That’s right you read that correctly. Spaceballs 2 is in the works. According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Amazon MGM is moving forward with a sequel to 1987’s Spaceballs. Josh Gad is set to be starring in the film as well as producing the film alongside Mel Brooks. Of course it was Mel Brooks who directed the first Spaceballs movie.

Gad also co-wrote the screenplay with Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez, while Josh Greenbaum has been tapped to direct the film.

Gad previously teased his involvement with a Spaceballs sequel on Instagram.
