During a recent interview director Chris Sanders opened up about future plans for DreamWorks Animation‘s and in that confirmed that The Wild Robot 2 is indeed currently in development.
“100% yes, there are absolutely plans for a second one,” Sanders told Deadline about the sequel. The Wild Robot 2 is expected to be directed by Sanders once again. It will be based on Peter Brown’s second Wild Robot novel, titled The Wild Robot Escapes.
The sequel book’s synopsis reads, “Shipwrecked on a remote, wild island, Robot Roz learned from the unwelcoming animal inhabitants and adapted to her surroundings, but can she survive the challenges of the civilized world and find her way home to Brightbill and the island?”
