‘Fleabag’ writer, creator, and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge is set to write Amazon’s Tomb Raider TV series. The show is rumored to be in early developmental stages and that Waller-Bridge is not planning to star in the show. But she will be executive producing alongside Ryan Andolina and Amanda Greenblatt.
In addition to the news that a TV series is on the way, it was recently revealed that a new ‘Tomb Raider’ movie is also in the works at Amazon. Amazon Studios has entered a “massive rights deal” with Dmitri M. Johnson’s dj2 Entertainment to produce the television series, a video game, and also a movie. Similar to the connectivity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Amazon plans on telling intertwined stories through different characters and stories with all connected to each other in some form or another. No word yet if Waller-Bridge will also be involved in the movie.
