Andrea Iervolino, the producer behind feature films like Ferrari and Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend, has announced that he’s working on a biopic based on the luxury automobile brand, Bugatti. Ierovolino is currently also working on a Maserati biopic, for which he has brought veteran actor Anthony Hopkins on board in the role of an Italian financier. The movie is directed by Bobby Moresco.
Deadline reports that the Bugatti biopic will be based on the story of the founder of the luxury car brand, Ettore Bugatti. He founded Bugatti in the city of Molsheim. However, following Ettore’s son, Jean’s death in 1939 and his death in 1947, the company went into a complete financial loss.
The biopic is set to enter its filming phase next year in Italy with a full international cast.
