Hi Hayley and welcome to OLC! Can you share more about your journey in the modeling industry and how you turned your childhood dream into a successful career?
Hi! Thank you So entering the modeling industry was something I had never dreamed of happening. I grew up very shy and never liked having my picture taken. After graduating college and starting a career in accounting, I found myself feeling lost and seeking a change in my life. Social media was on the rise, and people were starting to make careers for themselves just by posting their own photos and collaborating with brands. I was so inspired by this I started posting photos of myself on instagram and building my own following. I remember the first major thing I did was do a photoshoot in LA with a popular swim brand Boutine LA and from there my account really started to take off. After this, I signed with my first modeling agency and everything went from there. The industry has changed so much with the growth of social media that almost anyone can become a model and make a successful career for themselves.
With such a substantial following on Instagram and TikTok, how do you engage and connect with your audience on these platforms?
It can be hard to manage, but I do my best to reply to the thoughtful messages that I receive. I like to do polls and q+a’s on my instagram stories to engage with my audience and help them get to know me a little better.
Walking the runways of Miami Swim Week and working with brands like Maybelline and Fashion Nova is impressive. How do you choose the brands you collaborate with, and what criteria do you consider?
I always choose to work with brands where I actually use and enjoy the products, most importantly. I like to work with brands that represent positive values; in the case of Maybelline and Fashion Nova they are both big on the inclusivity of all women.
Approaching partnerships in the beauty and fashion industry involves a careful consideration of the brand’s message and the impact it has on its audience. I prioritize collaborations with brands that promote inclusivity, diversity, and positive self-image. It’s essential to me that the products I endorse contribute to empowering individuals and celebrating their unique qualities.
Your collaborations extend to renowned beauty brands like Truly Beauty. What drew you to work with them, and how do you approach partnerships in the beauty industry?
Collaborating with beauty brands like Truly Beauty has been exciting for me. What drew me to work with them was not just the quality of their products but also their commitment to promoting natural beauty and self-care. I believe in aligning with brands that share my values, and Truly Beauty’s focus on enhancing individual beauty and well-being resonated with me.
Being on the cover of Playboy Mexico is a significant achievement. How do you navigate and make decisions about participating in high-profile campaigns that might be considered unconventional in the modeling industry?
The cover of Playboy Mexico was one of the first major jobs I booked as a model, and really defined my path as a “sexier” model in the industry. I feel the most confident and am the happiest when I am shooting in lingerie or swimwear. I try to only work with well-known brands that would portray me in a classy way.
In the competitive world of modeling, how do you stay authentic to your style while still adapting to the evolving trends in the industry?
Staying authentic to my style in the competitive modeling industry has been a journey of self-discovery and continuous adaptation. While trends come and go, I believe authenticity is timeless. I approach my work by understanding the evolving landscape of the industry and identifying elements that resonate with my personal style.
Adapting to trends doesn’t mean compromising authenticity, it’s about finding a balance that allows me to express my individuality within the current fashion climate. I stay true to my aesthetic and preferences, incorporating them into the latest trends in a way that feels genuine to me.
Can you share a challenging moment in your career and how you overcame it? What did you learn from that experience?
For me personally, learning how to pose and be in front of the camera to begin with was my biggest challenge. For a lot of girls modeling comes naturally, but for me it was a skill I had to practice and learn. I definitely still have a lot of room for improvement, but I’m really proud of how far I’ve came since the beginning. I feel a lot more confident in myself in my personal life off of the camera too. It really showed me that forcing yourself to do uncomfortable things over and over brings the most personal growth .
With your growing influence, how do you balance the demands of social media with maintaining a sense of privacy in your personal life?
I honestly do not share too much of my personal life and relationships on instagram and I prefer it that way. There’s a lot of pressure as a content creator to share every facet of your life and it can be overwhelming. I like to mostly post my photoshoots and a little bit of my daily life. Maintaining a sense of privacy and being able to live in the moment without recording it is really important for my mental health.
As someone who has reshaped the boundaries of success in modeling and social media, what advice would you give to aspiring models looking to build their brand and online presence?
I would tell anyone looking to build a brand and online presence to stay consistent and to try to find their niche and what makes them stand out from the crowd. Everyone wants to be a model and content creator and the industry is really saturated, so it’s important to stand out.
Given your diverse portfolio, from runway shows to brand deals, what goals do you have for the future, and how do you plan to continue expanding your influence in the industry?
Short term, I plan on continuing on my current path modeling and working with brands that I love. It’s always been my goal to reach a million followers so that would be awesome to reach that milestone. In the long term, when I am done with modeling, I would like to use the knowledge I’ve gained from social media to be able to market my own business.
