“So, this is the original Fleetwood Mac, which was founded by Peter Green, one of the greatest singer-songwriter-guitar players, he’s less known in the public, but very well known to us guitar players re the 60s British blues and he’s up there with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Nick Taylor. He sort of had a misadventure with drugs and disappeared early in his career, but he had some great fucking songs and ‘Oh Well’ is one of my favorites. I remember hearing the song on the radio when I was probably 13, they used to play both the older version of Fleetwood Mac and the new version of the band with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham a lot. I always loved this song, and it’s a great guitar riff. I jammed it with the Blues Ball back in the ‘90s, and I’ve played it live here and there. I knew from the beginning I wanted to do the song on this record. It was also one of the songs that I was trying to figure out who would be the right vocalist for it, and one of the ideas I had was Chris Stapleton, who is one of the most brilliant singer songwriters today. He’s also got such a gritty and distinctive voice, so I called him up and he did an amazing job. I mean, his voice is so cool.”

Denver based noisy hardcore punks, Candy Apple, have announced their long-awaited new album Comatoseout May 17 via Convulse Records

Accompanying the album announcement is, TOTAL CONTROL, a 25 minute short film featuring three new tracks from the album, “Paralyzed”, “Pull The Plug” and “Heavens Gate”. All three tracks are also available on all major streaming platforms.

Rock band FELICITY is putting their infectious songwriting on full display with their new shimmering pop-rock anthem, “Lovesick Blues”. Drawing inspiration from popular songs spanning the decades, “Lovesick Blues” is a modern love song with a nostalgic twist, and a testament to the band’s signature style of blending tongue-in-cheek lyricism with a wide spectrum of sounds that’ll have you singing along in no time. The song is set to be released on May 14 via Zodhiac Records. Fans can pre-save it now, here: https://listentofelicity.com/lovesickblues.

“‘Lovesick Blues’ is one of our favorite songs we’ve written. We feel like it’s one of those timeless songs accessible to all generations,” the band shares. “Many of our songs are geared toward a specific demographic. Our heavier songs might be for metal heads or a pop-punk anthem for the warped tour purist, but with ‘Lovesick Blues’, we feel like it could be played on the radio, in a department store, or sung in the shower.

They continue: We’re so proud of it! We’ve never written a love song before, so this was entirely new. We have songs that are inspired by relationships, but if you want to be a real band, then you gotta have a classic love song, so we’re happy we hit this milestone!

XXIM Records/Sony Masterworks is proud to announce the signing of Finnish composer, pianist, and producer A. Blomqvist, alongside the release of his new song “Kaiho”, the first single to be taken from his forthcoming EP, Spring Memoir this spring, with an album following later in the year. The latest addition to the label’s striking, international roster of exceptionally talented and creative musicians, A. Blomqvist’s distinctive playing style and ability to craft memorable, gently melancholic melodies have established him as one of Finland’s most prominent classical artists and have garnered a global following.

Citing the world-renowned, and unquestionably the most influential Finnish composer in history, Jean Sibelius, as his main inspiration, A. Blomqvist has become one of the most listened-to and followed Finnish artists in the world today. With over 80 million streams worldwide, 162k followers on Instagram, and 24k followers on TikTok, he is bringing his deeply personal take on Finnish classical music to listeners of all generations and from many countries worldwide.

And building on the success of two self-released albums, he stands ready for his first release with XXIM Records and a new chapter in his burgeoning career. “It’s a big step for me,” he says of working with XXIM and Sony Music. “I’m ready to speak to an even wider audience.”

A. Blomqvist first sat at a piano aged four, at the behest of his parents. But the instrument was not necessarily his first love; music was. “I just loved the feeling when I got something right, when it sounded good to my ear,” he says. So he experimented with guitar and other instruments, copying songs from the radio and just “experimenting, trying different qualities.” But he persevered with piano lessons, his talent shining through; “It was cool because nobody else [in my town] played piano,” he says. “So it gave me a different type of motivation.”Performing in piano matinees as a child, the audience was already picking up on his particular musical sensitivity. Learning to play the piano would soon become Blomqvist’s “safe haven”, a place to escape the outer world to a realm of imagination.

Aged eight, he started attending the conservatory in his hometown of Jyväskylä and focused more on his pianistic development. Chopin, Beethoven, and Bach were obvious touchstones, but so too was Yiruma, the acclaimed South Korean pianist and composer. “He introduced me to the idea that you could do classical music in a more modern way,” he says. “That you could add pop-like structures, or compose in a more cinematic style. It sparked the thought that I could put my own sound and meaning into music, and create something new and unique in the classical vein.”

The Amours in their own words:‘Pick Me Up’ is a song I’m sure many can relate too. We all know that being in a healthy relationship takes work. Especially, once you get past that honeymoon phase. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t and sometimes you get into a slightly toxic situation where you know they’re no longer good for you, but you’re choosing to leave the door open for that person to return.

The Amours are gearing up to release their debut EP, Changes, out April 26th, following their recent singles  “JK, I Love You,” “Before I Met You,” and Don’t Deserve. The EP is set to showcase the duo’s dynamic sound as they bounce off each other’s energy. Executively produced entirely by Camper. The theme is a celebration of women from all walks of life. No matter the background, there is a common thread of searching for love throughout various chapters of one’s life–whether it’s self-love or romantic love.

one of the alternative-R&B renaissance’s most mature and vulnerable voices, Sylo, releases “So Familiar.” The second single from his forthcoming full-length project, starts out in his gently plucked signature style. But with the addition of a loungey piano, sultry horns, and a jazzy Latin twist, the Korean-Canadian artist allows the track to unfold into a much larger groove. Out now via The Orchard — Stream

Sylo describes the track as, “A paradox of wanting to care for someone so deeply yet knowing you can no longer do it.” The way he gracefully slides in and out of the song has never made the ending of a relationship feel more welcomed.

Toronto’s budding lyricist Blair Lee releases her second EP LIMBO. With her light touch of the pen, Lee crafts a sonic universe unbound by gravity. A masterclass in extracting the hopeful from the mundane, the six-song offering draws the curtains back to reveal a period of time for feeling caught in the in-between — Stream

Simply put, she says, “‘LIMBO’ is all about the in-between, indecision, looping, stalling, being stuck.”

Today’s EP arrives alongside an official video for “Don’t Wanna Leave.” Having written this song on her birthday last year during a phase where she was staying out too late, Lee admits that the song is, “about not wanting a night to end, but my friends would argue it was about my relationship at the time. Maybe it’s both.” In the video, Lee is spending a casual night out at the restaurant/bar she works at with friends and coworkers. It’s the kind of night that feels small at the time, but ends up being a moment you always look back on

acclaimed Irish indie rock band Pillow Queens share their triumphant third studio album Name Your Sorrow out everywhere now. At their most exposed yet, the group dives headfirst into a raw, open landscape of feeling highs and lows, resulting in a cathartic, brave, explorative body of work that stays long after the album ends. This June, Pillow Queens will perform live across the UK and will support Snow Patrol in Limerick, IE on July 12 ahead of their biggest show to date on July 13 at Dublin, Ireland’s Iveagh Gardens. Tickets are on sale now for all shows via pillowqueens.com/live.

The band’s triumphant third full-length album Name Your Sorrow finds the group at their most vulnerable and self-assured as they explore themes of queerness, insecurity, desire and heartbreak as well as the positivity and strength that can grow from pain. Produced by Collin Pastore (Lucy Dacus, boygenius, Illuminati Hotties) at Analogue Catalogue in Northern Ireland, the collection sees the group chart new territory as they give fans an all new, uninhibited look at both their artistry and humanity. With masterful instrumentation and raw lyricism, the quartet immerse listeners in a robust, emotionally-charged sonic world like never before.

Each of the twelve tracks peel back an additional layer of the human condition, from grief to joy and everything in between, culminating in a collective catharsis–a newfound sense of strength and hope in a greater sense of self. With moments of harmony and contradiction, McGuinness calls the album one of intensity, loneliness and love. “It is about stages of love, loss and grief and how they can all exist alongside one another–intertwined, messy, beautiful–how both love and loss can coexist.” Tucked away in the quiet Irish countryside, the group bonded deeply, laughing, cooking for each other and playing games which resulted in a safe, supportive environment that allowed each musician to experiment, mess up, and try again. Pillow Queens credit Irish poet Eavan Bolan, English poet John Keats, and British writer C.S. Lewis among their literary inspirations during the writing process, and musically, influences range from Vampire Weekend to Barbra Streisand to Frank Ocean, Tool and Lana Del Rey.

The LP has already been met with high praise, including Irish Times who wrote“Vigorous riffs, fluid guitar solos, irresistible earworms..This has ‘album of the year’ stamped all over it, with every track packing a punch.” XS Noize adds the album, “showcases Pillow Queens at their strongest, both from a production standpoint and in terms of songwriting. Their music has always been hard to describe, which is a good thing as that shows uniqueness, and, like past releases, this album shows experimentation, with a song like ‘February 8th’ incorporating electronic beats and ‘Blew Up the World’ offering a slower, acoustic reflection, but I don’t think the music is a huge departure from the band’s established sound; it just displays how tightly honed it has become.”

Hood River, Oregon’s alt-pop pride and joy, flor, release their newest single “Nosedive.” Rolling out a series of singles over the last few months with more queued up, the 3-piece band is riding out the joy of their newfound creative independence. Starting out with a simple pluck of the guitar and earnest vocals, “Nosedive” slowly adds in more and more sonic elements while remaining gentle and honest — Stream / Watch the official visualizer.

“I was inspired to write ‘Nosedive’ after a particularly bad night of low self esteem and low confidence,” shares vocalist Zach Grace. “I wanted to write a song that dug right into the awful feelings I was having and not beat around the bush at all — which is typically what I do when I write. Everyone has moments where they feel their worst. The hardest part of that is how it feels like everyone around you has given up on you as much as you’ve given up on yourself. It’s a gut-wrenching song that explores the intrusive thoughts that try to make me feel worthless.”

Musical duo Society of the Silver Cross have today unleashed their latest single, “By The Millions.” “By The Millions” is the latest track to be shared from the group’s forthcoming album Festival of Invocations, set to be released on Friday, June 14, 2024.

On the new single the duo shares, “’By The Millions’ emerged as a reflection of the uncertainty and fear that gripped us at the onset of the pandemic. Confronted with the prospect of an unknown and potentially catastrophic future, we both grappled with the overwhelming sense of isolation and abandonment. The lyrics convey our profound sense of vulnerability, as we felt like nameless shadows left to our own survival. The instrumental sections carry a lumbering quality, evoking a reluctant march of millions one by one, while amplifying the peculiar parallel of solitude amidst the shared experience. As the song concludes, it felt natural to steer the tale towards a more open, uplifting ending into a place of hope.”

Post hardcore band SeeYouSpaceCowboy have today pulled back the curtains on their highly anticipated new album Coup De Grâce. With each new single the band has a welcomed listeners into a neo-noir world of their own creation, culminating in a brand new music video for “Lubricant Like Kerosene (ft. Kim Dracula)” – watch now here: https://youtu.be/ZrO1x18Q3jI.

This album was a chance for us to refine some of the melodic elements we had recently introduced to the band while also playing around with all things and bringing back reinvented version of past parts of our identity,” shares frontwoman Connie Sgarbossa. The hope is that we made something that mixes the innate emotion of post hardcore with the cathartic essence of dancing and allure of cabaret/burlesque in a package reflecting the tale of a city on fire and it’s all to tragic individuals and their indulgence and woes.

Alternative rock duo Loveless has shared their new single “I Love It When It Rains” along with a music video for the song, out now via Rise Records. Inspired by those moments that feel too difficult to endure, “I Love It When It Rains” is about fighting through the storm to be there for those you love most. I’m so thrilled to finally unveil our new single, ‘I Love It When It Rains’. When we first got together with Andrew Goldstein, I knew immediately we were onto something magical,” shares Julian Comeau. “That iconic riff, the huge melodies, everything came together so quickly and effortlessly. The words came out of me easier than breathing, telling a story about wanting to be there for someone through every hurdle, even if it might break you, and that sometimes to get through, we have to go together.”

He continues: “It’s about accepting that we all go through so much, so what’s another breakdown if it means the person you love will be okay on the other side. I wrote this song when my mother was sick and fighting hard, she had been released from and suddenly re-admitted to the hospital the day we had the session. I was terrified, I didn’t know what would happen next, but I knew I was going to be there for her no matter what. She is my biggest supporter and championed me through so much, and ultimately I’m just so grateful that I get to share this song with her. I hope this track finds the people who need to hear it most, I hope it empowers you and helps you realize your trauma and your pain does not define you, but how you fight through it certainly can.

musician and writer Scott Guild shares the moving track “Until They’re Home,” a stirring exploration of grief and the transience of life out now. The track arrives ahead of PlasticThe Album, due out later this month on May 31. The LP is the musical component of his innovative book-and-album project, which includes his acclaimed debut novel, Plasticout now via Penguin Random House. Plus, Guild announces a summer book-and-music tour across the Midwest, open to the public, beginning June 3 in Parma, OH. Find a full list below with additional dates to be announced.

“Until They’re Home,” out today, delves into grief and aims to make sense of the past and its impact on the future. Emerging from Guild’s grief in his own life, the musician & author shares the track is, “a song about grief, about feeling haunted by the loved ones you’ve lost, about wondering if you’ll ever feel whole again. Erin, my main character, sings here about the loss of her father and boyfriend, but the song comes from my own experience of losing a parent in my twenties, the pain and confusion from that death, the ways I tried to escape the pain. Life is so fleeting, but the memories never leave us; the past can often feel more real than the present.”

Sonically, the pensive acoustic guitar pattern resonates with the themes of grief, drawing the listener into a space of loss and longing. Midway through the song, the spacious synth and choral vocals of Gainsayer (Ages and Ages) overtake the track, leading listeners deeper into Erin’s pained desire for the past. The song ends on an aching note, with sparse instrumentation and a raw, vulnerable vocal–Erin surrounded by her ghosts, whether real or imagined.

Plastic is set in a future world of plastic figurines, and the album tells the story of the novel through a cycle of dynamic art-pop songs. Stranger Cat (a frequent collaborator of Sharon Van Etten and Sufjan Stevens) stars on the record, singing in the voice of Erin, embodying her struggles. While many of the tracks use lyrics from the musical numbers in the book (where the figurines break into song), the tracks also branch off in their own directions, expanding the plastic universe of the story. All my life, I’ve been obsessed with art that pushes boundaries,” Guild says of telling a story through music and prose, especially boundaries of genre and format. Kate Bush with her high-concept videos, Anohni’s work with Marina Abramovic—I love art that creates an immersive world, that lets me lose myself in someone’s vision. That’s my hope with Plastic: to find new ways to tell a story, to put people in a vivid space of imagination.”

Norwegian-American pop punk artist Lille Venn has released her highly anticipated new single “Just Like Me!!” via How I Feel Records. The track showcases Lille Venn’s fresh pop punk world with raging guitars and punchy vocals as lead singer Helene’s inner monologue narrates a scene of angst and self-doubt.

Listen to “Just Like Me!!” here: https://ingrv.es/just-like-me-11i-e

Amidst the roaring guitars and infectious hooks, “Just Like Me!!” captures the universal experience of feeling lost in a sea of expectations, yet fiercely determined to carve out one’s own path. It’s a rallying cry for anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t quite fit in, reminding us that our flaws and imperfections are what make us unique. This pop punk anthem of self-discovery is set to unite international airwaves with colorful energy and unfiltered authenticity.

“Just Like Me!! is the inner monologue that starts playing when you realize you’re at a party you should’ve left hours ago. It’s an attempt to befriend your self-deprecating thoughts rather than push them away” shares lead vocalist / guitarist, Helene Brunæs.

After 17 years as part of acclaimed duo The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, Canadian vocalist and harmonica virtuoso Shawn Hall aka – The Harpoonist now goes it alone and confirms details of his first single and first solo record.

New songs, new record, and turning a new leaf. New gritty, tough-assed swamp music with edge and off-the-wall lyrics. More importantly, a new musical partner-in-crime with Big Sugar’s Gordie Johnson. As he gears up for the release of his first solo record, ‘Did We Come Here To Dance’ out this summer, The Harpoonist announces the first single, the joyful Good People out 26th April via Tonic Records.

Set against a swirling backdrop of electronic voices and organ chords the hypnotic ‘Good People’ showcases an infectious energy that’s hard to resist with lines like ‘I may not have it together, but together we could have it all.’ It’s an energetic fusion of rock, funk, and soul and marks the start of an exciting new journey for Shawn.

The Harpoonist – ‘“Good People” hit me like a brick to the head at my dining room table about a year ago, sort of like a mantra of some kind. I had this dizzying nature whirling around in me – it’s a call to action, in its simplest form asking “did we come here to dance or come here to die?”

Originally from Toronto, The Harpoonist is the alias for the harpoon/harmonica/harp prodigy otherwise known as Shawn Hall. Having performed for almost two decades, spending 17 years as part of The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer (with guitarist Matt Rogers taking the name of the latter), the duo released six albums, playing countless sell out tours and received praise from Canadian national newspapers like The Globe and Mail, whopraised them for their ‘electric grease and king-snake swagger, and CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation),who described their sound as ‘some of the most gritty, raw and muddy music north of Mississippi.’
