Ukrainian born and Los Angeles based singer, rapper, and songwriter Alina Pash has released her latest single and music video, “Bad Witch.” Inspired by the witchcraft-centered 2000s TV series Charmed, which was translated in Ukraine to All Women Are Witches, the track celebrates the diverse sides of women and encourages them to be themselves. While historically women were once feared as witches, today the word carries a message of fostering personal and universal growth, a badge Alina wears proudly. The accompanying video finds Alina summoning a modern day coven of it girls. Driven by an insatiable appetite, she awakens the group’s powers as they refuel their broomsticks, steal hearts, and prepare to paint the town blood red.

emerging new artist project Uncommon Addiction unveils his debut single ‘Setting The Night On Fire’. This introductory release from Uncommon Addiction is a powerful instrumental track that delves into the raw emotions of anger, frustration, and sorrow that come with losing someone dear.

New York City/Los Angeles-based alternative singer-songwriter Alexa Dark shares “Alibi“–a glamorous, reckless ode to romanticizing all parts of life, even the forbidden or toxic. The track unfolds like a shimmering 1960s Hollywood film–one that blurs the lines of fantasy and reality and throws Dark into the spotlight.

“Alibi” is a sultry tune that succumbs to boldly, unabashedly following love and lust, even against one’s better judgement. Written with songwriter Simon Oscroft (The Aces, UPSAHL) and mastered by Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys, Mac Miller), Dark shares the track, “came together in a day in LA. It’s inspired by the seductive pull of the forbidden and my habit of over-romanticizing situations and people–even bad ideas and toxic lovers. It’s an ode to that, a fantasy come to life.” It comfortably fits into the enigmatic, mystical sonic universe Dark has built, and neatly prepares a foundation for what may come from the artist.

Raised between Barcelona, London, and NYC, Dark began writing songs and poetry from an early age influenced by an eclectic range of artists from Portishead to Françoise Hardy to Nancy Sinatra. In March 2023, Dark shared her aptly titled haunting debut seven song EP Dark, Vol. Imastered by Grammy-award winner Emily Lazar (Beck, HAIM), and Grammy-nominated Joe Lambert (Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen). The release garnered support from SPIN Magazine, EARMILK and more. Now, Dark returns with a more refined sound, gearing up to cement Dark as a rising alt-pop artist to watch.

Alexa Dark allows herself to romanticize even the riskiest love interest with the smoldering track “Alibi” out now. Dark is just getting started–stay up-to-date with much more in store via InstagramFacebook and YouTube.

This record is a snapshot of what’s been going on in my life, and what’s been happening around me – what’s made me happy or sad, ecstatic or miserable.”

I Am the album arrives September 20, 2024.

The album has already seen impeccable releases in “Burn,” ”Freaking Out,” “Head Underwater” and “Holy Ghost.” Tom gave assured performances of “Burn” and “Freaking Out” on Later…With Jools Holland. Watch HERE & HERE.

The band has put together a special recipe for the new collection of songs. Album ingredients: Lost love, guilt, passion, a dash of social commentary, existential crises, reckless abandon, and honest self-criticism. The upcoming tour will mark the band’s first tour in 6 years. 2024 also marks the 11-year anniversary of the band’s debut album When It Was Now, which features top charting songs including the certified platinum “Trojans” which hit #3 on the US Alternative charts and “If So” which peaked at #8.

Nashville-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Conner Youngblood has released his highly-anticipated new album Cascades, Cascading, Cascadingly via Missing Piece Records. Garnering early praise from FLOOD MagazineUnder The Radar and more, Cascades, Cascading, Cascadingly is a dreamy series of meditations steeped in desire and yearning, loneliness and loss, exhilaration and escape.

Youngblood has been named WNXP’s Artist of the Month for September and shared insight about his home studio process and how his love for learning languages informed the album. He also recently stopped by WNYC’s Soundcheck for an in-studio session and conversation.

Tyler Ramsey has announced a follow-up Deluxe Edition of his fifth studio album New Lost Ages via Soundly Music, due out on October 18.  The Deluxe Edition will feature two previously unreleased B-sides including today’s release “Song Out Of My Head,” and “Paper Hearts,” which will come on October 18.

New Lost Ages was recorded at the legendary Avast! Recording Co. in Seattle, Washington, by storied producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, Built to Spill). The  LP is an ongoing sonic quest — meticulously wandering across the musical landscape, this undulating tone of indie, rock and folk stylings. The album is about peeling back the layers of oneself, to locate and open up the dusty boxes of your past from the back of the closet of your mind. It’s memories and mistakes, lessons and lifelines bringing the present moment into focus — the future bright with possibility and purpose, so long as you never forget the road to the here and now.

“‘Song Out Of My Head’ is a study of recurring thoughts. Memories or images or maybe regrets that might keep you up in the middle of the night.  At the same time, it’s a search for hope”

Fie Eike is a composer, songwriter and producer with Norwegian roots who was born and raised in Denmark. Based in Copenhagen, she creates melodic and atmospheric songs and playful instrumental compositions with a deep emotional imprint infused with curious playfulness and Nordic sophistication and mystery. The songs and compositions are often driven by Fie Eike’s vocal with great emotional depth and elasticity, piano, electronic elements and field recordings from nature. The result is a soundscape that moves between art-pop, electronica and jazz with a post-classical undertone.

Her latest single “Fluid” explores the feeling or state of “fluidity”, where we lose the connection to ourselves and our core because we “over-adapt” in order to fit in, and our boundaries become fluid in our existential pursuit of belonging. “Being flexible and able to adapt can be a positive and important skill. But in the context of our need for community and belonging, it can sometimes become a weakness, if we adapt too much and lose our sense of self in order to fit in or do what we think others expect of us,” Eike explains.

She elaborates: “The need for belonging is a basic human instinct and it is a very beautiful thing, as long as we don’t lose ourselves in the quest for it. Because the paradox is, that in order to belong or experience true connectedness and love, we must first belong to ourselves and have a sense of separateness that allows both ourselves and others to see us clearly. Because the sense of belonging we achieve by trying to fit in and please others, is essentially hollow and fear based, and can create unhealthy relationships and leads us further away from our own truth and from belonging.”

Musically and lyrically, “Fluid” is set in a beautiful underwater world of wonder. But it is also a world of extreme “fluidity” in the sense that everything is blurry and undefined with no clear boundaries and poor conditions for real connection. There is an existential longing for belonging, not just a longing for love and community, but a longing for connection to one self – for assuming form and a true self expression. Part of the inspiration for the song came from one of Eike’s favourite fairy tales, ‘The Little Mermaid’ by Hans Christian Andersen.

The soundscape is ethereal and otherworldly with a sense of wonder and melancholy but also hope. Field recordings of water merge with an electronic backdrop, led by a strong, fragile and emotional vocal. A beat emerges with the tempo increasing, towards a new movement of strength, transformation and hope.

“In a sense, ‘Fluid’ explores the state of being before assuming form”, Eike explains: “We go through this process of moving from a state of “fluidity” to assuming form during our childhood and youth, but in reality this process happens many times throughout our lives, in varying degrees, as we grow, transform and heal. Life can sometimes knock us off our feet and disconnect us temporarily, but the key is to become aware of it, so that we can come back to ourselves. There is a great vulnerability and risk in daring to belong to ourselves, but no true connectedness and love can happen without it.”
Fie Eike’s first singles from her upcoming debut album, have garnered attention from tastemakers such as, The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk and Atwood Magazine. Her upcoming debut-album is due in November 2024, and has received support from KODA Kultur and the Danish Musicians’ Union.

pop newcomer from Poland Jann, shares his incredible new single ‘Arachnophobia’.

Slow-building and atmospheric, ‘Arachnophobia’ delivers on a multitude of levels. From insightful lyrics to soaring melodies and evocatively layered production throughout, the new single showcases Jann as an artist at the peak of his abilities.

Speaking about the release, Jann said: “Arachnophobia is about being stuck in old patterns that don’t work and inability to form new ones to adapt to a new reality. Projecting your fears on something else, trying to escape facing the real, deeper fears and issues.”

From landing millions of streams to selling out shows across Europe and touring with Madison Beer, pop artist, writer and producer Jann’s rise has been meteoric.

The 25-year-old’s unique scale (four-octave scale) led him to the National Opera in Warsaw in his youth, where he performed for a number of years. He then moved to London where he studied at BIMM. However, despite his classical education, his own solo material sits in the pop world, and he’s rapidly gained a large legion of fans in his home country and beyond for his infectious melodies and refined production skills.

After unveiling his debut single ‘Do You Wanna Come Over’ in 2021, Jann followed up with his debut EP ‘POWER’, marking a bold statement of intent for the emerging artist. The following year saw Jann embark on his first national headline tour, which sold out in less than 24 hours.

His journey is continuing to build. At the beginning of this year, Jann started his first international headline tour, and shortly after that, he jumped into another one – this time as the direct support on the European leg of Madison Beer’s tour.

With more new music on the horizon in the form of Jann’s debut album and a brand new headline tour approaching, the rise of this charismatic pop star shows no signs of slowing.

pop newcomer Bana shares her bold new single ‘Bag of Hearts’. Listen HERE.

Firmly established as a popstar in her home region of Kurdistan, Bana’s newest English language material fuses musical elements of her roots with a maximalist pop sheen – and her latest track showcases this to full effect.

Frontrunning the hub of surging talent from her hometown, Bana has arrived to empower, and proudly represent Kurdish women in the industry. Her distinctive brand of unapologetic lyrics and punchy production has been crafted to instantly steal attention, as the starlet prepares to show the world what she is made of.

A song about a trickster who steals people’s hearts, ‘Bag of Hearts’ brims with a fierce, no-holds-barred attitude that’s matched with pulsing beats and catchy, Kurdish infused melodies which allow Bana’s outstanding vocals to take centre stage.

Speaking about the release, Bana says: “The song Bag of Hearts expresses the side of me that I have kept hidden for years. I have never sung with such passion in any of my songs before”

The FMs announce the release of 51122, out on November 22. Produced by the legendary David Werner and inspired by lo-fi dream pop, classic new wave and disco, the album follows PINK + BLACK, their sophomore record released earlier this year to acclaim from NY Daily News, MetroWeekly, GLAAD, Mundane MagazineNew Noise Magazine, and beyond. 51122 corresponds with May 11, 2022 – the day that Frankie Rex, founding member of The FMs, passed away from a fentanyl overdose.

Of the lead single, “A Means to an End” (Joy Division cover), Matte Namer shares: “Frankie and I were for years tossing around doing a cover song but could never agree on the right one. We’ve always been into Joy Division and actually covered ‘She’s Lost Control’ in our first band. One day I asked Frankie what their favorite Joy Division song was and he said ‘A Means to an End’ and I was like, let’s just do that. I went off the rails on this synth & digi drums-only arrangement trying to harness the chaotic unexpected nature of JD. Frankie did this mind-blowing performance, maybe my favorite thing we’ve ever recorded of their voice in three takes. Our producer for 51112, David Werner, then took our demos, simplified them a bit in a way and put his own spin on a few things that ultimately elevated the recording quite significantly.”

Of 51122, they note: “I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud and excited for an album release. There’s an identity and flow to these ten songs that feel like our most developed work thus far. We got to work with David Werner who understood our music and energy and how to elevate it and direct it. It’s also a bit somber being the last music that I think will ever be released with Frankie’s incredible, powerful, unique voice. I think there’s something about that that makes me remember they are really gone, like an orchid blooming from a coffin nail. 51122 is the date Frankie passed away, but is also a type of symbol in a way, or perhaps a word. I’m not sure what that meaning is yet, perhaps the orchid needs to grow.”

Waldemar Sorychta and Miss Randall’s duo QARINAH will release their EP “Transcendent” (preview here). This is their debut EP including “Hell or High Water” and “Impermanence,” and most recent single, “Not For Sale.”

QARINAH’s Miss Randall says: “Aside from the great Waldemar Sorychta, I wanted to express my deepest admiration toward the fallen former lead singer in Grip Inc. Gus Chambers, and also Dave Lombardo, an accomplished drummer who needs no introduction. All these unique characters shaped who I am in metal and created something larger than life that I look up to: pure raw metal with emotion.” It all starts with “Hell or High Water,”  a song about fighting against all odds. Then, “Impermanence” which is an honest anthem about our inevitable demise. “Not For Sale” is another tune that comes from the dissatisfaction with the societal rules when it comes to being unapologetically you. And finally, “Alchemy” talks about the stages of alchemical transformation in a human being as they are doing The Work.

QARINAH’S Waldemar Sorychta says: “This is a combination between hard grooves like Grip Inc. and melodic tunes that are working harmonically and not as opposites. Overall, the music is made with soul and passion presented with great production and heavy sound. Miss Randall’s voice brings in the heavy parts with a touch of California punk. I’m very proud of this result and there are many more written and pre-produced. This is just the beginning. ”

““False Hope” is about coming across individuals who promise the world to you but fail to present. It’s a song about picking yourself up after you come across ‘flaky’ characters.”

Recorded in Colchester, the track is Freya’s latest collaboration with producer Tom Donovan, notable for his work with Miles Kane.

‘Paper Hearts’ was written during the height of the Covid pandemic, while political tensions were dividing America, families and friends were torn apart by conflicting decisions on everything important in their lives. Additionally, SJae had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of thyroid cancer, and underwent two surgeries, just as the world locked down and fell off its axis.  SJae wanted to convey a message of hope and humility, strength and grace through radical acceptance and the notion that we are all so fragile and vulnerable, that through this insane time in history, even though our paths may differ, our destination is the same. She  had started composing for Netflix the year before, and had put together a group of musician friends to work on a new master of Bella Ciao, the song made popular by the show ‘Money Heist.’ The vibe between them was so fluid, SJae asked if they would help her with the instrumentation on Paper Hearts. This spectacular band made up of award winning musicians, bassist Hutch Hutchinson (Bonnie Rait), drummer MB Gordy (Pharrell Williams, Doobie Brothers) and guitarist Diego Garcia (Andrés Calamaro, Mercedes Sosa), all recorded their parts in isolation and sent the files to SJae, who added piano, strings and her intimate vocal tones, culminating in a fully produced and mixed record.

Her notable works include collaborations with Raphael Saadiq, as a composer on Netflix’s ‘After Party’ and songwriter and vocalist in Disney’s ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur’. Raphael also appears on SJae’s 2019 EP, ‘First’, along with other featured artists such as Sam Sparro.

Whether it be crafting the majority of the featured music on shows such as MTVs ‘Ridiculousness’ and Hulu’s ‘Kardashians,’ films such as ‘Bad Trip’ or ‘They Cloned Tyrone’, or scoring for major network trailers and promos, one will hear SJae’s music and songwriting across all platforms and territories.

SJae  was born in Wales, UK, and studied at The Brit School of Performing Arts, whose alumni include Adele and Amy Winehouse. Upon graduation, she signed a record deal with BMG Records and a publishing deal with Warner Chappell, which set the stage for her future career as a songwriter and music producer. After a decade of penning hit songs and producing records in the UK, SJae moved to Los Angeles, where her career expanded even further.

A career marked by her collaborations with a wide range of artists, from emerging talents to established stars, SJae  has worked across genres including, R&B, hip-hop, Kpop, folk and electronic music, penning hit records all over the world. Her ability to fuse different styles and sounds has made her a sought-after producer and composer in the industry.

She has been recognized not only for her technical proficiency but also for her ability to connect with audiences on a deep emotional level through other lyrics and her soulful style of vocal production. award-winning artist and producer Ben Böhmer delivers his latest single, “Faithless,” featuring Erin LeCount. The track continues the lead-up to Böhmer’s third studio album, Bloom, arriving September 27 via Ninja Tune.

“Faithless” is perhaps the most stark departure from the melodic house/techno music that has become Ben’s signature sound over his career, cemented by the success of his previous albums (nearly 1 billion streams). Despite the success, Ben has always identified most as a composer and songwriter, which comes through clearly in this new collaboration with Erin LeCount, taking Ben’s sound even further into the indie and pop realms. “Faithless” features a breathtaking performance from LeCount alongside Ben’s immersive production, which calls upon woozy halftime percussion and soaring, atmospheric pads.

‘Faithless’ really came together in a case of divine timing – I was in the right place at the right time when I heard the instrumental, and Ben’s production is such a beautiful soundscape that it was so natural to write for. I wrote the lyrics about a cycle of self-sabotage in wanting to love someone and then leaving the minute things get good – reminiscing and regretting it every time but being unable to stay anywhere too long.”     — Erin LeCount

Bess Chew was born and raised in Singapore, where she navigated a rigid educational system. From a young age, she was immersed in the performing arts, participating in musicals, drama plays, choir performances, and short educational films. In secondary school, she trained with a former Korean musical actress to develop her vocal skills. Speaking on the meaning behind her debut release, JAZMYNE said: “With ‘Yum Yum,’ I wanted to create something that’s not just catchy, but deeply personal. On the surface, it’s a fun, high-energy anthem about living in the moment, but underneath, it’s a story of self-discovery and the freedom that comes with embracing who you are. I hope everyone finds a little piece of themselves in it.”

Bali, Indonesia-based alternative pop/rock band MANJA share their most personal track yet–the introspective, healing “Wax & Feathers” out everywhere now along with its accompanying video. With the latest release, the group is unafraid to confront their own mental health struggles and discover true self-acceptance and resilience. Blending reflective lyricism and their signature sound, “Wax & Feathers” is a poignant addition to their stirring collection.

“Wax & Feathers” was written during a pivotal moment in frontman James Sukadana‘s life. Facing a mental breakdown, he found himself on the edge–both physically, atop a cliff in Australia, and emotionally, at a crossroads. The song’s title and lyrics draw from a note the musician wrote to his sister during this dark time, a metaphor for the fragility of his state: “My wax has melted, my feather is coming off, and it’s my time to fall.”

The track chronicles Sukadana’s journey of self-discovery and healing, which began in Australia, where he sought purpose and a sense of belonging. Despite his initial hopes, he was engulfed in darkness, leading him to return to Bali for a fresh start. “All that falling is part of the journey. It’s not a failure as long as you can pick yourself up from it and dust yourself off,” Sukadana reflects.

The poignancy of “Wax & Feathers” is even more significant, with Sukadana currently sidelined by vocal cord nodules, rendering him unable to do the one thing he loves the most: singing. As a result, MANJA is presently in a state of flux. The group’s resiliency is currently being put to the test. “We have been through a lot as individuals and as a band. We know how it feels to fall on our knees. At the same time, we also know how to get back up again. We need to keep the fire burning,” says Sukadana.

Instead of running from pain and dwelling on past mistakes, the band uses the song as a form of acceptance and manifestation, a humble call for help, and a commitment to moving forward towards a brighter, better future. The bridge, a highlight of the track, captures this sentiment perfectly: I know now I was wrong/Lights fade, but fires burn along/I see now this is right where I belong.” Produced by Romanian music producer, composer, and sound designer Vladimir Coman-Popescu, the track allows the group to take a significant step forward in their artistry as they touch on meaningful, personal subject matter like never before while maintaining their signature sound.

Guitarist Nick Pratama shares making the playful video involved some stunning views and team bonding. Pratama reflects, “I believe the most enjoyable shoot was at Mount Papandayan. The view from there was extraordinary, and with the temperature around 12°C (53°F), we could jump around and have fun without breaking a sweat (well, some of us). After the shoot, we decided to hike down and admire the beautiful scenery of the active volcano. We saw wild boars roaming around, eagles, and, fortunately, no wild leopards appeared.”

Shot with the help of fellow artist Nova May, the video is a snapshot introduction into the world of Altara and his infectious energy. Somebody To Lose presents as an exceptional debut and the new music video is an enticing next offering..

Altara has spent the last few years evolving his sound and finessing his production skills, setting him up to be an artist to watch. Written in Paris, Somebody To Lose is the result of falling for someone who’s already in a relationship.

Playful and clever lyricism met with potent and catchy hooks, pin this as an anthemic first release. Sharing more, Altara explained: ‘When I find myself falling for someone, I get very in my own head & can make everything too heavy. I wanted to write something that made light of that, I wanted to show myself that catching feelings doesn’t have to be deep & over the top, it can be fun, easy & even embarrassing in the best way. This song really helped me reinforce that.’

Rising singer-songwriter Avery Lynch presents the stunning video for her heartfelt new single, “somebody new,” from her latest EP, As Written, Vol 2.

With its delicate piano melody and Avery’s soothing vocals, “somebody new” draws listeners in with its raw, unfiltered honesty. The song is a poignant reflection on a love so profound that it transcends personal desires. “It’s about loving someone so deeply that you wish them happiness, even if it means they find it with someone else,” Avery shares. The song’s beauty lies in its simplicity, making it both deeply touching and profoundly resonant.

The music video, directed by Gus Black, masterfully amplifies the song’s cinematic quality. Avery assumes the role of a narrator, watching the unfolding relationship from a distance, embodying the song’s reflective tone. “I wrote the song from the perspective of an observer, and that’s the role I play in the video,” she explains. The video not only enhances the song’s emotional depth but also leaves a lasting impression, perfectly capturing the bittersweet essence of loving someone selflessly.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Avery started playing piano at the age of 7 and writing her own vocal compositions just a year later. As she’s continued to come into her own as an artist, her soft, romantic vocals and raw piano stylings have remained the cornerstone of her sound. She starts each of her songs alone with her piano before bringing the demos to her close-knit team who help her bring the music to life.

Frequently described as a happy girl filled with sad songs, Avery’s artistry is rooted in storytelling. She draws inspiration from the world around her, the media she consumes, and her own life experiences. Since making her debut in 2020, Avery has cultivated a loyal and engaged fanbase, even creating songs inspired by fan comments. With over 100 million streams and counting, as well as a newly inked deal with RECORDS, Avery Lynch is an artist poised for stardom.

Los Angeles-based rock duo Royal She is gearing up to drop their latest single, “My Ex,” on October 4th, 2024. Comprised of vocalist Alison Freed and multi-instrumentalist Alexandria Reyes, Royal She first caught attention with their inventive Billie Eilish cover, “My Girl”, and has since built momentum with their original hit “Rollercoaster” (co-written by Freed and Adaline) a track that was notably synced for a major motion picture and released as an official remix by Mojave Phone Booth. Their dynamic sound echos the energy of bands like PVRIS and Paramour, delivering a distinctive fusion of rock, pop, and electronic influences.

“My Ex” serves as a precursor to their highly anticipated album, Befores and Afters, set for release in early 2025. Produced by Logan Mader and mixed by the renowned Chris Lord-Alge, it blends their signature genre-spanning style with an edgy storytelling dynamic. The biting break-up anthem is a searing response to a toxic ex with high-octane pop melodies, a propulsive rock beat, and an irresistible forward motion, culminating in the powerful rap-inspired bridge that hammers the message home.  As the harmony-laced vocals deliver the ultimate message, “‘I’ve never hated anyone / anyone, anyone / and then there was you,” a necessary but explosive energy reverberates until the very last chord fades. Check out Royal She’s new single, “My Ex,” out on October 4th, 2024.

GRAMMY-nominated global superstar Demi Lovato has released “You’ll Be OK, Kid” – listen here – the original song from her forthcoming documentary Child Star.

Speaking of the song Demi said, “Working on Child Star was a deeply reflective experience for me. It allowed me to deep dive into emotions from my childhood, while also connecting with others who had so many shared experiences.” She continues, “As we were editing the film, I became very inspired to write a song. The idea of connecting with my younger self through the pain and hardships that came along with child stardom was so important to me. I wrote the song as a letter to my inner child, and I hope that it can give others an opportunity to connect with their inner child as well.”

Child Star explores the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world’s most well-known former child stars. Through celebrity interviews, vérité scenes, and archival footage, this film deconstructs the stages of earlier stardom and looks at the entertainment system over the last century. Lovato sits down with iconic former child stars such as Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Christina Ricci, Raven-Symoné, JoJo Siwa, Alyson Stoner, and more, to reflect on their personal experiences working in the entertainment industry in never-before-heard stories. Together they take a look at the next generation of child actors and how to move forward in an ever-changing landscape. The film will mark Demi Lovato’s directorial debut with Nicola Marsh co-directing with OBB Pictures, SB Films, and DLG are producing. Watch the trailer here.

Multifaceted singer-songwriter, artist, musician and producer Party Nails has released her new single “Same Old Song” via Eye Knee Records. The indie rock ode is sung into the rear view mirror, with the artist seeming to have chucked her bluer feelings into the backseat (with snacks) and let “fun” sit shotgun all the way to the slumber party. She confides, “For a while, I called this ‘Through The Trees’, because that image of looking through the trees for my childhood self was the impetus for writing the song. I could feel the feeling I was trying to write down the whole time, and the only way to stop living in the feeling was to write it down, accurately. This was a period of lockdown where my psyche was interacting with my idea of “home” a lot. As I chipped away at what was then called ‘Through The Trees’, it became clearer and clearer that I was talking to my younger self. I wasn’t angry with her, or sad with her, or warning her of anything. I was just documenting our co-existence. I had the lines “I’ve been drinking, I’ve been thinking, I’ve been crying, I’ve been dreaming, I’ve been fiending, I’m so tired” in a songwriting notebook for a long time, waiting for a home. They were the perfect post-chorus. Anna Crane plays drums on it, which really elevates the energy for me.”

“Same Old Song” features honey-soaked vocals, irresistible melodies and lush guitars. The single is a heartfelt diary entry set to a dreamy, lofi soundtrack. Party Nails continues to showcase her knack for crafting deeply personal yet universally relatable tracks. The production is rich and textured, allowing her thoughtful songwriting to shine through. Fans of introspective pop and indie rock will find plenty to appreciate in Party Nail’s honest and emotive approach in “Same Old Song”.
