Disney has officially found its director for the upcoming The Princess Diaries 3 with Adele Lim set to helm the upcoming film. Lim is best known for co-writing the hit Crazy Rich Asians.
“As a diehard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life,” said Lim in a statement to Deadline. “We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide.”
Unfortunately though Julie Andrews — who played the grandmother to Anne Hathaway’s Mia Thermopolis — has said that she doesn’t think it makes sense for her to return for the third film.
