Variety reports that Amanda Seyfried is in the process of developing a musical based the popular 90’s film ‘Thelma & Louise’, with Evan Rachel Wood joining the project. The musical has been in the works since 2021, with Callie Khouri, who wrote the screenplay for the original film is writing the musical. Scott Delman will serve as the producer.
News of the musical was shown during the Golden Globe awards, when Seyfried was absent and couldn’t accept her win for Best Performance in a Limited Series. On stage, presenters Mo Brings Plenty and Cole Hauser revealed that Seyfried couldn’t attend because she was “deep in the process of creating a new musical”.
