Born and raised in Spain, Dalia brings her heritage into “bellyfish” with a Spanish hook that adds a unique twist to the song. The track is an intense and emotional dive into a relationship that was both exhilarating and destructive.

“This song is about that person who can turn your world upside down,” says Dalia. “It’s about a love that was passionate and all-consuming, but also made me feel incredibly vulnerable and fragile. There was this constant fear lingering in the back of my mind that this person could leave me at any moment, and that terrified me. We were so dependent on each other that it became a cycle of extreme highs and devastating lows. It’s one of those situations where you know it won’t end well, but you keep going because the pull is just that strong.’’

With gritty guitar riffs and raw vocals “bellyfish” showcases Dalia’s growth as an artist and gives fans a taste of what’s to come in her upcoming EP.

emerging indie-pop singer-songwriter EDDY shares an enchanting new single, ‘concrete’. Featuring her blissful, euphonious vocals accompanied by the sound of her acoustic guitar, EDDY offers a gentle and melodic track that is sure to captivate the hearts of listeners.

‘concrete’ is available now on your streaming service of choice via APOLLO Distribution.

Listen to ‘concrete’ below:

‘‘Concrete’ is an exploration into new love and the process of trusting that someone is truly good for you. I wrote it one evening in my bedroom and it kept unfolding in this gorgeous tentative love song. It’s about seeing this new person in your life in everything around you and coming to the realisation that this is the first healthy love you’ve known. It’s about the appreciation of the support they bring. But it’s shy, and it’s slightly unsure, and it’s guarded. I think you can hear that in the track with the soft vocals and gentle melodies; it reflects that pensive, fresh relationship when someones been hurt before. The line in the first verse about the parachute is my favourite; it sums up the song perfectly.” – EDDY

André 3000, one of Hip Hop’s great craftsmen, writers and performers, brings his woodwind passion full circle today with the world premiere of the album’s official visual component, Listening To The Sun (an intimate album film for New Blue Sun 11/17/2023), a 90-minute long short film (or visual listening session). The feature, directed by Terence Nance (Random Acts of Flyness) and premiered on YouTube, is a performance art piece that finds André physically channeling the spirit of his latest studio album set in a serene, blue-lit setting with his aura and flute taking centerstage.

“I hope you enjoy the ride as much as we did. What you hear is what we did as it was happening,” André 3000 says about the “formations” that comprise New Blue Sun at the onset of his new short film. The artist and multihyphenate, with the help of just a few props (including a lit candle and a traffic cone), provides a captivating visual companion to his first studio album, which will perhaps serve as inspiration for how to experience the eight-track LP.

André was candid with GQ in a November cover story about his inspirations behind the album. “I’d like to make things that when I’m dead and gone 3,000 years from now, people may dig up and find,” he said. “So if that’s sculpting, if that’s actually physical artwork, painting, designing instruments, that’s where I’m at right now.” The Atlanta-bred artist’s audience, cultivated during parts of three decades, is on that journey with him.

The album’s staying power has matched its intrigue, as it peaks once again at no. 1 on the Current Alternative Albums Chart this week, to go with a no. 2 slot on the LP Vinyl Chart. André and his flute have got something to say, and the world is both listening and witnessing it live. André 3000 will tour his debut LP for the second time this year in September, when he kicks off a 26-date North American trek beginning September 19 in New Orleans, and concludes on November 14 in André’s hometown of Atlanta.

André 3000’s flute path, which has taken him from the Venice coast where he met the manufacturer of his first flute, to a North American tour of his new album, has led him to yet another point on his exploration timeline: Listening to The Sun. Watch the new short film on YouTube, available HERE.

Blondestandard, also known as Caroline Grace Vein, truly embodies what it means to set the standard. Born and raised in the vibrant cultural landscape of LA, Caroline’s early exposure to the eclectic mix of sounds and stories within the city’s entertainment scene has deeply influenced her artistic journey. This journey took a dramatic turn with a challenging cancer diagnosis shortly after releasing her first two singles, transforming her path not only into a battle for health but a profound period of artistic and personal growth. Through two years of adversity, Vein channeled her creativity into writing and recording through her treatment, deepening her craft and connection to music.

Her sound, a dynamic fusion of alternative rock tinged with pop sensibility and enriched by funk grooves, reflects the depth of Vein’s eclectic influences and her personal evolution. Defined by authenticity and emotional depth, blondestandard stands out as a distinctive voice in the indie music scene.

Her single “arms of another” explores the deep emotions of disillusionment and the longing for genuine connections. It’s about being caught between the fantasy of finding comfort in fleeting, often unhealthy relationships and the stark reality of needing to seek deeper, more meaningful bonds with the people who truly matter in our lives. The song reflects on the complexities of human emotions and relationships, as well as the challenging journey toward self-awareness and authenticity.

With a musical style that incorporates UK club, Jersey Club, pop, R&B, and throwback hip-hop, Ahmad is a versatile artist who can truly do it all. Ahmad radiates natural charisma and infectious energy, while busting out dance moves and flashing his signature big smile while commanding the spotlight. A hopeless romantic and an out-and-proud gay man, his music is confidently built around themes of personal empowerment, wild nights, love, and sex, where he explores the out-of- this-world fantasies that ruminate in his head.

Born in Tashikawahi-shi, Tokyo, Japan, Ahmad first discovered his love for singing and performing while at church and holds a BFA in Dance from Florida State University. Music for him has always been his chosen medium of self-expression, inspiration, and self-healing.

powerhouse singer-songwriter Ruti shares a stunning new single ‘Break My Own Heart’, marking a triumphant return after the success of their EP ‘Lungs’ earlier this year. In their own words; “Break your own heart’ is simply about overthinking.” The new track is a sonic spectacle, enveloped in electronic, pop and alternative elements, to create a unique fusion of styles and sounds. US-born, East London-based DJ, producer and creative Luc unleashes his hotly anticipated EP Do As You’re Told – dropped via CROWD.

Backed by FJAAK’s new techno label CROWD, following placement across the Berlin duo’s BBC RADIO 1 Essential Mix, Luc’s grippingly unique production has soundtracked some of the biggest stages across the globe. From techno nights at UNFOLD and Boiler Room to international festivals incl. Awakenings, ADE, Knockdown Center and Junction 2, Do As You’re Told EP has already earned serious plays from the likes of Patrick Mason, VTSS, Nastia, Elli Acula, DJ LOVE, Estella Boersma and more – solidifying Luc’s presence in Dance culture as he becomes one of the most exciting and refreshing new names across the underground.

Now officially hitting airwaves alongside an exclusive vinyl run with selected record stores in Europe, the four-track EP instantly distils the raw energy and sound of techno while holding grooves across hard house, breakbeat and acid. Punctuated with tribal kinetics and powerful, sample-driven elements, the culture clash of sound becomes warped by Luc’s deep understanding of musical subcultures to create a bigger, richer, more multi-layered tone from the offset.

Opening with the potent “I Don’t Get Down Like That”, UK-infused synths and rolling drum breaks set pace as the punchy soundwaves quickly fuse into the title track “Do As You’re Told” – a certified club weapon with seismic low-end and choppy percussion perfect for any darkened rave setting.

“The Cold” emerges as a more stripped-back and pensive offering, boasting Detroit-style influences that further showcase Luc’s diverse musical makeup before continuing the club-focus streak with “Freak” – closing out the EP with high-octane grooves and pockets that shift underground techno into a fresh format.

Speaking on his music, Luc mentions: “I want to capture that frenetic energy of being in the rave, that feeling that allows you to escape your mind and go into your body… Where you lose perception of your surroundings and yet are keenly aware of the energy around you. I like to keep this ethos in mind while making music and make tracks that inject all of the influences that have been important to me and have given me this same feeling over my musical journey.”

He adds: “I’m really proud of this EP because I believe it accomplishes this, and it has already travelled the world to hazy dance floors and festival stages to prove it. Eternally grateful to FJAAK and CROWD for their support in sharing and platforming these records and making this release happen.”

Dressed in modern interpretations of royal fashions throughout history, each character can be seen in their own rooms of the estate honing their crafts before coming together for a feast of joint treasures.

Giving us an insight to the video REGALJASON tell us: “Similarly to how I developed the lore behind my artistic persona, REGALJASON, I wrote “I Am” in a time where I needed to continually remind myself of my worth and my dream. To sing along is to challenge yourself to believe in your ability fully despite the doubt and insecurity fed to us by the societies we participate in. “I Am” is both a love letter and a battle cry. I wanted to create a video where people of diverse backgrounds could see regal representations of themselves in all their glory owning and celebrating their identities”

rising British alternative pop band daydreamers share their new single “Don’t Delete My Number.” An earnestly yearning ballad that continues the group’s run of the buoyant, shimmering records that have given them a gleaming early reputation, the song is available at all DSPs HERE via Epic Records/Robots + Humans.

“Don’t Delete My Number,” despite its sunny sonic disposition, plays like the somber downturn to the romantic arc started by the band’s previous singles, “Call Me Up,” “Beach House,” and most recently, “All I Ever Dream About. “Don’t delete my number / Because I still remember this summer,” goes the song’s contagious refrain.” As fall starts to creep into view, daydreamers deliver the wistful summer fling anthem you didn’t know you needed. The song continues to develop daydreamers’ knack for crafting a sound they describe as “sad euphoria.”

Last weekend, after making a slew of buzzing festival appearances over the course of this summer, daydreamers made their debut at the iconic Reading & Leads festival. Up next, the band will be hitting the road this fall in support of fellow UK band Sea Girls. The tour kicks off on September 26 in Sheffield, UK before wrapping on October 12 in Belfast, UK. Previously, daydreamers have opened for acts like Kings of Leon and Palewaves and sold out their first-ever headlining gig in London before even releasing their debut single. See the band’s full tour routing below.

Since their spring 2024 debut, Riley (vocalist), Aurora (bass), Jay (drums) and Marco (guitar), who make up the daydreamers, have experienced their share of fan and critical acclaim. They released their debut single “Call Me Up” just this spring, and it quickly ignited a frenzy on TikTok, translating to several million streams. Garnering the band early critical acclaim from the likes of BBC Radio 1 and MTV UK, they shared “Beach House” and “All I Ever Dream About,” earlier this summer, with Uproxx fittingly proclaiming that “daydreamers display the potential to resonate indefinitely.” It’s not hard to see why.

“To me, daydreamers is ‘Sad Euphoria’,” observes Riley. “The lyrics will tear your heart out, but the music is euphoric. It’s built around playing live. We want to create a space where people are shouting back their feelings to us and we’re all connecting. Even though the emotions are intense and often overwhelming, we’re all optimistic in the moment because we’re together.”

JONATHAN ROY
“Waiting For A Call”

• Jonathan Roy shares the third single from his upcoming Symphony of Doubts album due out later this year. “Waiting For A Call” is a moody song full of heartache that Jonathan co-wrote and produced with Connor Seidel (Charlotte Cardin, Half Moon Run).

• “We’ve all experienced heartbreak at some point in our lives. There are moments when the sadness feels overwhelming, but even in the darkest times, we find the strength to keep going. We push through the pain, holding onto hope, even if we’re waiting for something that may never happen, like a call that never comes. Despite the sorrow, we refuse to bow down, determined to rise above and shake off the heartache.” — Jonathan Roy

Raucously making their debut release today, Girl Tones do not step softly onto the scene with “Fade Away.” Sister duo Kenzie and Laila have shed their classical training to creatively let out something more primordial and raw. Produced by Brad Shultz and recorded at the infamous Nashville studio Battle Tapes, the first single is fortified by fuzzy walls of guitar and a creeping synth line. Dynamically alternating between being sonically massive and pulling back for broken down palm muted parts, Girl Tones straddle their own line between punk and blues rock — Stream via Parallel Vision

Guitarist and vocalist Kenzie shared that, “‘Fade Away’ is about being vulnerable and slowly getting burned over and over again by someone you love, to the point you have to move on with your life. You’re hurt, you’re angry, you’re owed an apology.”

LaFrantz is the culmination of a journey that began in Salt Lake City, where two kindred spirits, Jack and Meg, united by their love for music, decided to chase their dreams together. After forming a band that opened for acts like The Head and the Heart, Cold War Kids, and OK Go, they left behind a promising run to pursue something greater in Los Angeles. The move wasn’t easy—filled with hardships and near breaking points—but their passion for music kept them going. They decided to temporarily shift their focus and try their hands at the songwriting route. It was in L.A. that Jack got called to join a pivotal songwriting session with Benson Boone. That session changed his trajectory, and reignited the creative spark between him and Meg. The pair continued to songwrite for other artists until it became apparent that it was time for them to be the artists again prompting them to launch LaFrantz.

Now, as an established songwriter, Jack has written for artists including Benson Boone, JVKE, Garrix, Bazzi and Bishop Briggs among others.

Their debut single, “RATTLESNAKE” is a modernized, Southern rock n’ roll inspired pop track. The move-inducing wild and raucous song is brought to life through a determined, foot-stomping beat, catchy lyrics and twangy instrumentation. Inspired by 70’s rock n’ roll and artists such as Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, and The Allman Brothers Band, LaFrantz blends past influences with contemporary pop hooks and melodies to craft something that is refreshingly unique, yet comfortingly familiar. “RATTLESNAKE” is a distinctive and infectious track that will slither its way deep into your brain.

With an underlying message that life is too short, the duo shares, “Blast this song when you’re in the car with your windows down and wanting to feel like a badass, when you’re at a party with your friends wanting to DANCE, or when you’re on a dusty desert road-trip wanting to feel like an outlaw.”

LaFrantz are certain to turn heads with “RATTLESNAKE” marking the start of an exciting new chapter.

Born and raised in Toronto, Victoria Staff was always an “anxious child”. The string that connected much of her young life was using music to communicate with family, friends, teachers, and even therapists. Over time, this coping mechanism developed into a passion for music that would lead to her career as an indie-pop artist. Her debut EP “Records & Honesty” was released in 2023, under the guidance of Canadian music producer Dan Hosh. The heavy undertones of her music are offset by her light-hearted personality on stage, on social media, and amongst her peers.  Staff continues to use the written word to communicate with her audience. Her new music continues to focus on story-telling and connecting with her fans.

Hailing from Manchester, R&B singer-songwriter Alex Ko returns to the ether with his latest poetic masterpiece “High On You”.

Floating atop smooth, soul-infused production, Alex’s authentic and direct vocals take centre stage, with nostalgic harmonies and intimate wordplay representing vulnerability within his blossoming artistry. “I get high on you, it’s the vibe you give out, energy like oud, sends me to another place while still connected” he sings, exploring his connection to loved ones with uplifting affirmations whilst effortlessly showcasing his impressively vast range. Shot in North London and directed by up-and-coming film director Liam Rodgers “High On You”’s accompanying video expands on the track’s unapologetically heartfelt narrative which pays tribute to the power of formative relationships. The often-opposing forces that create intimacy, understanding and compassion are explored within the private walls of a home shared by Alex and his partner combined with stylised dance scenes, celebrating the joys of authentic human connection.

Speaking on the track Alex tells us: “’High On You” is a love letter to the people in my life that have always supported my musicality, personal growth and happiness. The song’s a product of me taking time to find a sound that truly resonates, and I love it’s bluesy, soulful quality. Even though it was a product of patience, the lyrics were written in just an hour while sat in my friend’s South London barber shop. The peaks, valleys and joyful melodies make it an all-encompassing experience to perform.”
