Award-winning and Billboard-charting artist Flamy Grant is a shame-slaying, hip-swaying, singing-songwriting drag queen from Asheville, North Carolina who continues to take on the evangelical establishment with her latest release “Last Days” featuring Chris Housman, out on July 12. The single, “a much needed reminder and message of hope,” is premiering today exclusively at The Honey Pop.
The track addresses the firestorm that launched Flamy Grant’s debut album Bible Belt Baby to the top of the iTunes Christian music charts. In July 2023, Flamy drew ire from worship leader Sean Feucht as he declared that it was “truly the last days” while posting a picture of Grant with other current and former Christian musicians including Derek Webb, Jennifer Knapp, and Plumb on X, formerly Twitter.
“an empowering country anthem about hatred and bigotry coming to an end… Flamy’s powerful vocals, along with Chris Housman’s shine through in this dynamic track” – The Honey Pop
“If these truly are the last days,” say Grant, “let them be the last days of bigotry, shame, and gatekeeping. I hope ‘Last Days’ will serve as a celebratory rally cry for Christians who are tired of their faith being used to tyrannize and politically persecute the LGBTQ+ community, women, BIPOC folks, and everyone else currently suffering at the hands of evangelicals who have sold their integrity for political power.”
multi-hyphenate musician, songwriter, and record producer Frank Iero has released the highly anticipated deluxe 10-year anniversary edition of his debut studio album, Stomachaches, titled XNauseousX.
Coinciding with the release, Frank Iero has also put out a new music video for his original song “2.5mg Just Ain’t Enough For Me.” To create this, he sourced fan clips over the course of two days and received over 2,000 submissions. Select fan videos have been incorporated into the final product, resulting in a montage commemorating each of them and their support for his music.
Frank Iero has shared his thoughts on today’s release day below:
“Release days are always special for creators. It’s a wonderful thing getting to watch the art you made in the confines of your own little world finally be relinquished and spread out, reaching other people all over the world. But this type of release day might be even more precious because not only is it a release of material, but it’s also a coming of age birthday celebration (or cellabration yuk yuk) of sorts as well. Stomachaches is now 10 years old and will finally be able to carry with it all the other pieces that make it whole, like we all do on a daily basis. And I’m proud to share what it is, for better or worse, because it makes me who I am. Enjoy. xofrnk 2014-2024”
This record’s deluxe edition boasts 12 tracks, including some brand-new songs, live recordings, and covers for fans to enjoy. Following the release of his neew single last week, “This Song Is A Curse,” this album also includes the fan-favorite, heavy-hitting hardcore punk song “Give Me Liberty, But Give Me Depth.”
AWOLNATION has released his eagerly awaited full length album, ‘The Phantom Five’ today. Composed of ten tracks, Aaron Bruno aka AWOLNATION says he “wrote this album with the intention that it could possibly be the final AWOLNATION album”. It includes the previously released singles and music videos for “Panoramic View”, “Jump Sit Stand March’ feat. Emily Armstrong and “I Am Happy” feat. Del The Funky Homosapien. Today, the music video for “Barbarian” can be seen here.
“I’ve always wanted to make something like Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”’,” says Aaron Bruno on the video. “This video is nothing like that, because nothing could be like that beautiful video – but we had fun finding and shooting it at the same location with a sarcastic twist on the concept.”
On the song, he explains “I read The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka before I wrote this record, and I love the concept of me transforming from this AWOLNATION project into new projects like my new Barbarians of California hardcore metal thrash project. That’s the conflict of the song, and it was inspired by a guy changing into a bug.”
‘The Phantom Five’ is a collection of ten songs that highlights every different impulse and urge Bruno has learned to master with AWOLNATION in a cohesive, anthemic pastiche of modern music. It functions almost as a “greatest hits” album, in the sense that it offers something for everyone who has followed the band’s arc in its celebrated, shape-shifting way. ‘The Phantom Five’ is concerned with trying to find one’s way to happiness in a bizarrely upside-down time.
“I wrote this album with the intention that it could possibly be the final AWOLNATION album,” continues Bruno. “I wanted the challenge and inspiration of that idea. I’m not sure if it will actually be the last album, but I wanted to create that narrative to push myself with it and put everything I have into these songs.”
Global rock phenomenon and “Samurai Guitarist”, MIYAVI, has revealed details surrounding his upcoming new album ‘Lost In Love’ out October 9 via Rise Records. The news, album artwork and track listing were unveiled yesterday exclusively on Billboard.com. With the announcement comes the release of the single “We Stay Up All Night” which is available to stream now on all platforms.
“This album represents a three-year journey of sonic exploration, where I allowed the creative process to lead the way,” says MIYAVI on the new album. “I intentionally took my time with this record, stepping outside my artistic comfort zone to push my boundaries and craft my best work. It’s been a vulnerable place to be after so many years in the music industry, but I knew it was necessary.
I was fortunate to collaborate with a diverse group of artists whose influences have woven their way into the album, with MIYAVI’s signature guitar serving as the unifying thread. My life has always been split between Japan and the U.S., and that duality is deeply reflected in this album. Some tracks hit hard, while others are just pure fun, giving the record a split personality. Lost in Love is the culmination of a lifetime of experiences, encapsulating all the facets of who I am as MIYAVI.”

What is holding you back from healing? Press play to immerse yourself in Criibaby’s lush soundscapes & ethereal vocals– and find your own answer to this question along the way. when i’m alone i feel weightless is the debut full-length album from gender-neutral artist Criibaby. From start to finish, the ambient yet electrified autumn album builds a world around the nuances of soft queerness and what it means to grow: cherishing gentleness, embracing your sensitivity, and allowing your truth to finally bloom. The album, in the artist’s own words, is about “fighting the universal temptation to run away from yourself.” The result is twelve songs that find a way through the swirling winds of trauma and past wounds, ultimately reaching newfound healing and growth. Uncovering the deep roots of old weeds and pulling them out, planting new seeds, and learning how to nourish them. Born in September, Criibaby came into this world during the changing of the seasons, and it is only fitting that this album feels like eternally reaching for transcendence. Despite its heavy themes, the cool sonics blend new age with neo-soul and lofi aesthetics. Sade slow dancing with Joanna Newsom. ASMR-like “found sounds” take you deeper into a gentler world. Transcendent acoustic pop suitable for meditation spaces and sensory deprivation tanks. With production credits from Surfer Dave, G Mills, imagiro, Somni, and Joe Nora, songwriter and poetic lyricist Criibaby has curated and created tender sound baths welcoming listeners to dip their toes in– or completely submerge. Every song is a soundscape inside itself. when i’m alone i feel weightlessis an introspective journey with a soft purple aesthetic– the wispy cotton candy clouds of a perpetual sunset. Through and through, this is a therapeutic album of letting go, moving forward, and remembering you are worthy of love. It’s about practicing and encouraging gentleness through both human connection and self-discovery. Criibaby’s lyrics intentionally leave room for interpretation, allowing anyone to picture themselves as the main character in each story. This means never defining pronouns or specific names, only sharing universal feelings and relatable truths, in a conscious effort to create more inclusive music. This unique songwriting approach expresses the nuance of queerness from their perspective, in turn helping Criibaby become the representation they were seeking while questioning their own identity. “I couldn’t find any soft queer fairy tales when I was growing up, so I wrote my own.” Experiencing this freedom makes the LP emotional yet magical: a coming-of-age story for ethereal mystics. This is bioluminescence in auditory form. Listen if you like Rhye, Bonobo, Imogen Heap, Lorde, Frou Frou, Bat for Lashes, Phoebe Bridgers. Listen if you’ve ever been inspired to climb a ladder to be closer to the moon. This is inclusive and inviting music, free of judgment, free of genre. Criibaby provides a new style reminiscent of these aforementioned artists yet packed with a 2024 modernity, refreshing and authentic and true.
hard techno’s explosive it-girl Sara Landry unravels her highly-anticipated debut album – ‘Spiritual Driveby’ – set to arrive on October 4 via her imprint HEKATE. A collaborative offering that transcends convention, ‘Spiritual Driveby’ blurs the lines between the underground and the avant-garde, delivering a high-octane demonstration of Landry’s artistic duality and intuitive depth.
A sonic alchemist transforming hard techno sounds into transcendent experiences, Sara Landry is an irrefutable force captivating global obsession and overhauling the scene through her dark, driving and divinely feminine lens. Just as Landry is more than a DJ, ‘Spiritual Driveby’ emerges as so much more than an album. The 12-track opus is a pulsating testament to the power of collective energy, one which unfolds as a visceral odyssey meant to feel both intensely personal and universally shared.
A ceremonial experience where the sacred interplay of collaboration is as integral to the music as the sounds themselves, each track was produced alongside Landry’s friends and industry counterparts including the likes of legendary producer Mike Dean, Nico Moreno, Shlømo, Aaron Hibell, LEGZDINA, Alex Farell and even her personal hypnotist, Restorative Hypnosis whose mesmerizing vocals can be heard on the album’s prelude.
From Sara Landry: “This sonic offering was motivated and inspired by the notion that none of us are alone because we are all energetically linked. Everything we do is interwoven and collaborative, whether we realize it or not. Every musical experience we’ve ever had, every show we’ve been to, every euphoric moment that echoes across time has been a collaborative experience and a stacking of energies. The experiences themselves only manifest just so because of the energetic contributions of every single individual that is present. Similarly, these parties are only what they are because of the energy everyone brings and the frequency we ascend to when we vibrate together.
Through ‘Spiritual Driveby’, Landry doesn’t just ask you to listen – she demands that you participate, that you bring your own energy and release it to the tangling frequencies that vibrate around you. A vessel in which each track reveals a ritual in its own right; every beat is infused with intention, the brazen balance between rebellion and reverence. Amidst unrelenting force and thunderous basslines, Landry conjures a sense of convergence intertwined with profound conviction – Where the introspective intersects the expansive. A poignant reminder that music thrives on interaction and the unspoken synergy that exists in sonic unity on the dancefloor, ‘Spiritual Driveby’ arrives as a collective sojourn that evokes communal chaos while simultaneously embracing the solace found within the highest of BPMs.
From Sara Landry: “I want to extend a massive thank you to the artists I collaborated with on this body of work. You are all so talented and I’m grateful we could create together. These sessions with you over the last 4 months have made me fall back in love with producing after 15 long months of writer’s block, and for that I am eternally grateful. Most importantly: thank you to you, the listeners, for it is only with your support that I am able to live this wonderful, creative life and have the privilege of spending all my time creating and playing this music for you. This journey has been the greatest joy of my life so far.”
FEVER 333 have released another new single taken from their upcoming album “DARKER WHITE” out October 4. Fans can now stream and watch the music video for “DESERT RAP”.
“If you hope to be an instrument for change, you must remember to keep said instrument sharp,” says Jason Aalon on the new song out today. “Fatigue will find you if you don’t find yourself first. On the micro and macro level, this song serves as a reminder that when trying to do right by the people remember you as a person as well.”
Critically acclaimed London based Dutch artist Tessa Rose Jackson is back with her newest single, ‘Stick In The Mud’ set for release on September 6th. This sultry and unapologetic love song is the latest taste of Jackson’s forthcoming EP, ‘A Mirror Sometimes’, which will be released on January 17th, 2025.
In “Stick In The Mud,” Jackson marries classic Hollywood romance with indie grit, creating a unique soundscape that blends sweeping orchestral strings with grungy, Elliott Smith-inspired textures. “How often do you get to record a classic Hollywood string ensemble for an indie song? Not often, I’ll tell you!” Jackson shares. “The song has an almost tongue-in-cheek melodrama to it, so we thought: let’s push it all the way. We combined two worlds that, in our minds, epitomise the word drama: the sweeping romantic strings of old Hollywood movies with the grungy chug of Elliott Smith band tracks.”
‘Stick In The Mud’ is a heartfelt ode to a friend with a broken heart. As Jackson describes it, “It’s a sultry, no-bullshit love song for a friend in the throes of heartbreak. Forget me not, your stick-in-the-mud / Might be old news, but I know you.” The track was co-written with Milo of The Shells, whose influence is felt in its distinctive blend of humor and heartache.
In addition to her upcoming EP, Jackson recently contributed to the new edition of the wildly popular indie video game, Life Is Strange, which boasts a fanbase in the millions. The game’s announcement trailer features Jackson’s track ‘Illusion’. This track, now available on DSPs, has quickly become one of her most popular pieces. You can listen to ‘Illusion’ HERE.
Her highly anticipated EP ‘A Mirror Sometimes,’ is a project that promises to continue Jackson’s exploration of emotional nuance and self-reflection, weaving together lush instrumentation and introspective lyrics.
Fans and newcomers alike are invited to experience the unique artistry of Tessa Rose Jackson as she continues to push the boundaries of indie music with “Stick In The Mud” and the upcoming EP, ‘A Mirror Sometimes’.
the high priestess of hard techno, Sara Landry unveils her latest electrifying single, “Because They Want Our Seat,” a collaboration alongside techno titan, Nico Moreno. Arriving via Landry’s HEKATE imprint on Friday, September 6, the track comes as the next high-octane hit off of her forthcoming debut album as the it-girl of the movement continues to build anticipation around its release.
Capturing the very essence of hard techno, “Because They Want Our Seat” immediately submerges listeners deep into the recesses of the underground, with a raw cadence and transfixing rhythm that drives the track forward. Showcasing not only the undeniable synergy between Landry and Moreno but also their profound technical mastery, the track unleashes an infectious, unrelenting energy, anchored by thunderous basslines and roaring beats.
Seamlessly entwining both artist’s distinct styles, the track delivers a gripping listening experience at nothing less than breakneck speed. Pushing the sonic envelope at 160 BPM, “Because They Want Our Seat” deliberately blends Landry’s brazen, bold and divinely feminine brand of hard techno with Moreno’s transcendent industrial influence and hypnotic rhythms – creating a viscerally addictive track that’s nothing short of pure alchemy.
