INsiders Guide: Ciara, Jazzi Bobbi, Tuelo, Emma Driver, BERRIES, Olive Louise…

It might seem the most mundane detail in an artist’s profile is where they were born, but in the case of genre-transcendent singer/songwriter Lily Vakili, it’s the best place to capture the start of a wild, expansive life journey. “I was born in Honduras during a military coup,” says the New Jersey-based artist, “At the hospital, my father made his way around injured soldiers to welcome me to the world. He says that set the stage for everything else in my life.”

A couple of continents, too many jobs, several careers, and three children later, Vakili is making music her way: passionate, personal, and defiantly original.

Described by Relix Magazine as “upp[ing] the emotional and political ante with … punchy tunes, delivered from a strong female perspective,” Vakili launched her recording career as a solo artist with two albums, Lake City/Next 3 Exits and Meadowlands, before forming the five-member Vakili Band and releasing three studio albums, Oh Alright, Walking Sideways, and 2023’s Honey. “An electric blend of Rock, Soul & Psychedelia,” (Under The Radar) the Honey album exemplifies the collaboration of Vakili Band, having honed their distinctive sound in the studio as well as on tour up and down the East Coast.

‘Crush’ showcases Jazzi Bobbi’s eclectic artistry, blending heavy electronic beats with a compelling narrative that captures the full spectrum of romantic experiences. The EP is an immersive journey, tracing the chronological cycle of romance—from the initial thrill of a Crush to the inevitable ups and downs, and everything in between. Each track radiates Bobbi’s unique energy, delivering a soundscape that is entirely her own.

‘Crush’ is a cheeky commentary on life and romance. A lighthearted contemplative view on past romantic situations with a narrative weaved throughout. ‘Crush’ begins with the initial feelings of lust in ‘Crush2’, where a situation is new and exciting but innocent. In a cheeky, lighthearted fashion, ‘MLX’ touches on the actions that follow. ‘Urallineed’ is about how the innocence of the initial feeling can turn into desire or even desperation with ‘Find Something New’ presenting a moment of clarity, and the realisation that all things have an expiry date. Closing off the EP, Jazzi has also shared a captivating cover of Rhianna’s ‘Needed Me’, in her own style, giving the song a whole new sound.

South African-born, NYC/Dublin-based folk-rock musician Tuelo shares promising, soothing track & official video “Bitter Weeping” out everywhere now. The sweet acoustic guitar-led tune reads like a diary entry made public–with self-encouragement, insecurities and candid thoughts and feelings on full display.

The artist’s defiant second studio album Regarding My Heart is due out September 27 and available for pre-order now. With her most refined, self-assured sound to date, Regarding My Heart is a sweeping sonic exploration of love, loss and loneliness that allows Tuelo to cement her place in the folk-rock sphere. Tuelo will celebrate the album release with a show at NYC’s Joe’s Pub on September 25 with tickets on sale now here.

Explaining the concept of the title, Tuelo says, “Being loved and cherished to someone, may it be family or friends, is for me what makes the world go around. In nature, I think love is this concept that explains the electricity that sparks progress, creativity and creation, be it bad or good. It’s a song from the perspective of the one who loves – comforting, shaking, and rescuing a person who is struggling to grasp life. It is also written by a person imagining how loved ones would live and cope with their chosen death.”

Though these topics may be heavy, Tuelo says the track aims to shine a light on the positive, healing aspects of these thoughts and the beauty of self-acceptance and honesty. Tuelo continues, “It feels like a dark topic, but it’s not. Many people have pondered self harm; many are in one way or another harming, self-sabotaging, and holding on by the thinnest threat. Very often when I find the peace of mind to write I know that I’ve jumped a hurdle. Simple truth is that ‘Bitter Weeping’ was a diary entry to myself and made with my typical heavy, solid, and consistent strum.”

Under The Radarwho debuted the track and video, says, Bitter Weeping” is a resonant folk rock strummer, centering on impassioned melodies and confessional lyricism. Tuelo drives the track forward with insistent acoustic chords and anthemic rock guitar lines, but the standout moments come from her plaintive and powerful vocal performance. She moves effortlessly between spoken-word pleas and ascendant, wailing high notes burnished by gospel harmonies. Meanwhile, her lyrics offer a moving portrait of loving someone unable to love themself: “Come back down/You are better than what you’ve been thinking/Forget all the brain-bending things/To suggest you’re imperfect, you’re so complete.”

Emma Driver, a burgeoning queer artist and cancer survivor, will release her powerful
new single, “Try Hard,” on September 4th. This first release marks a significant step in her healing journey, transforming insecurities into acceptance and aiming to serve as a guiding light for others facing similar struggles. “What a nightmare to be perceived” are lyrics Emma penned in 2021 before her cancer diagnosis. However, these words resonated more deeply as she lost her hair to chemotherapy and became unrecognizable even to herself. Confronting mortality at 27, she found solace in her music once again, transforming fears and shame into art that eased her pain and revealed an undiscovered strength. Emerging from treatment in remission nearly three years after her last release under a different name, Emma felt a rapacious urgency to release music. Returning to New York City, she collaborated with the renowned production duo SUPR8, known for their work with Lolo Zouai, Bradley Simpson, and Princess Nokia. This collaboration resulted in her upcoming four-song EP, “Ashamed To Admit This.”

The trio are pleased to confirm details of their new album ‘BERRIES’.

Due for release on 18th October via the Xtra Mile Recordings label, the album is preceded by its lead single “Watching Wax”, which is available to hear now.

|| PRE-SAVE ‘BERRIES’ HERE

With its scrawled-out staccato guitar licks, spidery basslines, and venomous lyrical stings, first cut “Watching Wax” signals a deadly return from London trio.

Dripping with a febrile intensity and packed with scattergun hooks to match, “Watching Wax” finds BERRIES reflecting on the restlessness of anxiety and the constant cloud it can cast over our day-to-day. As the band state:

Watching Wax is about escaping your worries for the day and attempting to give your mind a rest. The lyrics touch on fears for our future selves, looming anxieties that you can’t suppress and the desire to have a perfect day without your daily stormy thoughts.”

The first indicator of how the follow-up to their acclaimed debut, ‘How We Function’ is shaping up, the single finds BERRIES honing their art for the unpredictable and growing in confidence. And as its eponymous title, ‘BERRIES’, may already make clear, this is a band determined to make a statement with their second full-length outing.

While the band have never shied away from brutally honest admissions or difficult subject matters like struggles with mental health, ‘BERRIES’ finds them weaponising them into a set of fearlessly assertive tracks that seize strength from darkness. As BERRIES explain:

“This album is about battling intrusive thoughts and finding contentment in your day, however big or small those moments are. It’s a journey to finding your own space and being comfortable in it. We haven’t held back with this album – it’s raw, honest, and a true reflection of BERRIES.”

Olive Louise, New York born, is “Laufey meets Olivia Rodrigo” says A1234 who recently took notice of Olive’s last release ‘No Medicine’.  Olive grew up on Long Island practicing the violin every day before school and was a voice major at boarding school in Michigan where she says she found her love for alternative music; listening to artists like Atmosphere, Santigold, and Kimbra. As a child, Olive wasn’t allowed to listen to anything but classical music and says “ my brain always goes to piano and violin first, it’s my factory setting”. Her production is heavily laden in soaring strings and floating harmonies, and has been associated with the dream pop, indie folk, and Americana genres.

Her latest single “Greatness” is a hauntingly seductive track featuring her signature vocals weaving effortlessly into an explosive chorus. The production is lush and  glides seamlessly from a playful toy piano mocking in the background, to aggressive and hard hitting drums. The reletable narrative is one of inner strength, and stepping, or slithering- into confidence, with the artist confiding, “Greatness has been my go to before I have to deal with confrontation, when I need to set boundaries, or when I have to do something uncomfortable; it just puts me in this head space where I’m in control. “

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Puma June is an “emerging Canadian artist you need to hear” (Exclaim!). The pop/R&B multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer grew up surrounded by music, falling in love with big jazz vocalists like Aretha Franklin from a young age. With an eclectic array of influences, from Stevie Wonder to Billie Eilish and everything in between,  June’s music is a unique blend of pop, funk, hip-hop, and R&B – a genre-bending sound that is both nostalgic and distinctive to the listener.

Puma June’s childhood was not easy, but music always grounded her. A classically trained violinist, June played in the Orillia Youth Symphony Orchestra and later Huronia Symphony Orchestra until she finished highschool in Barrie, Ontario. She was also a violinist and backup singer in various indie-rock and folk bands throughout her early years (including a folk duo with her sister), but never found the confidence to go out on her own. After studying nursing and working throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic, Puma June rediscovered herself musically and finally found her own voice.

With a clear political point of view, Puma June’s feminist-laced songwriting pushes unfiltered honesty and centres around regaining power in one’s life, with a particular focus on women’s/gender issues, familial trauma, and the battle of self-doubt as an artist. June released her first single, “Lost Years” in November 2022, followed by 4 more self-produced singles and music videos throughout 2023 and the start of 2024.

June entered 2024 as a round 11 recipient of the RBC Music x Prism Prize MVP Project Grant, which she used to make a music video for her single “My Body, My Problem”, which came out June 28th. This was the first single off her upcoming debut EP, a home-recorded expression of vulnerability and strength, which is set to be released in fall 2024. With lots on the horizon for 2024, including being selected as one of this year’s RBCxMusic ‘First Up’ Emerging Artists, and selected for the EquityxProduction Program through SOCAN Foundation, Puma June is the embodiment of a self-made artist and is a rising voice in the Canadian pop/R&B scene.

This new release promises to be both nostalgic and fresh, celebrating a decade of the game that contributed to CG5’s rise in the music industry.

Released in 2014, Five Nights at Freddy’s began as an indie game funded through crowdfunding and released on Steam. By 2015, FNAF had built a larger-than-life fandom and inspired sequels and spinoffs, while also solidifying its place in gaming culture.

CG5’s upcoming single “FREDDY” is set to resonate with long-time fans of the series. Known for his deep connection with the FNAF’s community, he has partnered with Black Gryph0n, a primary artist with 3 million monthly listeners, and MatPat, a famed YouTuber with nearly 20 million subscribers.

BC jazz-pop musician Kate Trajan shares her new single ‘Amazon’s Dilemma’ out now on all digital streaming platforms. Listen here.

The 2nd single from her new album Ancient Fires (out on September 20th via Pastiche Records), ‘Amazon’s Dilemma’ is an exploratory genre-bending track about the psychology of power.

“On the surface, this is just another song about Amazon warrior women wondering whether they should be treating their male sex slaves any better,” says Kate. “But I wrote it as an exploration of how we treat each other when we become the ones with power. If we have been harmed by others, does that make us more or less likely to treat people with kindness and compassion when we are in control? This Amazon is feeling conflicted.”

NJ duo Fascinations Grand Chorus tap retrofuturist imagery to deliver boundless optimism on new single Neon Symphony. This timeless indie pop cut evokes theme park glitz and grandeur with a title following in the grand naming tradition of Epcot’s Laserphonic Fantasy and Magic Kingdom’s Electrical Water Pageant. The result is a summer hymn for hopeless romantics, and one that brightly sets the stage for the duo’s Summer Love EP (out September 12th).

“Neon Symphony” follows the July release of the title track “Summer Love”, which bottled sonic sunshine in a quest to deliver a perfect moment of freedom. Together, these two singles underline the Summer Love EP’s intent to pay tribute to summers past, present and future.

Since the release of Fascinations Grand Chorus’s 2019 debut LP, the duo of Stephanie Cupo and Andrew Pierce have seized the title of indie pop heavyweight champs of Jersey City and conquerors of seaside amusements. Scene-stealers in the Garden State’s biggest hidden scene. Songwriting rivals? Analog allies? Do they even know at this point?

Few who heard the duo’s 2022 slasher-inspired Terror In The Night LP could’ve expected the followup to be these hymns to long days and warm nights. Instead these new songs signal a purposeful and playful upending of the band’s own trajectory. With this new EP, they trade horror for the hope of summer romance and create something as familiar with nostalgia as it is alive with creative ambition.

This shift outlines a defining feature of Fascinations Grand Chorus; their commitment to joyfully following their muse. Armed with analog synths, bright percussion, and Brian Wilson-esque layers of warmth, they create vibrant soundscapes, evoking emotions from sinister to sweet.

Ellee Duke is an American Artist, Songwriter and Entrepreneur. Blending real life stories with organic, quirky elements, Ellee has a gift for expressing complicated feelings in a unique, emoting way. Some of her other cuts include Lukas Graham, Slayyyter, Charlotte Lawrence, JLO, Walk Off the Earth, Alexander Stewart, Ali Simpson, and Blu Eyes.

At the end of 2023, she had two cuts on the Slayyyter album “Rhinestone Heart,” and “Dramatic,” which charted top 10 on Billboard, and the project was voted one of the Best Pop Albums of 2023 by Spotify. Josh Gudwin mixed her recent single release “I Hate Cardio” which has stayed on multiple editorial playlists for over 8 months.

Ellee’s core values of integrity and empathy afford her a loyal, eager audience with more than 13M views on TikTok, and 25M streams internationally.

Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, Ellee dreamed of becoming an artist from the age of 5. Coming from a very religious Mormon household, writing songs became an outlet for her to express herself in a way she didn’t always feel allowed. Ellee continued penning her own material and by age 17, had hundreds of original songs. This propelled Ellee to Nashville where she found early success with major labels and publishing deals. But as a young woman in an industry that demands an ideal from you, finding yourself is close to impossible. “Throughout the years I really lost myself trying to be what I thought other people wanted.” Ellee went on a 12 show tour on the West Coast and fell in love with Los Angeles. She felt a sense of creative freedom and weightless belonging she’d been yearning for her whole life, and she moved there not long after.

Since then Ellee has chosen to embark on a journey back to self, and quickly found healing in being an independent artist and songwriter. This also led her to leave the Mormon religion which has come with its own set of struggles. Some of her family doesn’t speak to her anymore. But Ellee continues to hold her head high knowing she’s living a brave, unfiltered life she will proudly sign her name on.

Now with multiple tours and releases under her belt, Ellee is taking the music world by storm as a creative and role model.

Hailing from Long Island, New York, 23-year-old Julia Raye has been performing for as long as she can remember. She grew up taking dance classes, singing, and performing in local musical theater productions. By age 17, she had performed in over twenty musical theatre shows along with performances with the New York All State Choir and ACDA All National Choir. She went on to study vocal performance at the University of Michigan where she was able to learn from George Shirley, a pioneer in the opera world who became the first African-American to perform at the Metropolitan Opera.

Olie Beckett’s love for music has existed for as long as he can remember, even before becoming an artist. His first passion was to become a DJ. He admired the skills of DJs like Marshmello. A fan of most genres of music, his first memories involved listening to the music his father would play as he worked in his radio office. His mom loved music and Olie would listen to her hum along with her favorites on the radio. Soon, he began to join her and sing along and that is when the arrow hit its mark and inspired Olie to become a singer.

In a flash he was auditioning for a countrywide choir, taking lessons, and singing at his church. An early inspiration was Olie’s vocal teacher, Melissa, who had a musical theater background and was convinced that the theater was the appropriate path, so she opened Olie’s eyes to the world of theatrics which has proven to add emotion to the music he creates. Olie owes a debt of gratitude as well to Mr. B. for vocal coaching and for introducing the world of musical composition.

For Olie, music has become a focal point. He finds it difficult to stay focused in school because of his strong desire to write and sing songs every day. Olie says “I have matured my music sense to the trends that I find inspiration in: music artists like Harry Styles, Sza, and Rosalia. It is always easy to find who you like as an artist but it is harder to find who you are as an artist. That is when the creative process sparkles after mixing your own personality into a genre or song you created.”

Once Olie started to write and create songs on the piano, he was hooked. He fell in love with the whole process.

After obtaining and learning the tools necessary, Olie was able to focus on creating what you will hear today. Olie’s songs were born. Olie says his creative process works like this, “Once you have the emotion for a song, once you have the inspiration for a song, once you know the chords,  the bass will come into your head and the drums are just the cherry on top. It is all about the 5 senses when it comes to songwriting. If you have the taste for music, if you have the sense for songwriting, if you have the ear for a melody, if you have the touch for an instrument and the smell of passion – you are good to go.” Listen and you realize this young artist has all those things.

get acquainted with with complete brilliance of newcomer Giift and her latest self-produced track “Get Down.” Traditional R&B songwriting blends effortlessly with contemporary self-produced instrumentation to form a track that hits the souls whilst spanning eras. Speaking about Get Down singersongwriter-producer Giift explains “It feels like a new sound for me, but also one that felt very natural. For me, it’s about getting older and stepping into a ‘new life’ and realizing that things change around you and sometimes there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s about preparing yourself for what comes while still being in touch with yourself and your own values.”

“Save me – is about finally moving on in a relationship, and meeting someone new instantly and thinking these can take the pain away or replace that thing that you’ve lost, it started off as a garage record but we wanted to make it more of a justice / prodigy record, keep it in the vain of indie sleaze and dance music, the juxtaposition between the verses and the hook on the song is a real stand out moment and I feel it shows my vocal delivery in its best light.” – Master Peace

the formidable Italian DJ/production duo Mind Against releases their new Love Seeking EP. Featuring the previously released soulful title track alongside an extended and club mix, the EP also includes a climactic remix from the respected German duo Âme. The release is out now via DJ Tennis’s Life and Death label, available on both digital and vinyl.

As Billboard described it in their weekly dance music guide, the original mix of “Love Seeking” is like a “very cold glass of rosé at 6:00 p.m. on a summer Friday … the sonic and spiritual opposite of the duo’s typically dark and more pummeling output, but which proves they can do both equally well.” The track may be a departure from their established sound with its euphoric backdrop, but it serves as a full-circle moment for Mind Against, who influenced a massive wave of melodic house and techno back in 2013 with their debut release Atlant, also on Life and Death.

This EP is very special to us as it marks our return to our very first label,” remarks Mind Against on Love Seeking. “Since the release of our Atlant EP in 2013, both ourselves and Life and Death have grown our own paths, and it’s a great feeling being back to our very first mothership with an artistic proposal transcending the usual genre boundaries.”

With full reckless abandon, Southern California trio Sun Room today releases their latest EP Can’t Explain via AWAL. Sonically sitting somewhere between Beatlemania, a Nuggets compilation, and modern surf-punk, the four-song offering sees Sun Room beginning to morph their sound. While holding onto elements of their signature 60s inspired charm, they also step into new genres informed by the bands they’ve spent the last three years on the road with — Stream.

Produced by Jarvis Taveniere (Allah-Las, The Avalanches), longtime collaborator Jonny Bell (The Gun Club, Chicano Batman) and LA super-duo SameSame (Beyoncé, Cage The Elephant), it’s a no brainer that new influences have seeped into the Sun Room psyche.

Opening up with the EP’s title track, the band takes more of a blues rock approach. Mellowing out their classic beachy harmonies while sprinkling in jazzier elements, this one is a creeper before lead singer Luke Asgian unleashes his scream. The most shoegaze-y, grunge sound we’ve heard from Sun Room yet, the droning second track “Bouquet” feels like a medicinally distorted haze.

Traveling from their home of the beach quite literally to the city for “Get Me Outta New York City,” Sun Room dials things up just to spite anyone who has pigeonholed them to one specific regional sound.  And closing the EP with the reverse of a love song, “Hate It When You Call” is cheeky and instantly a feel-good listen. The band shared that they created this one with the intention of making people dance and mosh. Their goal is for dance clubs to have more rock options to add to their rotation, knowing it will still keep bodies moving. Watch the official video here. No matter which genres Sun Room chooses to toy around with, it’s a given that they feel like they’re from a different time altogether.

“This EP is the most excited we’ve been for a release,” shares Asgian. “It’s kind of the first time we didn’t worry about having to write within a certain sub-genre. We just got in the garage and tried to make the best rock and roll songs we could. Touring the past few years with so many cool acts from the UK, Ireland and Australia opened our eyes to a bunch of bands and sounds we were unfamiliar with growing up in Southern California. They introduced us to all the bands they grew up with and influenced them and kind of re-inspired us all over again to be playing in a rock and roll band.”

MARIS
“Salt Water Taffy”

• MARIS releases “Salt Water Taffy,” co-written with members of flor, Dylan Bauld (Halsey, Liam Payne, MisterWives) and Val Hoyt. She recently played Boston Calling alongside Ed Sheeran and Reneé Rapp, is on the lineup for Vermont’s upcoming Wallflower Fest, and will be supporting Melt on their first North American tour kicking off this October.

• “I wanted ‘Salt Water Taffy’ to feel like summertime as a kid – the smell of rolling in the grass, the taste of salt water taffy from this old candy store called the Sweet Palace in Philipsburg, Montana, and the feeling of sunscreen on my skin. I wrote it with Dylan Bauld and Val Hoyt, and it started with a chord progression that we loved. I based the lyrics on a line from a poem I had written earlier that week that went ‘gave you all of my vacation days,’ and from there it formed into my ode to summertime.” — MARIS

COLBIE CAILLAT & DONAVON FRANKENREITER
“All I Ever Wanted”

• “I’ve always loved Donavon’s relaxed and soothing music and his impeccable style. I am so grateful to be singing on this beautiful song that makes you feel like you’re on a tropical vacation and with a heart full of love and peace.” — Colbie Caillat

• “All I Ever Wanted” marks Caillat’s first release since her much-lauded, country-tinged 2023 album, Along The Way, featuring “Worth It” and “I’ll Be Here” with Sheryl Crow. She is currently on the road with Gavin DeGraw and will be hitting the festival circuit later this year with dates in the UK and western United States.

• Caillat continues to impress after nearly two decades of career success. To date, she has been honored with two Grammy Awards, earned numerous RIAA Platinum and Gold certifications, and accumulated more than 15 billion streams across her catalog.

With over 1.5 billion streams under their belt, Los Angeles-based DJ duo Loud Luxury release their anticipated single “Cool Like That” featuring hip-hop heavyweight Bobby Shmurda. Get it HERE via Armada Music.

Earlier this year Bobby reached out to jump in the studio with Loud Luxury to record, as his love for dance music grew immensely after not being able to listen to anything explicit while serving time. His affection for the genre is based heavily around its upbeat energy and positive messaging, serving as manifestos for the new direction of his life. Andrew and Joe (Loud Luxury) created the perfect beat for Bobby to express himself, producing the song around his vocals. The result, “Cool Like That,” is a big room banger that will have fans everywhere blasting the rest of the year.

About the song Loud Luxury says, “The story of this song actually goes back to when we started DJing in college when Bobby Shmurda’s early music would absolutely level the dancefloor of any bar we played at. Fast forward many years (and parties) later, Bobby wanted to try to channel the 90s music he grew up on, so we got in the studio and in 4 hours we built the entire song out of a freestyle he did over one of our beats. There’s a reason it’s unexpected – because none of us thought this would work, but that’s exactly what makes this track so special.”

The song arrives the week after Loud Luxury took the stage at Lollapalooza last Friday, where they were joined by Bobby Shmurda on stage for a surprise live performance of the song.

Making something nostalgic feel brand new, indie-rock band Never Ending Fall today releases their new record American Disco via Create Music Group. A stark genre pivot from their 2020 debut album Space City, the new music feels almost like a different band altogether. But in reality, it’s a group of best friends since a fated 4th grade talent show performance. They cite hearing Turnstile’s GLOW ON as one of the major moments of inspiration for the kind of energy they want to bring to their own music. The last 5 years have transformed a once hesitant band into one their former selves would be proud of with this release — Stream.

Lifelong friends and bandmates, the Maryland natives made the move to Los Angeles a few years ago to take a serious stab at their music careers. In a strange twist of events, the thing that put them on the map was their hit TikTok series ‘Can it Kirkland’  where they compare name brand liquor and Costco’s Kirkland Signature brand. After becoming beloved figures of the internet, a whole new audience was tuned into their music.

Spending time on the road this last year with Quarters of Change and Sawyer Hill, the concept of writing for the live show experience became a no brainer for NEF. American Disco was recorded in the band’s LA home with Adam Schoeller (WILLOW, lovelytheband, DE’WAYNE) and allowed for the guys to evolve their production chops. American Disco acknowledges the US as a cultural epicenter, one where an artist has the privilege to be influenced by countless sources.

Never Ending Fall shares that, “‘American Disco’ is more than just a new album for us; it establishes a brand new chapter for our sound and image. The album reflects upon heartbreak, new love, old love, the trials and tribulations of life through an indie rock and borderline punk sound. We take pride in our ability to convey all our different inspirations while remaining unique and individual.”

Breakout Cleveland rap star Doe Boy returns today with the release of his new single “Special,” featuring Skilla Baby and Flo Milli. The new record, produced by Gentle Beatz, is the latest stop on the Freebandz/Epic Records star’s journey to a new project in 2024.

The official music video for “Special” is on the way. Stream the new song at all DSPs here.

Doe Boy is known for his penchant for grizzly street anthems and subtle trap melodies, and he’s allowed his affinity for both to drive the sound of “Special,” an anthem that pays homage to the ladies. The song was first previewed on Doe Boy’s TikTok, where it riled up his audience anticipation of the song’s eventual release. “I need to add this to my playlist, drop it NOW,” said one user. Today, Doe obliges that request with star-laden assistance: Flo Milli, of “Never Lose Me” fame and Skilla Baby (“Gorgeous”) join Doe Boy in saluting faithful girlfriends on “Special.”

Doe Boy began the year with considerable momentum that continues with the release of “Special.” Shortly following the release of his latest full-length project, last year’s BeezyDoe’s “Way Too Long” single was synced into a widely popular Apple Music iPhone 15 promo, a lofty commercial placement for an artist at any level. (The commercial has surpassed five million views.) Since then, he’s teased fans with street singles like “Say It To My Face” and “Huh,” which have generated significant buzz. Notably, he has spent this summer on the road with YG, with the tour hitting Anaheim, CA this Saturday and San Diego, CA this Sunday. The tour is set to conclude on November 30th in Phoenix, AZ. See below for full itinerary.

With a handful of buzzworthy and fast-rising singles in rotation, Doe Boy’s 2024 campaign is shaping up to be a memorable one. The rapper’s ‘prominent’ position, per XXL Magazine, gives him an opportunity to strike while his iron is hot. With songs like “Special” coming out, it only stands to get hotter. Stay tuned for more new music, coming this year.

Brazilian producer/DJ Cour T. has returned to the label with a new collaborative single ‘Hihi’ with fellow Curitiba-bred up-and-comer Linkage out now via Dirtybird Records.

The follow up to Cour T.’s debut album Brain Deals, ‘Hihi’ continues to showcase the breadth of talent coming out of Brazil. Teaming up with his childhood friend Linkage, ‘Hihi’ is a quirky deep-tech cut created for dark dancefloors and sweaty warehouses. Amidst bubbly vocal chops, ‘Hihi’ glides with eclectic percussion and thumping basslines. ‘Hihi’ is an amusing addition to Cour T.’s extensive collection of Dirtybird originals.

Based in Curitiba, Cour T. is a unique testament to Dirtybird’s far-ranging and long-lasting impact. In 2019, Cour T. signed ‘Black Magic’, the first track he ever produced, to the label. Since then, Cour T. has become a regular face on Dirtybird with seven EP releases and regular appearances at their Campout and CampINN events. Last year, Cour T. released his debut album, Brain Deals, which saw support from tastemakers like Mochakk and The Martinez Brothers.

Linkage is an emerging Brazilian producer coming up alongside Cour T. Among the few Brazilians who have released on Solomun’s Diynamic, Linkage has also released on CUFF, DRT Records and Cour T.’s Colapso imprint. Linkage’s originals have gained support from prominent figures such as Seth Troxler, Vintage Culture, Amine Edge, Sirus Hood, Chloe Caillet, Joris Voorn, Meca, and Reelow.

Cour T. and Linkage invite the flock to stream their new single ‘Hihi’ out now on all platforms.

First Hood River, Oregon’s, now the world’s alt-pop darlings, flor, have released a surprise single for the fans titled “Painted.” A summertime song for falling in love, the band slides comfortably into the pocket they inhabit so well, not letting the warm months slip by without the release of this track. Although they sing, “It ain’t about the words, it’s about the feel of it” flor’s lyrics illustrate such a vibrant portrait of all-encompassing love — Stream

“Every interaction with someone leaves its mark and when you see and hear and talk and feel that someone everyday — well eventually they paint you into something extraordinary,” shares singer Zach Grace. “I think this track is gonna paint a smile on a lot of people’s faces.”

Rising pop singer and songwriter Leah Mason presents her highly-anticipated debut album,HEXED, out on all streaming platforms today. The album arrives alongside the music video for the title track, “HEXED.”

Labeled as an “undeniable talent” by People Magazine on the heels of her debut EP, Honeydew & Hennessy, Leah quickly emerged as one of Nashville’s most exciting young stars. Always eager push the boundaries of her sound, she broke away from the familiar last year and ventured to Sweden to work with producer Simon Jonasson on her debut album, HEXED. After two and a half weeks, Leah emerged from the studio with a collection of meticulously crafted pop tracks that showcase her artistic breadth. HEXED is proof positive that Leah has found her place in pop, and she’s here to stay.

HEXED is without a doubt Leah’s most confident, raw and real project to date. Just like any 24-year-old, Leah has spent the past few years navigating the tender passage from adolescence to adulthood. It’s a time wrought with heavy emotions, big life decisions, first loves and heartbreaks, transitional friendships, and figuring out who you really are. Across the album’s 13 tracks, she takes the intensity of young adulthood and bottles it up into a selection of universally relatable songs, ranging from tongue-in-cheek, angst-driven anthems to heartfelt musings on love and loss.

I’ve never felt such deep heartbreak, anger, resentment, betrayal, or frustration than I have in the past year, but I’ve also never loved as deeply, felt as confident, or been as outspoken,” says Leah. “It was so fun to create music that made me feel so creatively fulfilledIt was like nothing I had ever experienced before. I hope my album helps others feel seen, and I hope that it helps people understand me as well.”

‘Suddenly It’s Easy’ is the final track to be revealed from Izzy S.O’s new EP ‘Homesick’

completing a dazzling 5-track record. The new single is a grounding and honest reflection on

some of Izzy’s more tumultuous times.

Bringing her resilience and considered songwriting into the spotlight, she shared: “I have struggled with OCD since I was about thirteen, it made me feel like I needed to be perfect and it added a lot of pressure to things that I could have enjoyed had they not been clouded by the OCD part of my brain that feels the need to control everything. ‘Suddenly it’s Easy’ is about finding the space to breathe, finding the space to enjoy my life – it’s about being free of the idea that I need to be perfect and

just trusting that things are going to be ok.”

Homesick is Izzy’s third EP to be released and it represents the value in making the time to take a step back and take a breath. Sometimes you have to take that moment for yourself, Izzy explained further: ‘When we are caught up in the madness of everything – life can feel overwhelming and scary but if you take a moment to slow down and sit back from yourself, then there is peace behind the chaos.’

Making peace with the transitoriness of life and death can bring so much clarity and perspective. ‘Homesick’ sees Izzy get to grips of what it means to be alive. This EP is your reminder to get back to the root of things; go for a good walk, stay away from your phone, spend real time with the people you love. See below for the track list;

Insomnio marks Nicky’s first LP in 3 years and will include features from Sean Paul, Feid, Eladio Carrion, and more. The 14 track record includes previously released singles “Calor” ft. Beele, “Chicokis” ft. Ryan Castro, and “Cangrinaje” ft. Trueno. See full tracklisting below.

Ty Sunderland’s rework of the 90s dance floor classic brings “If You Had My Love” into the world of house music while paying respects to the groundbreaking original track. As Lopez’s first-ever single, it marked a pivotal milestone in her already-prolific career. Tastefully nodding to the electronic music of the late 1990s and early 2000s, this rework memorializes the 25th anniversary of its release in Ty Sunderland’s trademark style.

Earlier this summer, Sunderland joined forces with Galantis to unveil Pride Pack, a collection of two remixes from Galantis’ new album RxPride Pack includes Ty Sunderland’s remixes of “Lighter” by Galantis with David Guetta and 5 Seconds of Summer, and “One Cry” by Galantis with Rosa Linn. Today’s release continues a hot streak of new music releases from the renowned event producer transitioning into the music space, with more to be announced.

For her latest single, Violet Whimsey has released a faith based love song, “Sunday Sonnet” and first ever official music video in the genre of adult alternative before the full album release in September. Born out of a time of desperation, “Sunday Sonnet” details the intimate relationship with the Universe and the hope it inspires, despite suffering through the lowest of times. Her ninth single starts off markedly melancholic, before the sound lifts into a realm that feels ethereal and filled with other-worldly hope. Violet Whimsey is a music project led by Ann Kim, and while she has released songs with a band, we can expect a continued mix of songs that are at times collaborative, or other times solo, based on what the song requires.
