INsiders Guide: Eddie Witz and The Most High, Valley, NERO, GROUPLOVE, Southtowne Lanes…

Eddie Witz’s journey is a testament to the resilience and the transformative power of music. After facing the challenges of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome stemming from personal trauma, he didn’t let adversity define him. Instead, he turned to music as a source of healing and inspiration. His debut EP, “I Am What I Am,” slated for release in the summer of 2024, reflects his journey of self-discovery and growth. Drawing from influences like Jack Johnson and Jimmy Buffett, Eddie’s music blends pop, Americana, folk, and reggae/world music, creating a unique and captivating sound that transports listeners to a tropical paradise. Collaborating with industry giants like Native Wayne Jobson and Jeff Barry, Eddie’s album features renowned musicians such as Sly Dunbar and Robbie Lyn, adding depth and richness to his compositions.

“In California” is the third song off of Eddie’s debut EP “I Am What I am” set to release later this year. Explore the sun-soaked journey of self discovery in ‘In California,’ a heartfelt anthem tracing the highs and lows of homegrown roots. From Embracing golden shores to confronting the daunting crossroads of departure, this track encapsulates the bittersweet odyssey of finding oneself amidst the allure of the Golden State

Alternative pop band Valley return with a brand new track, “When You Know Someone,” out today through Capitol Records/Universal Music Canada. Although the song was born out of the uncertainty in grief there’s a sense of familiarity as if Valley have returned to their roots. Karah’s harmonica blares with urgency over a loop Rob had worked on, inspired by Bruce Springsteen and The Killers, a bit of an arena-rock sound that seems like it should be soundtracking a pivotal scene in a cult classic — Stream.

“We wrote ‘When you Know Someone’ with Trent Dabbs (Kacey Musgraves, COIN, Ingrid Michaelson) who helped us channel the emptiness we were feeling,” Karah explains. “He sang the lyric ‘when you know someone, think you know someone’ and I remember all of us just feeling so exposed and so seen by him in that moment. It’s a beautiful feeling of safety when you can write a song with people that truly understand where you’re coming from, you can’t hide and that’s powerful.”

Fans can tune into Valley’s YouTube to watch the premiere for the “When You Know Someone” live video at 12:00PM EDT today. The video was filmed at RC Harris water treatment plant, Valley explains, “We were looking for a sense of brutalism mixed with beauty for this video and a lot of open space because the song feels very empty yet scenic.”

After a decade of making music together Valley are relearning to be a band together, entering a new chapter now as a trio. Rob Laska (lead vocalist), Alex Dimauro (bassist) and Karah James (drummer) were once rounded out by guitarist and lifelong friend Mickey Brandolino. In January, Mickey took his bandmates out and let them know that he would be leaving the band to focus on his dream of being a producer.

After collectively processing, the stars finally aligned to work with long-time friend Chase Lawrence from COIN who was pivotal in showing them the path to making music together again. With the help of Chase, Valley put some of these feelings on paper and in doing so, rediscovered their sound.

Grammy-winning, Ivor Novello-nominated live electronic trio NERO have unveiled their latest single ‘Draw Energy’, the third off their highly-anticipated album Into The Unknown

‘Draw Energy’ is an electrifying embodiment of the mechanical tones and futuristic ethos that encompasses NERO’s universe. The track samples London’s industrial surroundings as sonic inspiration. True to form, ‘Draw Energy’ is masterful and grandiose in production while still harnessing the kinetic force of the dark dance floors where NERO was born.

“This song started with the first sound you hear in the track – which was a piece of machinery that we recorded in a car park. We knew we wanted to build something heavy and energetic around it but with a feeling of ‘human meets machine’.” – NERO

Last year, Daniel Stephens, Joe Ray, and Alana Watson reemerged as NERO with their first solo single, ‘Truth’, following a five-year hiatus. Nearly a decade since the band headlined Coachella’s Outdoor Stage (2015) and premiered their second studio album Between II Worlds, NERO is embarking on their next journey with Into The Unknown. Marking a significant return for the trio, Into The Unknown will see NERO revisit their drum and bass roots with tracks like ‘Blame You’ as they conclude their album trilogy, which began with the chart-topping, Platinum-selling and Grammy-winning Welcome Reality (2011).

indie rock icons GROUPLOVE release I Want It All Right Now Deluxe, featuring six new tracks via Glassnote Records. Seeing the band at their most liberated, their sixth studio album is their self-coined “resistance pop” with self-aware reckoning. In today’s deluxe tracks, GROUPLOVE sinks deeper into the absolution that comes with shaking off the expectation of perfection — as musicians, as partners, as parents. A band that transcends their ever-shapeshifting genre, GROUPLOVE too has evolved over the last decade, channeling their ecstatic energy into the deepest tensions of the human psyche, all while playing with the contradictions and complications of existing — Stream I Want It All Right Now Deluxe.

Today’s standout track, “Can You Feel My Love,” takes a more mellow approach to its transparent storytelling. Vocalist/guitarist Christian Zucconi said, “Can you feel my love? It’s a question and it’s the answer. I’m asking you, I’m asking my family and I’m asking myself. I need to know you can feel it. With all my flaws and all my imperfections can you feel my love?”

Multifaceted in her approach to artistry Zucconi’s counterpart, Hannah Hooper has painted all of the band’s artwork, including today’s album art. GROUPLOVE’s artwork has become almost as recognizable as their sound over the years, seeing the band work out the tensions of life through all mediums at their disposal.

Southtowne Lanes has today released their highly anticipated new album Take Care, out now via Dog Knights Productions. The record – a deeply personal account of loss and grief – features recent singles “Find Your God”, “Witness”, and “Go Cold”, and marks the band’s first full-length since 2016.

On the surface, this record was written largely in dedication to my father, whom passed away in a brutal and sudden manner in September of 2021,” shares lead singer/guitarist Matt Kupka. “The album, song by song, dissects the stages of grief: how they relate, how they changed me, how I dealt with them, and how they led me down to the depths of my own mortality, where it seemed there could be no light.

He continues: “In the end, Take Care is about the shreds of hope that are found buried in the wreckage of loss and grief. It’s about peeling back the layers of hurt, and finding resilience in the human condition.”

Indie pop artist beccs has announced her upcoming EP, stay moist out June 28, paired with the release of her new single and official music video for “f 0 0 d.”

Listen to “f 0 0 d” here: https://ffm.to/f00d

Watch the Official Music Video for “f 0 0 d” here: https://youtu.be/FD-le3TH7Do

“f 0 0 d” is an ode to the swirl of grief, hope and uncertainty in letting go of a codependent relationship; in this case, one with food. In total beccs fashion, the artist takes the stigmatized topic of disordered eating and addresses it under the guise of a cool, textural alternative pop track. Written at a later stage of her recovery when her eating disorder, while seemingly inactive, still fueled certain thoughts and desires, beccs strived to see the world without the veil of her eating disorder obscuring it.

The fluid track is like water, echoing trance-like sound baths sparking self actualization and healing. It flows with harmonic and rhythmic twists and turns, lush synths and sampled vocals, but remains intimate and organic, surprising and guiding listeners forward into a final body of water – a space to process. Inspired by notes of Okay Kaya, Portishead and Tirzah, the single distinguishes itself on stay moist as the one track the queer artist, known for her powerhouse vocals, produced herself.

Serving as a bridge across eras, EP stay moist out June 28 features songs written as far back as 2018, revisited and recorded as a symbol of the singer’s personal and musical growth. stay moist is a bold, edgy, colorful indie pop record filled with maximalist pop production, show-stopping vocals and some serious earworms. beccs had coined the term stay moist during the pandemic when she would find herself crying. To bring levity and a sense of connection to these episodes, she would take a snotty selfie and post it to her Instagram grid with the caption “stay moist”. What started as a coping mechanism in isolation soon turned into a motto of resilience, motivation, growth, and most importantly – whimsy.

Each song on this EP reflects and confronts difficult, shameful, even ugly parts of oneself. By allowing pain and trauma to move through like water instead of getting lodged inside, we can all ‘stay moist’ as a way to remain honest, authentic and glistening through our healing. Tracks like “Good Comin’” and “Rage In My Veins” show the craft of a songwriter in her prime, taking struggles that often connote shame and bringing universality to them with hooks that leave listeners humming long after the song’s end.

Parallelle are two Amsterdam-based brothers from the south of France. Multi-instrumentalists, composers, producers and label owners, their music cuts across electronica, electro-jazz and underground dance music. They offer live, hybrid and DJ sets which you may have heard at DGTL Festival, Burning Man, Wonderfruit, Fusion, Hi Ibiza, Get Lost, We Can Dance to name a few. In 2019, they launched their own artist imprint – Klassified Records – and opened “The House of Klassified” in Amsterdam: a creative hub combining studios and recording facilities, an art gallery and co- working spaces.

After a lot of experimenting, Julien and Thomas feel confident to have now found their unique signature to take on electronic club music with groovy rhythmics, a heavy and banging bassline, live recorded instruments and uplifting vocals. Crosstown Rebels, DGTL Records, Sapiens and Klassified are their musical homes. Next to producing music, both brothers have always been fascinated by the power of audio-visual. When they were approached by Peugeot to create music for their Peugeot 5008 ads, it opened up a whole new world. Fascinated by how music and sound play such an underrated part in film making, they decided to dive into it and expand their Klassified label brand by offering sonic branding services

acclaimed New York City-based electronic musician, producer and activist Moby celebrates the life of Benjamin Zephaniah with new track “where is your pride?,” out now taken from his 22nd studio album always centered at night, due out June 14th and available for pre-order now.

The propulsive, break-beat driven track is spoken word with a powerful message delivered in the late dub poet’s characteristically warm burr. “Where is your love? / Where is your faith? / Where is your hope? / Where is your place? / Where is your pride?” Moby is proud to share a track with the late Benjamin Zephaniah to continue to celebrate his life and notes their aligned ideals, As a vegan activist, and as a wise and compassionate man, Benjamin inspired me for many years. I hope that ‘where is your pride’ honors his legacy and also draws people’s attention to his life, work, and principles.”

Benjamin Zephaniah was a British writer, dub poet, actor, musician and professor of poetry and creative writing. He was included in The Times list of Britain’s top 50 post-war writers in 2008. He won the BBC Radio 4 Young Playwrights Festival Award in 1998 and was the recipient of at least sixteen honorary doctorates. Zephaniah was also a vegan and animal rights activist.

Even by Moby’s standards, always centered at night is special. The album features 13 collaborations in all, from names many might recognize to others many undoubtedly will come to recognize. The captivating voices on always centered at night include Sudanese, Netherlands-based chanteuse Gaidaa, London-based, Burundian royal refugee J.P. Bimeni, and Kingston-raised, London-based Aynzli Jones. These are often personal songs, and the personal is the political, as is the border-defying nature of the work. Moreover, they’re crepuscular, conceived at twilight, with many of the styles of the last 30 years in electronic music coming to the fore, such as the trip-hoppy “we’re going wrong” featuring Brie O’Banion, the broken beat, almost drum ‘n’ bass influenced “medusa” (with the aforementioned Aynzli Jones), or the Latin house of “feelings come undone” with Raquel Rodriguez

In his pursuit of new sounds, Moby has become something of a collector of voices. He’s a connoisseur of the timbre and texture of human vocal chords, whether sampling artists like Bessie Jones, Vera Hall or Boy Blue on Play, or working with superstars like David Bowie.

In the realm of musical secrecy, the Los Angeles-based duo known as sym fera remains veiled in mystique, with their identities still concealed. Their second single, “little things“, earned accolades from none other than RollingStone, who hailed it as the “climax to every drama, crime film or action chase scene, pairing gradual yet heavy piano melodies with Jeff Buckley-conjuring vocals” and was quickly followed by the release of their most popular single to date “11/8” which has garnered over 400,000 streams. The track stands as a thought-provoking exploration of the intricate ways in which social media distorts our minds, a concept that resonates deeply in the digital age. The song was also featured in the hit show Ozark, which inevitably brought traction to the band. They have also already been synced on FOX notables The Resident and Prodigal Son. Piquing the interest of several in the music industry, sym fera was signed by State-of-the-Art Records (helmed by Ian McEvily, Marc Jordan, and Mike Clemenza) who released the duos first EP and have been unaware of the band members are to this day.

The duo’s mystifying aura transcends the boundaries of the studio, as evidenced by their electrifying live performance at the Lodge Room in LA. In a bold move to preserve their elusive personas, sym fera orchestrated a night where all cell phones were collected at the entrance, preventing any digital evidence. The stage became a playground for secrecy, illuminated only by lights that tastefully revealed their silhouettes, leaving the audience entranced and craving more. sym fera proves that the allure of anonymity can be as captivating as the melodies they create.

sym fera continues to captivate and surprise their ever-growing audience. Now, sym fera has returned with their latest single, ‘BEG’, an electronic rock delve into the foreboding world of hookup culture, delving into the psychology of a single encounter and intimacy with a stranger. “

Razor Braids createsoaring harmonies and a magnetic sound invoking a cathartic sound unlike any other. From performing at 2023 SXSW and 2023 Boston Calling openingfor The National and Foo Fighters to receiving praises from Brooklyn Vegan and Vanyaland, Razor Braids are the newest head-turning phenomenon. As of right now, Razor Braids are gearing up for the release of their sophomore album Big Wave. Serving as the follow up to 2021’s I Could Cry Right Now If You Wanted Me To, the new album focuses on the ways in which life’s waves can ricochet into our personal experiences.

Rising R&B Songstress, Dajah Dorn, shares a new visual for her recent single “Twice on Sunday,” watch HERE via Vinyl Crown Recordings. Directed by Saint Cassius and Tahiry Bah.  Hailing from the north side of Jacksonville, Florida, Dajah has entered the world of R&B, weaving together her diverse musical influences and personal experiences to create a sound that is uniquely hers.

Dajah in her own words: “A question I get a lot about Twice On Sunday is, “Girl, who are you singing about?” And I’m always like “I don’t know, I haven’t met him yet!”

Honestly, when I wrote Twice on Sunday I wasn’t in the best emotional space regarding relationships, but I don’t want to write “men are trash” songs. That’s not a narrative I want to keep creating in my reality, so I was like I’m about to manifest what I want in a partner and how I want to be loved with this song. At some point in your life you have to realize your worth and choose yourself first. This song reminds me to focus on loving myself while staying open to being loved by the right person when the moment is right.

I’m a lover girl, I still believe in love.”

Daughter Of A Drum, the creative musical persona of multi-talented artist Aoife McAtamney, announces the release of her highly anticipated debut album, “Pink Breath,” on August 30th. Alongside this unprecedented news comes the unveiling of her second single, “Hippy,” scheduled for release on May 29th.

“Pink Breath” offers a profound exploration of femininity, reclamation and self actualisation written over several years inspired by pivotal social movements such as Marriage Equality and The Repeal campaign, Aoife McAtamney has crafted a song cycle that resonates with depth and authenticity. “Pink Breath” invites listeners on a transformative journey, with each layer revealing a deeper meaning. ‘‘My Body is My Home’ is the opening line of Pink Breath and its artistic thesis statement, collaborating with visual artist Choy Ping Ní Chléirigh-Ng to create a symbolic language where each song contributes to a lexicon of freedom by Daughter Of A Drum

Before that, we give you “Hippy”, a vibrant anthem and homage to the iconic ‘Irish Mammy,’ embodying an infectious blend of whimsical depth. Penned during a moment of inspiration in the shower, the song marks Aoife’s inaugural venture into songwriting, nurtured by the guidance of esteemed mentor and beloved NYC artist, Justin Vivian Bond. Delivered with the feeling reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland’s wormhole, “Hippy” portrays the complexities of a woman navigating relationships while contemplating the role of motherhood. Set against a musical backdrop inspired by cabaret nights, the song’s irresistible rhythm urges listeners to dance. Produced by Alex Borwick and recorded at Sonic Studios, “Hippy” promises to captivate audiences with its audacious spirit and cheeky charm.

Leah Jane, acclaimed for her acting skills and a Best Actress nominee at the “Short Stop Film Fest,” is also recognized for her role in the Lifetime movie House of Deadly Lies. She skillfully integrates her acting talents with her musical abilities, producing a captivating auditory experience. Her forthcoming EP, Nottingham Drive, features the poignant song “Paper Crown,” which delves into themes of feeling neglected and undervalued. Another track, “Scarlet Letter,” serves as a modern take on heartbreak, and “Same Cloth” delves into young love. This EP marks a significant point in her career, especially noted by her 2019 RBC Emerging Musician/Canadian Walk of Fame Scholarship win for her song “Water,” highlighting her development as a diverse artist.

singer-songwriter Sydney Sherrill has announced her new EP Luckiest Girl Alive, out July 12th. The project acts as a time capsule of her youth, encompassing the various emotions she experienced personally or witnessed from those around her. Setting the tone for what’s to come, Sydney has also released her new single and title track, “Luckiest Girl Alive,” which showcases her dynamic vocals as she speaks on having life fall into place after meeting that special someone. In the accompanying music video, directed by Sam Leviton, viewers get a first-hand look at her path to future-stardom.

STEFA*—the Queens-raised project of stefa marin alarcon (they/them)—announced their debut album Born With An Extra Ribwith the enlivening single “3COSAS!,” hailed by Womanly magazine asthe freedom anthem we so desperately need.” Today, STEFA* returns with differ3nt today,” a downtempo song that explores identity expansiveness, showcasing yet another side of stefa’s genre-fluid music.

Detailing the new single, stefa shares: “I was inspired by ‘90s music listening to this, like ‘90s alt-rock/pop – specifically with this invitation for the audience to sing along with me so I put in those ‘heys’ as this come to spirit moment. I wanted this to feel like an anthem for people – for everyone – not just for trans people, not just for non-binary people, not just for queer people. We all change so often and we have a right to change, so I wanted it to be an invitation for people to ask these same questions.”

On the accompanying diaristic music video, stefa adds: “The video is taken from four years of footage – I started filming with this small camcorder in 2020 and so a lot of the video is of friends, of community, a lot of different places I’ve been, nature, myself in different spaces. Some of it’s been uncomfortable – watching it back and really seeing how I’ve changed so much physically in appearance – also my friend groups and people around me have changed a lot too, and so going back into those archives has been really emotional and intense at times. To witness myself being really silly – flirting and filming people – it’s also been full of joy as well. It feels like a personal diary that I’m sharing with the world. I’m calling it a T4T love tapestry and I really just want to capture trans love and trans friendship and trans joy in these images.”

Electronic music extraordinaire Kasbo continues to build on the buzz around his upcoming album with his new single and video, “I’m In Trouble,” featuring Swedish trio ViVii, out now.

An uplifting, uptempo tune full of dulcet synth tones and otherworldly topline melodies from ViVii, “I’m In Trouble” is a gorgeous new addition to Kasbo’s album campaign. With a chorus lighter than air against a soundscape of soaring atmospherics, the Swedish producer proves why his emotive sound is causing so much buzz on the electronic scene. An immersive music video accompanies the newest single, which was directed and produced by Jessie McCall with Sean Kusanagi as the creative director. The visuals present intrusive thoughts in corporeal form and further explore the album theme of decelerating, while starring Kasbo in one of his videos for the very first time.

Around the video, its director and producer Jessie states “I felt so aligned with the whole team behind this shoot, who gave me so much room creatively to bring the vision of “I’m In Trouble” to life. Sean Kusanagi, by offering his expertise, helped me relax on set, allowing me to channel and translate what I bring to stills into film. I was flattered that Carl was open to being brave in front of the camera. Not only did he exceed my expectations, but anyone watching would’ve thought him to be seasoned at falling into a pool off of a ladder, which, believe me, is an incredibly awkward ask of somebody. The fact this low-budget project came out looking high-budget is a testament to what this team is able to pull off.

Speaking around the record, Kasbo comments “‘I’m In Trouble’ is about communicating to a loved one that you might not be doing so good, but in that able to share the load and go through it together. Fending off negative thoughts isn’t as tough when you’re two.”

Gaining support from the likes of Nylon Magazine, Prog Magazine, We Plug Good Music, Get In Her Ears or She Makes Music on their single ‘Stardust’ as well as opening for Dream Wife at The Electric Ballroom in 2022, London-based rock band The Kobras return with psychedelic anthem ‘Belly Of The Mountain’ due for release 8th May 2024.

Naming the White StripesGill Scott-HeronSantana and Goat as their main inspirations, ‘Belly Of The Mountain’ sees the singer Dessy landing powerful vocals inspired by Bulgarian folk music, where she’s from, interweaved with edgy screaming guitars, acoustic tones and a heavy psychedelic groove leading towards a guitar solo sounding like a snake charmer’s and a warm & intoxicating chant melody on the outro.

The days surrounding the release of a debut album should be a celebratory time for an independent artist. For the Americana singer-songwriter Sarah King, it was a bittersweet moment. Her first LP, When It All Goes Down, was released on March 29, 2024, to praise from everyone from American Songwriter to Brooklyn Vegan, The Bluegrass Situation, Glide Magazine, and many more.

Just three days later, on April 1, 2024, King received a preliminary diagnosis of papillary thyroid cancer. After several weeks of testing, that diagnosis has now been confirmed. After being told she’d need multiple surgeries beginning in July, she made the decision to schedule the first following the Grand Point North Festival, so she could give her fans a proper “temporary farewell,” with her only full band show of the year.

Before her hiatus from performing, King, who is based in Vermont, will appear at a handful of festivals, including the Wildflower Festival in Richardson, TX, on May 18 – 19. These will be her first performances since receiving the news.

“While I’m heartbroken not to have the year I’d hoped with this album, the songs will still be there for me when my voice and my body are healthy enough to take to the stage again,” says King, pointing out that while any cancer diagnosis is extremely frightening, having surgery so close to her vocal nerves causes additional anxiety for a singer. Fortunately, she has an excellent medical team and vocal coach ready to guide her through recovery and rehab, so she can return to live performance – the thing she loves most in the world – as soon as possible.

Pop-punk powerhouse Taylor Acorn has today shared her brand new single “High Horse”, out now. “High Horse is an empowering track about staying true to who you are — no matter how people look at you or what they think. The track is accompanied by an official music video featuring footage from Taylor’s sold out US headline tour, which is available now at: https://lnk.to/HighHorse_MV.

Over the years of sharing my music and being a presence online I’ve learned that no matter how hard you try, there will always be people who just really love to hate you,” Taylor shares. “That fact has been one of the toughest pills to swallow because my Virgo brain wants to please everyone at all times, but at the end of the day you have to be strong and keep powering through despite what they say. No one knows you like you know you and ‘High Horse’ is my little anthem to remember that It’s never as deep of a cut as it seems.”

First Hood River, Oregon’s, now the world’s alt-pop darlings, flor, today release their newest single “Kick It.” A fuzzed out, knobs dialed all the way up type of track, “Kick It” tells judgmental onlookers to shove it and be on their way. A more confident, provocative take from flor, the band continues showing their vast songwriting range as they explore the joy of their newfound creative independence — StreamWatch the visualizer.

Vocalist Zach Grace shares that, “This song is weird because it’s inspired by so many different experiences. It’s tied to the real world by the bridge which is just an affirmation to my partner who blazes their own trail. When ditching the status quo, trying things your own way can leave you isolated and alone. You have to remember that the eyes of onlookers don’t have to elicit feelings of judgment, but instead can be a gift of encouragement and awe. And if it is from a space of judgment, well that’s their issue to sort out, not yours.”

Continuing, “It’s also inspired very loosely by ‘Into The Spider-Verse.’ I took my own interpretation and inspiration from the film and created a character in my head that is so ridiculously cool that people just can’t understand the weight of them. I wrote them this song.”

Rock icons The Used have announced a deluxe b-side album MEDZ, set for release on June 21 via Big Noise. Including previously released singles “People Are Vomit” and “Fuck You”, MEDZ offers eight new, never-before-heard singles from The Used from the Toxic Positivity writing sessions with John Feldmann in 2022 and 2023.

MEDZ is available to pre-save now at https://theused.ffm.to/medz

Vocalist robbietheused shared a quote from C.S. Lewis to give a deeper meaning to the collection of b-sides: “Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say “My tooth is aching” than to say ‘My heart is broken.’”

Off the back of her critically acclaimed single ’Storm’ (originally produced by Papi Hey), that came out last September, Milyssa Rose went back to the drawing board with producer Chethan Music to create a newly refined take on the song, the ‘Reimagined’ version.
Also falling off the back of her studio album ‘The Collection’ which came out January this year, Milyssa felt it was the right moment and time to make her indomitable return in line with Mental Awareness Month, for the newly crafted “Storm Reimagined”.
Milyssa said:“Storm Reimagined came about when Chethan Music requested my vocals for the original song, Storm. He wanted to experiment with building diverse and fresh instrumentation around the vocals. The end result was incredible! It became a musical earworm for us both. Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the song projects this whole subject matter throughout, it was a no-brainer to release”.

Lyrically, Storm Reimagined is a song for anyone going through any type of hardship. Sometimes it can feel like you won’t make it, and that it’ll never end.
The effect on your mental health can be dangerous, but being able to talk to someone about those issues is such a necessary, massive step.
We all have storms, but you can become stronger and more resilient over time.

“This is a song I wrote in the early days of System Of A Down that I never released,” says SERJ TANKIAN. “The majority of the instrumentation and vocals are recordings from that time. Dystopian in mood, the song is a reflection of the angst and anti-authoritarian attitude I had to conformity.”
