Nashville-based singer and songwriter Jeffrey James returns with his new single, “Day by Day,” out now via Preach Records.
Over the past few years, Jeffrey James has captivated the hearts of millions with his soulful and introspective sound and his rich, velvety vocals. For his new single, “Day by Day,” Jeffrey worked with John Davidson and Jacob Bryant, the lead singer and lead guitarist of the indie-rock band The Brummies. Merging Jeffrey’s soulful pop stylings with John and Jacob’s indie sensibilities, the trio created an irresistibly catchy, genre-blending anthem with “Day by Day.”
“The song is based on my own experience of growing and learning about life and love alongside my wife,” Jeffrey shares. “It hasn’t always been perfect or easy, but there is nothing better than knowing you have a partner who is by your side and ready to take on whatever comes next.”
Pairing catchy pop melodics and R&B influences with reflective lyricism, Jeffrey’s songs explore the complex emotional layers of human experience with compassion and curiosity. Since making his debut in 2016, he has amassed millions of streams across his repertoire, received praise from tastemakers like Billboard and 1883 Magazine, and had his music featured in numerous TV shows and films. In Spring 2022, Jeffrey’s collaboration with Grammy Award-winning DJ, Dave Audé, climbed to number 5 on the UK dance charts. Over the course of his singles, collaborations and EPs, Jeffrey has continued to explore his sound, emerging as an exciting force in the contemporary pop space.

Underscored by full-bodied instrumentation, Annabel wields her sharp lyricism and sonorous vocals to explore anxiety, comparison, and self-doubt. Following the release of last year’s Tales of a Taurus EP, Rebecca Lappa unleashes her first single of 2024, the dramatic new track ‘Deep Water’, out 5th April.
With a steady string of releases behind her, Edmonton, Alberta’s Rebecca Lappa tried something new for 2023’s Tale of a Taurus EP and dabbled with an indie-pop sound, something different from her previous folky output. Having found success with this direction, the acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter continues in the same thread with new single ‘Deep Water’ – this is Rebecca’s story of a toxic relationship, using her pop sensibilities to build to a climactic chorus. Sadly, the situation is one that’s all too familiar in society, yet the compelling vocalist uses her musical power to write a song that soars and within that, encourages others to find their voice as well.
Rebecca Lappa: ‘Deep Water is about my “Me Too” experience with an abusive partner. The water is a metaphor for the feeling of drowning that comes with abuse. This story is about finding the strength and courage to escape and leave.’
Born in San Francisco but raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Rebecca has been singing since childhood and plays multiple instruments. After watching Taylor Swift open for Brad Paisley, she decided “That’s like me. I want to do that.” Rebecca subsequently went on to be nominated five times for the Canadian Folk Music Awards, winning Young Performer of the Year in 2015. In 2019, Rebecca was nominated for three titles at the Edmonton Music Awards, taking home the win for Singer-Songwriter Recording of the Year. Among her previous releases are 2016’s Reckless Heart, 2017’s Spirit EP and 2019’s Unfiltered EP.
Last year saw Rebecca release her Tales of a Taurus EP, marking a stylistic change in direction for her music as she leaned into indie-pop territory in tracks such as the dreamy ‘Forecast’ and the warm sounds yet icy imagery of ‘Blue Lips’, gaining support from the likes of Atwood Magazine, Music-News, and Beats Per Minute. Upon its release, she made her debut UK appearances, which included her very first British show at The Strongroom in London and a set at The Great Escape, the latter earning praise from The Line of Best Fit for ‘packing punch after punch’.
indie rock icons GROUPLOVE announce that their latest album, I Want It All Right Now, will be expanded into a deluxe version on May 10. The deluxe album will feature six new tracks, including today’s live version of the album’s title track “All” from Madison Square Garden. With Jake Clemons from Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band lending his talents on the saxophone, the live rendition sheds any previous confines and swells into something altogether larger than life — Stream.
Speaking to FLOOD Magazine last year, the band’s Christian Zucconi said, “We knew immediately that [‘All’] was going to be the first song on the record and ultimately the title track. This song speaks to what we were trying to understand about ourselves while making this album. It’s our way of asking, ‘Why do we always want something more than what we have?’”
Multifaceted in her approach to artistry, Hannah Hooper has painted all of the band’s artwork. GROUPLOVE’s artwork has become almost as recognizable as their sound over the years, seeing the band work out the tensions of life through all mediums at their disposal.

MAISY KAY
“In Your Car”
• “‘In Your Car’ stemmed from me being a chronic passenger princess. It’s a collection of multiple memories from different times in a car of a new love. I thought there was something sweet about romanticizing something as monotonous as being in a car. It’s recognizing how beautiful and easy the relationship is, but also understanding that no relationship is that way all the time.” — Maisy Kay
• Part Lana Del Rey, part Taylor Swift – yet entirely Maisy – this hopeful, yet cautious single marks the pop songstress’s second new release of the year. This enchanting track – along with her romantic ballad “Sunlight” – is part of her just-announced Wonderlust: The Dawn EP set to release on Monday, May 13. The song delves into the nuances of new love, encapsulating the beauty and challenges of relationships in a mesmerizing melody.

‘Attention!’ is the follow up track to VLS’s latest single ‘Motorway’, which came out in February.
Philadelphia-based producer Digital Ethos is back with his new single ‘FLIP THE TRACK’ out now via HypnoVizion.
Hot on the heels of ‘CUT ME OUT’ with Rezz, Digital Ethos has returned to the label with a new heavy-hitter. One of Digital Ethos’ most anticipated IDs, ‘FLIP THE TRACK’ is a monstrous hybrid of trap, bass, and breakbeat inspirations that unravels over the course of three mind-boggling minutes. Through a meticulous arrangement of industrial tones and gritty distortion, Digital Ethos’ sound continues to awe with its intangible divergence from the usual curves of bass music.
“My new song ‘FLIP THE TRACK’ is one of my more sought after dubplates from the last two years. Finally finding a home with none other than HypnoVizion, this song stylistically falls in line with my older works, resembling the classic eerie space bass that the Digital Ethos project got recognition for when I first started producing. I think those elements of this track are what resonate with me most.” – Digital Ethos

California DIY duo The Palms release their opus to the state that raised them with their new album Wonderland. Their first full-length record since 2020, Johnny Zambetti and Ben Rothbard have done a lot of creative healing and found their way back to their roots. Self-produced, Wonderland is the soundtrack for a top-down drive anywhere from Laurel Canyon to the Sunset Strip, an osmotic experience of surroundings and the band’s ever present motif of redemption based on their personal David vs Goliath journey — Stream.
“As a whole, ‘Wonderland’ is a portal into our own existence and our attempt at making sense of the wild world around us over the last three years,” shares the band. “If each song acts as a story filled with questions and lessons, ‘Phases,’ the final track on ‘Wonderland’, is a subtle resolution to the eleven songs preceding it and a reminder that this journey is but a series of chapters and episodes. As brutal and defeating as life can appear, ‘this too shall pass’ and it is up to us to find beauty and meaning in the lesson.”
Buried deep in Montreal’s lingering winters, a trio of musicians sat in a room together. Used to the crazy pace of working in the city’s hyperactive music industry, they might have been unconsciously looking to do something slower, calmer, and free from commercial constraints. Looking at the snow battering the wide windows by the train tracks, they spent the afternoon playing around with what was in the room: a slide whistle, a Juno, and some guitar pedals. The table was set for what would become Caméra. They eventually spent more time together, finding sounds, exploring bizarre ideas, but always seeking beauty. At some point, they invited some friends over to add colors. The album that came out of these sessions has a really strong cinematic mood. Traveling between a murmuration of birds at sunset, a daydream in the Japanese rainforest in 1986, or listening to a sexy saxophone melody played by a dude in a leopard speedo inside a midcentury cottage while drinking a white russian, Caméra somehow makes sense. The strength of the melodies proposed by the trio ties it all together. They carved this little musical universe with patience and care for countless hours over the past two years, it’s now ready to go out into the world.
Who did this?
Francois Jalbert is a guitarist, composer and producer based in Montreal. Often labeled as a “chameleon” musician, he likes to play (at least try to play) a lot of styles of music, such as folk, jazz, indie and progressive rock, funk, bluegrass and gypsy jazz, and a bit of electro. Francois is a busy bee on the musical scene, he has collaborated with a number of well known and unknown artists from Canada and the United States. He is currently leading the progressive folk band Little Misty.
Mélanie Bélair is a violinist, arranger and composer based in Montreal. She took part in many musicals projects and recordings since the middle of the 90s. She explored plenty of styles and colors with projects from Montreal and went on tour with several artists such as Patrick Watson and Charles Aznavour. For the last 3 years she’s been part of the instrumental project Flore Laurentienne.
Aurélien Tomasi is a composer, arranger and performer, specializing in wind instruments. Graduated from the EMRR Conservatory in Toulouse, he continued his studies at the University of Montreal and graduated in Interpretation-Jazz in 2015 and in digital music in 2022. Aurélien is active in numerous groups in Quebec ; His versatility and curiosity allow him to arrange for Zachary Richard, produce albums by El Balcón, compose for Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra and record for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.
Vancouver fusion-pop artist Cinnamon Sandhu shares her new single ‘Materialistic Rani’ out now on all digital streaming platforms. The fun and empowering pop song is a cultural blend featuring a unique mix of English and Punjabi, a nod to Cinnamon’s identity as an Indo-Canadian. Listen to the track here.
Cinnamon wrote ‘Materialistic Rani’ with empowerment in mind. The track encourages listeners to embrace their desires and aspirations unapologetically through the spirit of modern feminism. The song’s message invites audiences to reconsider their views on materialism and recognize its positive aspects within the context of personal agency and empowerment.
“‘Materialistic Rani’ is a lively fusion of English and Punjabi, capturing the essence of a modern-day queen who revels in materialism,” says Cinnamon. “The song embodies the spirit of ‘Rani’—meaning ‘queen’ in both Hindi and Punjabi—celebrating a bold embrace of desires and dreams in a catchy, culturally rich anthem.”
An emerging South Asian artist from Vancouver, BC, Cinnamon calls her genre fusion-pop because it’s a mix of Western and Indian pop music. Her music career began nine years ago, when she began singing covers of Punjabi and English songs on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Since then, she’s gained 180K followers, 2M likes on TikTok, and 3.5M views on YouTube.
But despite this early success, according to Cinnamon, it wasn’t until years later that her career fully took off: “I consider 2021 the year my career officially launched as it’s when I released my first single and booked my first paid show at 5X Fest, a well-known South Asian Festival in BC. In 2022, I independently released four singles and one self-funded music video, with my music video reaching over 10K organic views on YouTube.”
Defying easy categorization, Little Misty stands out as a captivating fusion of progressive folk and indie rock. Hailing from the north end of the Appalachians in Montreal, Canada, the group is led by long-time friends Kathryn Samman and Francois Jalbert. Although firmly grounded around the many traditions of folk music, the legacy of their home city’s rich musical heritage is strongly infused in their songs. Their repertoire is hopping between genres, pulled by an insatiable curiosity of what music could be. From cinematic landscapes, whimsical interludes to whaling guitar solos, their exact genre is quite hard to put a finger on, but always at the service of the story that needs to be shared. Little Misty released two albums so far: Little Misty in 2020, and Nowhere Land in 2023.
Kyle Hollingsworth is thrilled to share a brand new song “Carnival” – out now via SCI Fidelity Records. “I wrote this one recently, based on a piano melody I was playing around with. When philine writes a song, she invites everyone to spend a little time inside of her head.
Her tender voice, delicate tunes, and vivid lyrics grab your attention right away, but it’s her wild imagination that really hooks you and, ultimately, inspires. It’s as if she’s turning her feelings into real-life magic, letting her thoughts dance around in catchy melodies and shimmering chords.
After quietly buzzing out of The Netherlands, the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist opens up her world on 2024’s side-effects of living in a fantasy EP [Nettwerk Music Group].
“During the writing process, I spent a lot of time inside of my brain,” she notes. “I have a huge imagination, and I’m a big overthinker. I tend to live in fantasy more than reality. I get so caught up with how I perceive things and my almost movie like version of life. The upside to it is that with a mind like that, I’ll always have stories to tell. But the thing with a story is, it’s not reality, it’s a story. And it keeps you from living in the actual reality. When that happens, or when reality hits in my face, I isolate myself and become very absent to the outside world. These songs are the moments when I’m captured inside of my thoughts.”
On the first single “green,” acoustic guitar washes over a soft beat as her breathy cadence instantly enchants. A wistful hook takes hold, and she exhales, “Darling, everything is green. Took me so long just to see.” She recalls, “I wrote it after my first psychedelic experience, it felt like everything split and came back together as one universal thing. My perspective switched for the better. ‘green’ is about the bright side of life, love, and coming home. You’re surrendering to the collectiveness.”In the end, philine sings what’s in her head and in her heart on every song. “I’ve learned that it’s part of life to be confused about life and experience ups and downs,” she leaves off. “I hope my music can connect people. We’re all dealing with things in our own ways. We shouldn’t focus on what separates us, but what connects us.”
Over the last year, philine has built momentum, kickstarting with her debut so sick of myself EP [2023], generating streams in the millions. Not to mention, she joined Melle for “Old Summers,” which reeled in over 524K Spotify streams. With the impending release of side-effects of living in a fantasy, 2024 is set to see philine reach new heights.

Broken Gold today share the glistening power pop ripper “Fault”. The track is the final single to be released in advance of the band’s second studio full-length Wild Eyes.
On an album that is riven with reflection, “Fault” stands as a particularly striking testament to realization. From the opening salvo, “Feeling like the living dead, The dream had died inside my head” Broken Gold singer/guitarist Ian MacDougall navigates the equally cursed and blessed nature of being a touring musician. Years spent playing stages in places you’ve always dreamed of, all the while watching your home life disintegrate as relationships are strained and an exhausting never-ending search is undertaken for part time jobs to fill the downtime.
It’s a topic close to the heart of seasoned road dog MacDougal, who’s served lengthy stints with Band Of Horses and a legion of punk and crust bands, as well as over 20 years as a founding member of beloved Texan punks Riverboat Gamblers.
Notes MacDougal, “it’s sort of a cautionary tale in a way. Be careful what you wish for. This one’s about crumbling under pressure, constantly feeling like you’re getting tested and that you’re always at odds with everything but at the heart of everything you have to admit that you yourself are a root of the problems you’re having.”
AG Club’s duo of Jody Fontaine and Baby Boy unveil the official music video for their single “Barry.” The fast-paced new video was directed by in-house visual artist Manny Madrigal, while the song is taken from AG Club’s forthcoming new album BRODIE WORLD, set for release on April 26.

The Linden Jay-produced energetic anthem “Barry” first appeared on WE’RE ALL BRODIES, the three-song EP the collective released in November as a pre-cursor to BRODIE WORLD. In the official music video, they unleash its daredevil-driven visual, replete with stunts, an injury-riddled car ride and the unpredictability fans have come to expect from an AG Club affair. Baby Boy and Jody Fontaine go from toasting brews on a rooftop to flinging themselves off of one. It’s as much fun as it sounds.
The video for “Barry” is the latest chapter of the leadup to BRODIE WORLD, which the duo announced to fans earlier this year and formally revealed last week, alongside the music video for album opener “eva.” which shares a visual through line—the car ride scene—with its successor.
BRODIE WORLD is the second album from Bay Area-bred, Los Angeles-based AG Club to release with Epic Records. The group has steadily built its audience with a multitude of releases since 2019, leading to appearances at global festivals such as Coachella by last year. AG Club has been crowned Los Angeles’s “next big music collective,” by Nylon, and the impending release of BRODIE WORLD represents the duo’s crowning achievement to this point in its career.
The ten-track offering showcases the best of AG Club’s serene, buoyant brand of lifestyle rap. It is set to feature names like Mike Dimes, Igwe Aka, and Mercury, plus production from Hippie Sabotage on one song.
