we created a story where both people feel the connection, but neither is bold enough to let the other know. Mutually wondering if it’s a hopeless endeavour or something greater. The song ends and we still don’t actually have an answer. We’d like to think that it ends happily and they both figure it out.

Smashed glasses and self-destruction, smeared lipstick and late-night booty calls: welcome to the messy, imperfect, tear-stained, yet darkly glamorous world of bright young thing Liza Owen.
Half Cambodian, half English, Liza Owen spins pop upside down and all around, with defiantly unfiltered lyrics, undeniable melodies and unapologetic grit. Originally breaking into the business writing songs for the likes of Selena Gomez and BTS, this summer she has quietly been putting her very own inimitable stamp on music, first with her fiery debut single “Why Aren’t We Having Sex?” in the summer, and then with her second single “Getting Good”, a grungy, 90s tinged rock beast which explored the lengths we go to lead ourselves down the wrong paths. Hardly the stuff of most lightweight pop confections, one might say.
All of which brings us neatly to her latest single, “Starry Eyed”, a glittery, wildly infectious anthem in waiting in which Owen lists, in unflinching detail, her most self-destructive tendencies before musing on “suicides and strange addictions…shameless is the new religion” over soaring choruses and gloriously sparkly pop hooks. It also comes accompanied by a brilliant black and white video featuring Owen on the back of a motorbike, pushing boundaries while racing towards oblivion. The visual is directed by Dylan Brewer.
Will Powers is the brainchild of songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Oli Palkovits. Oli won the 2019 NOFMA Outstanding Album award for his 2017 self-release Flowers of Atacama. Following the release, he moved to Montreal, where much of the material that would become the Will Powers’ debut EPs was written. He has since moved back to Sudbury and is currently working on several albums with members of Murder Murder and Tommy and the Commies.

Quinn’s Supernova EP is full of dreamy, melancholic vibes with plenty of nostalgia and ghosts of past relationships. While his previous singles ‘Ultraviolet’ and ‘Grapefruit’ examined the end of a relationship, his new single ‘Supernova’ focuses on a new relationship and the feeling of wanting to be someone’s first choice.
“‘Supernova’ on the surface may feel like a pop song about a relationship but when you peel back the layers, you’ll find that it explores uncertainty and fear that your partner might not have the same depth of feeling,” says Quinn. “It’s about how you can project those thoughts and emotions to the point that they manifest themselves into reality, threatening the very thing that you’re trying to hold on to.”
At just 20 years old, Quinn is a young singer-songwriter leading a new generation of artists who are redefining the indie music landscape. Raised in New Westminster, BC, to a musical family of Métis descent, Quinn’s interest and passion for music and songwriting led to the formation of his first band, World Is History, when he was just nine years old.
When he started working on his Supernova EP, Quinn wrote and recorded 15 pre-production demos before choosing the 5 songs that ended up on the EP. Executive produced by Howard Redekopp and produced, mixed and engineered by Stefan Nowarre, Supernova showcases Quinn’s youthful energy and love of classic songwriting, and puts his voice at the centre of it all.
“Although there are some big choruses throughout, it’s the intimate moments in contrast that represent what I wanted the EP to feel like,” says Quinn. “Thematically it’s full of stories and vulnerabilities that I’ve experienced in my life up till now told through the lens of an Alt pop production.”
Moxi, a husband – wife indie pop duo from Los Angeles, is built on the dreamy, introspective vocals of Anna Toy set in a cinematic musical landscape composed by Andy Toy.
Drawing on elements of modern pop and 80’s cinema, Moxi presents Anna’s distinct vocals against a backdrop of dark electronic textures, moody guitar sonics and memorable dreampop melodies.
Moxi’s latest single ‘Blame It’, releasing on Friday, November 13 with CatBeach Music, is “a peek into my brain”, explains Anna. “I tell friends a lot that I wish they could just be in my mind for a second because it’s so insane in there lol. There’s a lot of chaos, self sabotage, weird ideas, and a lot of beautiful things too… It can get very dark but it’s also a lot of fun in there. I wrote this song after a fight with Andy. Almost every fight we have is pretty much caused by me and I’m usually the one who behaves horribly before, during and after. I somehow found an absolute angel to marry who accepts me completely as I am, he doesn’t try to change me, he loves me truly despite how absolutely insane I am. Meanwhile I’m over here picking fights, calling names, throwing tantrums. I’ve been a hostage to the noise in my mind and I’ve also had control over it and it seems to fluctuate still but lately I have more days where it’s the later. Blame It is about the inner dialog that goes on in my mind on a pretty regular basis. I fight the voices to an extent but you gotta keep some of them in for the art. Hold out long enough till I start seeing things again. ‘Blame It’ is a result of that. xx”
With over 200,000 views on their ‘Figures Bathed in Light’ video, Moxi’s other successes to date include over a 1.5 million streams for their single ‘Save Me’, which went viral on Spotify, while also sharing the stage with bands such as Sir Sly, Wildcat! Wildcat and Gungor among others.

As a teenager who dreamed of becoming a professional skateboarder, Amon hit the pavement on the daily. One day, he took a hard fall that left him temporarily immobile. London-born British singer and songwriter, Brooke Law, releases a hard-hitting and highly emotive new single, ‘Home’, for Christmas 2020, with 100% of proceeds going to UK Charity, Crisis.
Brooke, has been hugely influenced by her diverse multi-ethnic family all her life and has exceptionally strong family unit and values. Living in London, she has been moved by the effects of the current crisis that has affected so many individuals and families, leading to increased homelessness, poverty and loneliness.
