Gaining traction as an artist to watch this year, acclaimed U.K. singer, songwriter, and performer, Absolutely shares an evocative, emotional, and enigmatic new single entitled “Fever Dream” today via Epic Records. Listen HERE.

The track unspools like a dusty old gramophone recording with a hazy jazz beat and off-kilter piano. Guitar curls around her delicate delivery on the verses as she assures, “No, I don’t, I don’t need your lies tonight. The momentum takes a left turn as the song blasts off into an otherworldly crescendo.

It lands in the wake of “Patterns, which has already cracked 100K streams and counting, and the release of Absolutelys debut single “Higher” which FLAUNT raved, “The singer songwriter from South London brings together a plethora of genres on “Higher.” From pop to R&B and electronic, the debut single has it all with the help of Dave Hamelin, the producer behind artists like Beyoncé and 070 Shake.” Listen HERE and watch HERE.

Ceara Cavalieri is an alt pop meets rock singer/songwriter from Southern California. Having graduated from UCLA with a degree in Psychology, Cavalieri has since dedicated herself to pursuing music full time. Her love for music stems from the age of three, where she found her voice and wouldn’t stop singing. In her teenage years she took to songwriting as a way of expressing her thoughts and feelings when her shyness prevented. With eight single releases under her belt thus far, Cavalieri is carving out her own distinct sound of incredibly infectious and candidly relatable pop rock music. Her single, “Damn” was placed on Spotify’s “Teen Beats” playlist and “Fresh Finds” playlist and singles “Liar Liar” and “Bad Thing” were both added to Spotify’s highly coveted SALT playlist. Ceara also recently collaborated with DJ/Producer EQRIC on two dance singles which were placed on Spotify’s “Dance Brandneu” playlist. “Her new single “Hot Mess” is a carefree self-empowering pop-rock anthem all about self-acceptance. Cera confides, the song is “about flaunting your flaws unapologetically. Nobody’s perfect, and I think it’s such a beautiful and empowering thing to embrace your imperfections and just totally own it.”

Canadian singer-songwriter, Liam Barrack, returns with his highly anticipated sophomore single, “Bulletproof”. Recorded at Echoplant Sound in British Columbia by Juno-nominated producer Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge, Monowhales), the new single is a stunning display of Barrack’s unique sound and songwriting ability. “Bulletproof” highlights the contrast between the author’s own perceived flaws and the perceived perfection of his crush.

Within three months of his debut release, Barrack gained over 30K+ streams worldwide, fueled by organic Spotify discovery/playlists and fan-created YouTube content from his dedicated followers. “Bulletproof” is sure to further cement Barrack’s rising popularity and fan base.

Liam, who graduated from Bishop’s University in Quebec, did a joint degree in Music and Computer Science. While he thoroughly enjoys the latter, he loves Music above all else, and has dedicated himself to learning multiple instruments including guitar and piano.

Sydney Sprague has formally announced and revealed details surrounding her highly anticipated sophomore album, ‘somebody in hell loves you’ out September 15 via Rude Records. Today, she releases the new single and music video for “overkill” which can be seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzPfZLuZXtU

“The lyrics of the song are about loving someone who is way too good for you and doing way too much to make it work, feeling like you will do whatever you have to make someone stay even if its hell for you. It really comes through in the punchline of the chorus – “I would die to be by your side and to keep you standing still, yeah that’s over kill,” explains Sydney.

“overkill” is the second single to be released from the new album. In May she released the single and music video for “smiley face” – the first taste of what is to come from ‘somebody in hell loves you’. The anticipation stems from the wild success of her debut album ‘maybe i will see you at the end of the world’ which led to tours supporting acts like The Front Bottoms, Oso Oso, Jimmy Eat World, and Dashboard Confessional.

Her music caught the attention of publications like Kerrang!, DIY, CLASH, NPR, Refinery29, Under The Radar, Atwood Magazine, UPROXX and more who steadily kept her songs in their New Music Friday highlights of the week. She’s also been added to Spotify’s top indie playlists such as Fresh Finds and Amazon’s Fresh Indie.

Andrew Cushin, who is currently wowing sold-out crowds in arenas across North America supporting Louis Tomlinson, has released his new single “It’s Coming Round Again.” A deliciously stirring anthem for these times, the track is the latest offering from his highly anticipated debut album, Waiting For The Rain, out September 29th via Strap Originals. The accompanying music video shows a snapshot of Andrew’s experience on his first ever U.S. tour including footage from his recent performance at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

On touring in the US with Louis, Andrew shares, “This is insane – I’m taking songs I wrote in my bedroom and playing them to thousands of American fans. I’m in total disbelief. I’ll be forever grateful to Louis and his team for this opportunity. I’m just trying to do the best I can, people are really into the tunes. I just can’t wait for the next show. This is also the first time I’ve ever been to America! I’m trying my best to take it all in and meet as many people as I can.”

Vevo, the world’s leading music video network, announces the release of Christine and the Queens’ live performance of “Angels crying in my bed.” “Angels crying in my bed” follows Christine and the Queens previous studio performances of “Tears can be so soft” and “A day in the water.”

Christine and the Queens’ poignant, passionate electronic pop thoughtfully questions gender, sexuality, and identity. “Angels crying in my bed” is from Christine and the Queens new album, PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE. Inspired by Tony Kushner’s iconic play, Angels in America, the album is the artist’s first under the Christine and the Queens moniker since his debut, 2014’s Chaleur humaine.

Redcar felt colorful and absurd, like Prior sent to his insane dream-space,” Chris explained, “The follow-up Paranoïa, Angels, True Love is a key toward heart-opening transformation, a prayer toward the self — the one that breathes through all the loves it is made of.”

Somewhere in West Texas, the new album by Americana singer-songwriter Al Staehely is out now along with the focus track “Mercy of The Moon” that can be viewed https://youtu.be/1NMPxhXJGbg.

Al says, “Great songs, two guitars, bass, drums and a cloud of dust – recorded way out West.”

Jimmie Dale Gilmore says, “Something Good is Gonna Happen – in fact it already has! The new album, “Somewhere in West Texas” by Al Staehely is full of heart, humor and fun. This recording is a long overdue, surprising, genre-leaping addition to the catalog of an iconic rock star. His Texas roots shine through as do the musicianship and pitch-perfect, no-frills production.  It is a jewel.”

Brooklyn-based artist Deb Manso has unveiled her latest indie rock/RnB single, titled Word Play,” marking a significant milestone in her musical journey. Known for her silky smooth vocals, Manso introduces a fresh sound that seamlessly blends indie rock with R&B in this captivating release. The track was expertly produced by renowned NYC producer/engineer Ken Helmlinger.

“Word Play” is the first in a series of singles that Manso will be releasing as a sneak peek into her debut EP, scheduled for release in late October. As a born and raised New Yorker, Manso, also known as Debora Rivas, developed a profound appreciation for diverse musical genres from a young age. Her early experiences singing in church and school laid the foundation for her love of music, influenced by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Ann Wilson and Thom Yorke.

In her 20s, Deb Manso began honing her craft as a songwriter and recording her own songs. She emerged onto the vibrant NYC music scene, captivating audiences with her performances at open mic nights in intimate venues throughout the city. During this time, she found a supportive music mentor who encouraged her to write songs for TV pilots, expanding her creative horizons.

However, it wasn’t until her 40s, after the profound loss of her mother, that Manso discovered her true calling as an artist. Battling depression and anxiety, she found solace and therapy in expressing her personal experiences through songwriting. Inspired by a diverse range of female singer/songwriters such as Lana Del Rey, Phoebe Bridgers, and FKA Twigs, Manso aimed to create music that resonated with others, particularly women over 40 who are navigating their own paths of self-discovery.

Reflecting on her artistic journey, Manso shared, “It wasn’t until now, in this moment of my life, that I truly realized my purpose. I am here to challenge the stigma of aging and bring value to the richness of experience through sharing stories of personal growth and life’s seasons. This is my time!”

Deb Manso’s latest single, “Word Play,” is now available on all major music streaming platforms. Fans can also enjoy the accompanying music video for “Word Play” and stay tuned for more captivating releases from this talented artist.

Paired alongside a set of energetic visuals, we follow as Tinchy Stryder and President T are seen in both a bank vault and warehouse whilst delivering a sprightly performance. If ‘Have A Go’ and ‘Ease’ are anything to go by, we know Grime Originals are letting us in for a treat with their forthcoming project!

For fans of experimental electronica, here is a must watch new artist. NYC born, Berlin based newcomer Dessauer is releasing his debut EP, ‘Limbic Resonance’ on Friday and it’s a sprawling study of intricate patchwork electronics. The project has a fascinating backstory. Of Jewish/ German descent, the music is inspired by both his family being expelled from Nazi Germany and an incorrect diagnosis of Bipolar disorder in his early teens, which led to him spending years in a medicated haze. The title track of the project is a warehouse ready thumper.

North East singer-songwriter – JAMES LEONARD HEWITSON – is back with new single “Black Jeans”, alongside the announcement of his new album ‘More Pop’ (due 6 October). Vinyl pre-order for ‘More Pop’ will go live on 21 June via Butterfly Effect Label.

The release also arrives alongside the announcement of a run of UK live dates for July 2023.

A chipper cut with a distinct retro feel, “Black Jeans” sees James Leonard Hewitson pair his knack for meticulous earworm melodies with colourful and hyper-real storytelling that unfurls as a pragmatic pastiche of his Hartlepool hometown.

Over a score that blends bouncing ‘60s-tinted beats with spiralling electric guitars and bubbling synths, James’ striking observational lyrics like “my favourite team lost on Saturday, my town declined to a ghost-town getaway” leave an added sting of emptiness, mundanity and loss. Explaining more about the song, JLH says:

“”Black Jeans” is a pretty corny song, but the melody just sort of flowed so I kept going with it. I’m from a generally down-trodden North East coastal town called Hartlepool, but it’s great how your fashion sense helps you escape the wider socio-economic realities of where you are.”

As sprightly choruses descend into more sprawling stretches of contemplative instrumentals, he adds:

“The song morphs from a doo-wop song in D major to a noisy, blues-y jam by the end. I was listening to Courtney Barnett’s ‘Things Take Time, Take Time’ a lot last year and I loved the way some songs just kept going in a meditative way, even though they could’ve finished earlier.”

Black Jeans” arrives as the first sample from James Leonard Hewitson’s awaited second album ‘More Pop’, arriving 6 October 2023. Largely a compilation of ideas that were created during the depths of the pandemic, the record touches on themes of loneliness, lust and sadness and is inspired by some of James’ favourite pop artists.

Where his debut record ‘Only The Noise Will Save Me’ saw JLH getting started as an artist, ‘More Pop’ lands as an in-depth exploration of how he’s previously been held back. Recorded and mixed by Chris McManus at Blank Studios in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the album was mastered by Peter Maher and features a small cast of performers including Michael Kitching on drums and percussion and Josh Ingledew on synths.

Long story short, my friend (at the time), Jackie (now ex-best friend), went to a party without me and decided to call me from there to tell me about how much fun she’s having and then refused to invite me. So, I wrote a song about it.

PLAY “Don’t Call Me At A Party” on your preferred streaming platform.FOLLOW for more on TikTok & Instagram.

This is my debut label release as Wax Records‘ newest signing. A bombastic earworm, I chronicle those feelings of FOMO, betrayal, and the comically lackluster experience of college parties. Featuring the real voicemail that incited writing the diss track, it has wrathing and hard-hitting 808s, fluttering synthesizers, and a vengeful vocal performance.

Don’t Call Me At A Party” is special to me because it was one of the first songs I made for myself as an artist, and it gave me the confidence to start performing; my come-up story has really been in the live music scene of Toronto. I performed all over the city last year everywhere and anywhere, picking up fans and experience all along the way. I love how angry and inspired I was in the moment of making it, because it is based on a true story. It’s an anthemic adrenaline rush and I’m super proud of it.

This vicious and catchy dance anthem is sure to get stuck in your head. Sorry, Jackie.

Newcomer Dalia shares her cinematic new single “Pink Clouds,” which doubles as an ode to living in the moment, even if it’s a bittersweet embrace.

Give Pink Clouds a listen; https://apollodistro.lnk.to/dalia

Speaking about the song in further detail, Dalia explains “Pink Clouds speaks about a chapter in my life where I resorted to various methods of escapism to shield myself from reality. I was dealing with my own self-destructive habits and tendencies because I was unwilling to confront many situations that were going on in my life. So I desperately searched for temporary relief to silence the chaos in my mind & I was fully aware of the harm I was causing myself, yet I simply didn’t care. With this song I hope to capture the bittersweet embrace of an escape that offers comfort amidst the pain.”

Launching only this year with only her second eve song, it’s say there’s plenty more to  come this year. Today’s release is a perfect companion to her districtive debut single “Nothing But Pain” which shares a lot of the same rawness to storytelling all in tow to her brilliant, tender vocal delivery.

McKOWSKI is the all-new alter ego of Mark McCausland, one half of the critically acclaimed Irish duo The Lost Brothers, and previously of the Deltasonic band The Basement.

Returning to his old label with a brand new solo project, today he is pleased to present “Lake”, the first insight into an upcoming album entitled: ‘Notes From The Boneyard’.

WATCH THE “LAKE” OFFICIAL VIDEO HERE || STREAM ON SPOTIFY HERE

McKowski’s debut solo album will promise 10 purely instrumental tracks of atmospheric folk and otherworldly soundscapes destined to seep into your soul. Intending to guide listeners through a haunting universe of sounds known only as ‘The Boneyard’, he opens its gates today with its leading track “Lake”.

Taking primary inspiration from a spine-chilling scene in the 1960s horror flick ‘The Innocents’, Mark McCausland explains how “Lake” came to be:

Advertisement. Scroll to continue reading.

“This track is inspired by an old black and white horror movie from 1961 called The Innocents, particularly the scene with the lady by the lake, also mixed with a little bit of Elephant Man carnival atmosphere for good measure. I captured the song in my house during the twilight hour of lockdown, and recorded it as it was writing itself, stream of consciousness style. This is the first track I did for the album, although at the time I didn’t realise I was making an album.”

Creating a sinister atmosphere through its sparsely entwined acoustic guitars, keys, and strings, “Lake” also features a ghostly pedal steel courtesy of Dave Murphy, while Laura McFadden layers-in its mournful cello. With Declan Gaffney (St. Francis Hotel) also adding some of his magic dust to proceedings, the track was all written, recorded and mixed in just one day.

Capturing the very essence of ‘The Boneyard’ in visual form, “Lake” is accompanied by an official music video by Gavin Wood, which will transport those who dare into a glitchy world of bleak woodland scenes and spooky carnival footage.

Defining your own truth is an artist’s most important battle. For bilingual pop maven Aiza, it comes with the territory.

The Montreal-born, Toronto-based artist found her earliest creative outlets on the stage, falling in love with musical theatre in high school before finding her rhythm as a singer-songwriter. As a member of various Montreal bands, it was in weekly, improvised genre-bending jam sessions, and working alongside musical heavyweights like Beyoncé’s former musical director/bassist Divinity Roxx and former guitarist in Prince’s New Power Generation, Kat Dyson, where Aiza found her footing as a stage performer. “It taught me to trust myself on stage,” she explains. “You don’t always know if you’re gonna hit the mark, but you have to take leaps of faith.”

Born to Burundian parents, visiting Burundi in 2017 deepened her already strong connection to her roots, with her creativity offering another way for her to tap into her lineage in more intentional ways. Surrounded by the sounds of her rich culture, Aiza describes the rhythm and connective spirituality of Burundian music that found its own way into her own. “It’s all about thanking God for the blessings, asking God for protection, and it was always playing in the background,” she explains. “I don’t consider myself religious, but I’m very connected to spirit… so there is always an element of knowing that you can create the life that you want when you’re tapped into spirit.”

Wowashwow has a flare for the theatrical, a freestyling fluency fierce enough to threaten the male-dominated hip-hop scene and brings an “unbridled bravado through no holds barred, unapologetic rhymes.” On top of releasing her own music, Wowashwow hopped onto Love Bailey’s track “Hornatia” late last year, with PAPER Magazine referring to her vocals as “commanding” and “hypnotic.” Following its release, “Hornatia” was an official selection short for the Cannes Film Festival. So far 2023 has been a whirlwind for Wowashwow, with a Tiny Desk Contest nomination, performances at San Francisco Pride, Venice Pride and Miami Pride.

Across low-key, soulful jazz instrumentals, the sunset sounds of “Netflixx” set the scene for Harvey to tell a tale of the romantic heroine and the conventions of romance; juxtaposed vulnerability and violence, softness and ferocity, as epitomised by the star of its lyrics, Alabama Worley in the classic cult film True Romance.

Accompanying the release is a DIY visual piece directed by Harvey’s long-time collaborator, Netti Hurley (Berwyn, Adidas, Nike). The first time the pair have worked exclusively and alone on Gus’s visuals, Harvey styled, produced and edited the video herself, with Hurley directing and shooting everything on location in Sitges, Barcelona.

“Netflixx” is lifted from Harvey’s forthcoming EP of four love songs, which aims to explore what connects us when we are physically separated. The release also follows on from April’s single “Easy Pt. 1”, which officially marked Harvey’s return to music after a three-year hiatus for the acclaimed artist who has been championed by the likes of Clash, Notion, Hunger and Fault.

French-Cameroonian, London-based singer, songwriter and producer YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB has gained great momentum since she released her debut EPI Thought I Knew You, Boy Was I Wrong back in March 2023. Although she’s known for combining indie, alternative and bedroom pop with sprinkles of folk, her latest offering “SNAKES” is an indie punk track with elements of grunge that will win the hearts of early 00’s emo/pop punk fans.

Lyrically, she sings about being surrounded by the wrong people and trying to navigate life despite this. Her melodic verses build a lot of tension before an anthemic chorus with huge riffs and relentless energy

“I wrote the song in about an hour, hence why it’s quite simplistic lyrically. It pretty much speaks for itself, and it’s something I needed to get off my chest. Sonically, it’s quite different from what I’ve done so far, but it’s pretty much inspired by all the music that I grew up listening to: Sum 41, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy then State Champs, The Story So Far and ROAM.”YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB

She is characterised by her wavy productions, poetic lyrics and warm voice. Based in both the UK and France, MJ (as some of her friends call her) defines herself by not defining herself and her music, letting her creativity flow and not limiting herself to a specific genre of music. Writing, producing and mixing all of her music, she wants her music to speak for herself and represent who she is: a free spirit.
