Apple TV+ has announced it has picked up the 10-episode sci-fi series Murderbot, based on Martha Wells award-winning novel series “The Murderbot Diaries.” It comes from creators Chris and Paul Weitz and Paramount Television Studios. Alexander Skarsgård has signed on for the lead role.

The official logline for Murderbot reads as follows according to Variety: “Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.”
