Exclusive Interview with Starlet Amberay On Her Single ‘Summer Breeze’

After bursting onto the scene aged just 14, precocious popstar Amberay returns with her new ethereal single Summer Breeze. Now aged 19, Amberay remains wise beyond her years in new tender release Summer Breeze. With each new song giving further glimpses into the enigmatic starlet’s experiences, Summer Breeze sees the singer-songwriter take a take a new direction in her music, moving away from the electro-pop basis of her previous glittering tracks and into a more mature, poignant realm. Displaying her dexterity to master more than one genre and sound, Summer Breeze features a tenderly poignant piano and strings instrumental alongside her signature crystalline vocals exploring the value of love.

Speaking on the ballad, Amberay commented “Summer Breeze is about love; it’s about the search of the one and those connections we have with strangers in between and what they mean. Love can be short, or it can be forever and even though it’s not always forever, it was beautiful for what it was.”

Despite still being a teenager, Amberay has already garnered attention from multiple notable music media outlets including CLASH being one of her longtime supporters. With Summer Breeze being the first instalment from an upcoming LP, Amberay is set to continue to draw acclaim as she moves through the rank

Let’s talk about your single “Summer Breeze”, what’s it about and who helped you work on it?

Summer Breeze’ is about love; it’s about the search of the one and those connections we have with strangers in between and what they mean. Love can be short, or it can be forever and even though it’s not always forever, it was beautiful for what it was. As you know I am a composer, writer, singer 🙂

I love the music video, what inspired the idea behind it?

When you listen to music, images come to you and so do feelings… And with Summer Breeze I always envisioned Summer love as the inspiration for my Song. I always imagined a white dress signifying purity and peace, I imagined spring, crickets, sparkling sea.

Where did you film the video and was it difficult to film it with covid restrictions and all?

The video was filmed in Ibiza. It was quite a challenge to get people together and flying people in but easy to film as we were filming in open air most of the time.

What’s been the most challenging part of your career so far?

Loosing people that I’ve loved, that played a great inspirational musical role in my life.

Do you have any plans to release anymore music or even an EP? And if so is there anything you can tell us?
