Gaining notoriety as Australia’s most exciting new band – Dopamine – release their latest single “Angela”, on 1st November 2024.
“Angela” is pure blissful romanticism, evoking the feelings of teenage hangouts and fleeting romances. It is the first single taken from the band’s forthcoming EP.
Last year, Dopamine captured the attention of the music industry with their single “Don’t Mind Anyway”. Having received significant support from triple J – the group now return to solidify their reputation as Australia’s best new buzz band.
Of the new single, Dopamine say:
“It’s about coming back to a place that has a lot of memories for you. I don’t think “Angela” represents a person but more a place. A place that encapsulated your life at a certain point but now is just a memory.”
“We’ve just finished building our own studio and this was the first track that we recorded and mixed there. We were working on an old song of ours and it just wasn’t coming together. We were trying to get excited about it, but we were just sick of listening to it. We were probably a bit drunk and overconfident and had the idea to just write and record a new song that night and this is the song that came out of it. All the songs were recorded in our studio that night, it sounds amazing!”
Swiss-British indie-pop sensation Kings Elliot unveils her highly anticipated new EP, ‘I’m Not Always Sad, Sometimes I’m Angry’, a stunning 6-track collection of raw, emotive music that showcases her ever-evolving artistry. The EP’s focus track, ‘Sweet Nothing’, an unapologetic anthem of self-empowerment, bursting with swagger and defiance, pushing creative boundaries with a sound unlike anything she’s ever done before, yet still encapsulates the soul-stirring vulnerability and unfiltered emotion that Kings Elliot has become known for.
When you’ve been playing and writing music with the same fellas for over a decade, you start to know each other better than you might have wanted to in the first place. The guys first crossed paths in high school, but it wasn’t until after graduation that they began jamming together seriously. During their college years, they all lived together, playing shows, writing songs, and, honestly, just hanging out. There was probably more hanging out than anything else, but that’s what built the foundation of the band’s bond.
It was a bond forged through playing to empty rooms at odd hours, writing songs that now make us cringe, and meeting some of the most interesting, unstable, and artistic people along the way. Today, under the name Oba, we are a family who creates music that we genuinely enjoy listening to and hope that people who need a couple songs to daydream to, can find comfort in our songs.
The name is a nod to the band’s beloved Obaajan (grandma in Japanese), who always made sushi and other snacks for long road trips to gigs across Canada.
British, Devon-born singer-songwriter Daniel Schamroth is celebrated for his stripped back, soulful, indie folk anthems. His lo-if sound sits somewhere between the worlds of Noel Gallagher, Ryan Adams, and Neil Young, paying homage to these influences while carving out his own emotionally charged style. Schamroth’s music is certain to connect with audiences through his raw storytelling and introspective lyrics.
His latest release is an acoustic track titled “Skyscraper,” released by independent label So, Let’s Talk. “Skyscraper” is an intimate stripped-back acoustic home demo recording, written by Schamroth himself, and produced by Tom Greenwell. The songwriter shares, “Skyscraper was written in the early throes of romance, when you first meet someone. You feel like the world’s your oyster and you’re out exploring that secret world together, feeling unstoppable and full of possibility.”
“Skyscraper” emits a raw edge with a melancholic tone. Featuring just a simple guitar melody and Schamroth’s emotion-fuelled vocals, the track proves that less is more.
Earlier this year, Schamroth released Major Companion, a 6-track EP produced by two time Grammy-winner Guy Massey, which racked up over 150,000 streams on Spotify. In May, the world’s most iconic guitar brand Gibson announced a new series of Acoustic Sessions with Schamroth selected as the first artist to perform live at the Gibson Garage in London.
Described as “an incredible talent” by BBC Introducing and “wholly uplifting” by American Songwriter, Schamroth has previously supported Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and shared the stage with the likes of The Charlatans and Reverend & The Makers. His music has been used by Formula One racing team Oracle Red Bull Racing, and featured in the Australian film Goldstone. Schamroth is also the frontman for Indie band The Loft Club. The bands 2021 debut album Dreaming The Impossible, released via So, Let’s Talk/Lightyear/Virgin Music, included a single titled “Flicker” featuring Grammy-winning singer Lisa Loeb, which reached Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay Chart in the US.
Everything about singer- songwriter Nathan Ball feels unforced. A natural, easy, calming presence, his music scales universal emotional highs with as much fluidity as it descends into moody introspection.
His latest single “Rise Up Again” is a song about hopefulness and resilience. Nathan shares, “It’s a song about being on the outside of someone’s struggle, wanting to help someone you love to bring them out of the darkness and let them know you are there for them.”
“Rise Up Again” is the final track to be released from his new EP, Lost Track of Time. The four-track EP also features singles “Stateline” which was written whilst on tour in Australia, trying to capture the spirit of life on the road. Then there is “Lover’s Game”, a song about the importance of loving yourself first in order for others to love you, as well as “Cover to Cover” which paints a picture of someone reflecting on a relationship that deeply impacted them, both for the better and the worse.
Based in Cornwall, the outdoors is a huge catalyst for much of Nathan’s material, with the songwriter sharing, “It’s where I write best; by the sea, in the mountains, in the woods. I love being totally immersed in nature so naturally those themes find their way into the music. I love being in the ocean – just being in it and feeling totally insignificant. It’s a reminder of the order of things.”
Nathan’s work fuses two chief loves – classic songwriting and an eagerness to experiment and push sonic boundaries. Perhaps unexpectedly, he finds inspiration in left-field house music. “I love the way it makes you feel – it’s euphoric, but sad, introverted but expressive. I love that darker side of the genre.” His love for the electronic world led him to a feature with seminal British electronica act Faithless and as a result he is now touring as their vocalist, where this past summer they headlined festivals including Wilderness and The Glade Stage at Glastonbury and are now currently on a European headline tour.
Nathan’s songs have impressively amassed over 60 million streams to date. He’s had the pleasure of supporting artists such as Bon Iver, Van Morrison, Ziggy Alberts, Matthew and the Atlas, and has also performed at festivals including Boardmasters, Green Man, Secret Garden Party, British Summer Time, All Points East and many more. He recently wrapped up a successful tour across the UK, Germany and Amsterdam, where he performed to packed out venues filled with fans chanting his lyrics back to him. Lost Track of Time is out now, with label partners V2 Records.
Emerging alt-rock sensation, Peri Rae, shared her brand new single, ‘You Drove An Hour Trip’. This autumn-inspired alt-rock heartbreak ballad captures the raw emotions of love and loss, seamlessly blending powerful rock instrumentals with emotive melodies, in true Peri Rae style.
One of the stand-out songs from his recent EP ‘Blue’, the track was also the very first written for the record. Laced with Brown’s trademark lyrical quips and sweetened with his honey-like falsetto, “Let Go” is a perfect pop song that deals with themes of relief and release, escaping reality and the feelings of freedom that can follow.
As Ben explains of writing the track:
“The melody came to mind as I was walking along the Stour Estuary one evening in the rain. I think it’s about that feeling of letting go and seeing what happens. Sometimes we can over scrutinise situations that we have little control over – be it relationships, goals or whatever. If you take away some of this pressure and step back, you can better understand and enjoy… yourself!”
The track follows recent singles ‘Kathmandu’ and EP title-track ‘Blue’, with all tracks on the EP produced by Ben’s friend and mentor Frank Turner. The EP is out now on Xtra Mile Recordings.
Following tours around the UK with Frank Turner and The Meffs, earlier this year Ben Brown will now be hitting the road with labelmates Skinny Lister, as he joins the band for their extensive UK tour. Catch Ben supporting the Skinnies, at these upcoming shows:

“Kamala Kennedy Cornell Trumpenstein”: A Satirical Anthem for 2024
In a bold fusion of political satire and creative expression, Kosha Dillz announces the release of his latest single, “Kamala Kennedy Cornell Trumpenstein.” Set to drop on November 5, 2024, this track emerges as a commentary on the current state of American politics, showcasing a composite candidate reminiscent of the many faces shaping the political landscape today.
“Kamala Kennedy Cornell Trumpenstein” encapsulates the absurdity of the electoral process, presenting an ideal candidate constructed from the quirks and flaws of various political figures. Dillz’s approach critiques societal pressures that dictate our choices, all while avoiding direct discussion of the election itself. As he puts it, “Let’s not choose a candidate like any of my peers. Let’s be original and just choose all of them because we’re screwed anyway!”
‘Paper Hearts’ was written during the height of the Covid pandemic, while political tensions were dividing America, families and friends were torn apart by conflicting decisions on everything important in their lives. Additionally, SJae had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of thyroid cancer, and underwent two surgeries, just as the world locked down and fell off its axis. SJae wanted to convey a message of hope and humility, strength and grace through radical acceptance and the notion that we are all so fragile and vulnerable, that through this insane time in history, even though our paths may differ, our destination is the same. She had started composing for Netflix the year before, and had put together a group of musician friends to work on a new master of Bella Ciao, the song made popular by the show ‘Money Heist.’ The vibe between them was so fluid, SJae asked if they would help her with the instrumentation on Paper Hearts. This spectacular band made up of award winning musicians, bassist Hutch Hutchinson (Bonnie Rait), drummer MB Gordy (Pharrell Williams, Doobie Brothers) and guitarist Diego Garcia (Andrés Calamaro, Mercedes Sosa), all recorded their parts in isolation and sent the files to SJae, who added piano, strings and her intimate vocal tones, culminating in a fully produced and mixed record.
Her notable works include collaborations with Raphael Saadiq, as a composer on Netflix’s ‘After Party’ and songwriter and vocalist in Disney’s ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur’. Raphael also appears on SJae’s 2019 EP, ‘First’, along with other featured artists such as Sam Sparro.
Whether it be crafting the majority of the featured music on shows such as MTVs ‘Ridiculousness’ and Hulu’s ‘Kardashians,’ films such as ‘Bad Trip’ or ‘They Cloned Tyrone’, or scoring for major network trailers and promos, one will hear SJae’s music and songwriting across all platforms and territories.
SJae was born in Wales, UK, and studied at The Brit School of Performing Arts, whose alumni include Adele and Amy Winehouse. Upon graduation, she signed a record deal with BMG Records and a publishing deal with Warner Chappell, which set the stage for her future career as a songwriter and music producer. After a decade of penning hit songs and producing records in the UK, SJae moved to Los Angeles, where her career expanded even further.
A career marked by her collaborations with a wide range of artists, from emerging talents to established stars, SJae has worked across genres including, R&B, hip-hop, Kpop, folk and electronic music, penning hit records all over the world. Her ability to fuse different styles and sounds has made her a sought-after producer and composer in the industry.
In addition to her work in the music industry, SJAE has also made significant contributions to the world of film and television. Her compositions and score have been featured in various soundtracks, trailers and tv shows, and she is currently one of Netflix Los Angeles go to composers.Throughout her career, SJAE has received numerous accolades for her work, including a Mercury Music Prize and MOBO nominations for her production on Terri Walker’s ‘Untitled’ album, numerous awards across Asia for her work with KPop sensation EXO on their ‘Miracles in December EP’, and several platinum records for her work in the dance and UK garage arena with artists such as Mis-teeq, Booty Luv, Kele Le Roc and Mark Morrison. She has been recognized not only for her technical proficiency but also for her ability to connect with audiences on a deep emotional level through other lyrics and her soulful style of vocal production. Her contributions to the music industry have been acknowledged by her peers and by the broader music community.
Like the tides of the Bay of Fundy on which she was raised, or the steadfast city line that broods along its port, Kylie Fox has been devoted to honing her craft as a songwriter for as long as she can remember. Growing up with a Mother who would sing to her, and a Father who sat at the helm of every kitchen party with his Yamaha and uninhibited voice, it became clear to Fox from a young age that music was how to show love, how to express identity, and how to connect with the people around her. Kylie’s career in music has led her to share stages alongside names like Bahamas, The Strumbellas and Joel Plaskett. She has showcased at the East Coast Music Awards (2021), Folk Alliance International (2021) and the Canadian Song Conference (2021). In 2020, she participated in the Banff Centre for the Arts International Songwriting Residency and has also been featured on lineups for festivals like the Cavendish Beach Music Festival (2022) and Area506 (2021). She was named “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” at the 2020 PrixNB Awards, and recently named “Innovator of the Year” at the 2023 PrixNB Awards.
Having recognized Fox’s creativity as a child, her Mother enrolled her in the Interaction School of Performing Arts in Saint John, New Brunswick. She found a home on the stage and developed a passion for acting that led her to study theater at Concordia University in Montreal, and a love of singing that led her to study opera at Mount Allison University in small town Sackville, New Brunswick. It was in university that Fox started sharing the songs that had filled her journals, performing at open mics, coffee houses, and to a group of friends who’d compare songs in their dorms. She spent her Summers working as a tree planter in British Columbia, strumming her guitar around backwoods campfires, swimming in endless lakes, and developing a fortitude for hard work.
That resilience transpired in her many jobs serving tables and fundraising to record her songs. She released her first EP BalconyEP in 2017 and toured it as a three piece band called “Kylie Fox and the Hound”. After university, she toured the East and West Coast of Canada as a solo artist, all the while documenting her experiences through song. In the chaos of 2020, she released her first full length album, (Green, 2020), found home in an arty new city, formed her band, and started carving out a career in music full time. She has acted as the music director for the Theatre New Brunswick Theatre School, composer for Solo Chicken Theatre Company’s developing works, and voice teacher in her home studio. She recently utilized her theater training and starred as Dolly Parton in two sold out performances of the Once Upon a Christmas Tribute show.
idkraeven used to believe life ends after childhood. With an emotionally abusive home life and unresolved emotional turmoil, her only respite became writing songs in the barn behind her adoptive parents’ house in West Covina, California. During a period of homelessness after being kicked out at 17, she continued to write and post songs to Soundcloud and grow a healthy TikTok following; at 19, she was discovered by TAG music and signed to a record deal. Inspired by artists like Lil Peep, Brakence, and Twenty One Pilots, idkraeven brings a fresh feminine perspective to the emo scene, infusing her unique blend of emotive lyricism into melodic rap vocals, accompanied by trap drums and acoustic guitars.
Working with producer Devin Corey (tiLLie, McCall, Cassie Marin), her debut EP, NETHERWATER, positions idkraeven as the calm amidst the chaos that once defined her surroundings; and through this collection of songs, she reflects on her journey, shedding light on her struggles and eventual triumph over dysfunction.
idkraeven’s gut-wrenching story begins in foster care at just three-years-old – subjected to emotional abuse from her adoptive parents for the majority of her early life. NETHERWATER delves into her story, with themes of Hell being repeated throughout the EP. The project’s title ‘NETHERWATER’ is an ode to the River Styx, which in Greek mythology, is the river that flows through the Underworld, separating it from the mortal world. The river is believed to possess mystical properties that make those who touch or consume its water immortal. The songwriter shares, “Metaphorically, I feel as though I am sitting amidst the waters of the Styx, physically unscathed and protected, but mentally tormented by the surrounding view of hell. The title encapsulates the dichotomy of feeling physically invincible but mentally damaged.”
The EP enters with “BLEED OUT,” setting the tone for the rest of the project. As idkraeven reflects on the wreckage, outwardly unscathed while inwardly traumatized, this track acts as the ultimate “fuck you” to her adoptive parents. idkraeven confides, “I call them out in the first line, asking if they’re satisfied with the havoc they wreaked on my life, after they kicked me out at 17. In this song, I speak about the struggle, pain, and mental torture it’s taken to slowly claw my way up to stability. This song was also made with the intention of holding Christian parents accountable not to cherry-pick the Bible when trying to raise their “good Christian kids”. You can’t hate me for being a bisexual stoner and then turn around and claim that you make a conscious effort to display Jesus’ love to others. Jesus thinks I’m cool as fuck.”
“BLEED OUT” also sheds light on the foster care system’s brokenness and lack of the structure needed to provide a child with a home.
NETHERWATER also details raw and vulnerable stories around sexual abuse, relationships and breakups, such as “myskinisraw” and “shit” where idkraeven is fearless in speaking her truth, as well as topics surrounding mental health issues and insecurities such as “soul spillage” and “STR8FRMHLL”.
Rex and the Rhythm (Rex) is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and producer who spent his formative years hanging around the music studios of international superstar, Eddy Grant, on his historic plantation in Barbados.
Rex started playing the drums at nine. He later picked up the guitar and bass. At 15, his mother put him in the band she co-founded named Cover Drive, a Carib-pop band, which inked a deal with Polydor Records in the UK in 2010. The band, with Rex on drums and co-vocals, scored a number one hit,“Twilight,” on the UK Official Chart in 2012. That same year, Cover Drive went on to score a total of three UK top tens, multi-platinum and silver singles, and opened for Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson and Lauryn Hill.
After graduating from Full Sail University in 2020, Rex released his debut EP, #127 Solace in 2021. His solo sound had all the feel good elements of his previous band’s sonic with a bit less Caribbean and more alternative R&B vibes. In December 2022, Rex opened for Ashanti in Barbados at The Hennessy Artistry festival. Then in February of 2023, Rex released his sophomore project, Secrets Behind Our Smiles. On the project, you can hear Rex’s artistry elements with a more urban contemporary sonic.
In 2024, Rex released “Highs & Grows”, a track inspired by 90s hip-hop legends including Outkast and A Tribe Called Quest. The song strikes a distinctive mark between psychedelic soul, alt-pop, and hip-hop for a cosmic journey of inner-evolution, honoring both the pitfalls and peaks of being human. “Highs & Grows” explores an array of live percussion, sun-drenched electric guitar, and transcendental lyricism that is complemented by reverberating euphoric harmonies, resulting in a kaleidoscopic and uplifting sound. “Umbrella” is a track written about an unexpected end to a relationship, and Rex captures the duality of our fluctuating emotions. New single “Play My Guitar” is a soulful and dynamic track written about “giving your everything, but being still taken for granted in a relationship.”
Emerging pop vocalist YAZ, shares her brand new single, ‘Wish You Were Here’ – the title track to her eagerly-awaited debut EP set for release this Friday. Indie pop artist Dalia returns with ‘pretty girl’, an electrifying pop-rock single that explores the intense chemistry and emotional highs of her first queer relationship. With nostalgic Avril Lavigne vibes and Dalia’s trademark raw honesty, “pretty girl” tells the story of a love that felt as thrilling as it was risky.

buzzing UK producer nimino enlists the enigmatic house music maverick Claptone for a remix of his viral hit “I Only Smoke When I Drink.” The new remix is out now via Counter Records/Ninja Tune. The new remix arrives as nimino is in the heat of his current North American tour.
Initially blowing up on TikTok with 17M organic plays, “I Only Smoke When I Drink” is currently clocking in at over 500,000 plays per day, has spent nine consecutive weeks on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Chart, reached #57 on the official UK Singles Chart, has moved up to the BBC Radio 1 A list, and has amassed over 100k Shazams since its release. Wonderland has it on repeat, Diplo is rinsing it in his sets, and Music Ally analyzed the strategy behind its success.
The song is just a glimpse of nimino’s knack for catchy songwriting. Paired with his unique world-building techniques, nimino creates a rich palette of illusory, lo-fi, UKG-flecked house and hip-hop that has caught on in a serious way. Claptone deftly takes these soft, fuzzy sounds and reimagines a bouncy, tech house-laced foundation for them while retaining the magic of the lead synths and vocals.
Beth McKenzie shares new video for latest single ‘Inside Out’ via Handwritten Records. Courageous and emotive, Beth boldly wears her vulnerability on her sleeve.
Pre-save Beth’s debut EP HERE ahead of 15th November
The accompanying visual for ‘Inside Out’ touches on the inspiration behind the track and depicts the depths of a hugely challenging time.
Sharing more, Beth explained the single: ‘Inside Out was written about the aftermath of a sexual assault & the way I felt betrayed by multiple people throughout the investigations that took place in the weeks that followed.
For this reason, the majority of the video is set in an interrogation room. I knew immediately that this is what I wanted, it perfectly represents what happened, the mistreatment I felt from the people around me & the resulting internal conflict.
This project was really difficult for me – even before the day we shot it. I was revisiting events and emotions I hadn’t in a while & it definitely took a toll on my mental health. However, this song & video was my choice, I chose to write and create everything around it, so in a way, the whole experience has been empowering.
While the song is incredibly important to me the way it is, it is still quite metaphorical. It leaves the meaning of the song open to interpretation, which is great – I want people to be able to find their own meaning in my songs.’
In the realm of alt-pop, Piper Connolly emerges as a fierce innovator, her music a vibrant mélange of introspection and sonic exploration. Hailing from the arid deserts of Phoenix, Arizona, Piper’s journey began with a passion for the unconventional and a determination to forge her own path.
Comparisons to industry icons like Avril Lavigne and Paramore underscore the appeal of Piper’s sound. With her “unique voice cutting through the noise of today’s ‘lazy whisper range’ popular music scene”, Piper emerges as a standout new artist that seamlessly blends elements of rock and pop, new and old, inviting listeners on an enjoyable musical tumble.
From a very young age, Piper found solace and expression in songwriting, her compositions reflecting the raw emotions of life’s complexities and newfound experiences. Drawing inspiration from all manner of music, from early rock and roll, and jazz, to 90s grunge and ska with a steady undercurrent of R&B and soul, she’s worked to hone a sound that defies blunt categorization, blending elements of indie songwriting, alternative and pop into a storied sonic landscape.
Her latest release is an evocative and mesmerising rendition of “Gimme Shelter” that features Scott Conti. From climate change to political upheaval and social division, Piper was moved by the collective anxiety surrounding today’s youth and infused those emotions into this rendition. The result is a haunting yet empowering interpretation, carried by her raw, evocative vocals and set against an atmospheric production with an alt-rock edge. This new “Gimme Shelter” transcends eras, capturing the same urgent plea for safety and unity that defined the original—now reimagined for a generation navigating modern chaos. With its blend of intimacy and defiance, the track reflects a yearning for connection, solidarity, and action, resonating deeply with listeners searching for hope in uncertain times. With “Gimme Shelter”, Piper not only honors rock’s legacy but also positions herself as a vital voice for the future.
Onstage, Piper commands attention with a magnetic presence and an infectious energy honed over years of live performance. From intimate club settings to expansive festival stages, she captivates audiences with her dynamic performances.
Beyond her music, Piper is a vocal advocate for authenticity and self-expression, using her platform to champion individuality and empowerment. As she explores the boundaries of alt-pop, she continues to inspire others to embrace their true selves through her music and activism, serving as a beacon of creativity and authenticity in a world hungry for genuine voices and connection.

New York native singer-songwriter ROREY (24) grew up bi-coastal between Manhattan and LA. She started playing guitar at age six and taught herself piano at age 14. In 2019, she left college and moved back to LA to pursue music, releasing her first single, “Predictable” in 2021.ROREYprides herself on her unique rhyme schemes and brutally honest, vulnerable lyrics paired with unforgettable hooks.
ROREY draws lyrical inspiration from anything and everything. She will even pull lyrics from text conversations. “My songwriting has been my greatest confidant and my creative process my only reprieve from the precarious nature of life,” she confides. Although ROREY is the only musician in her family, her house was never quiet. Her early musical influences attributed to her parents were Santana, Pink Floyd, and Jethro Tull.
In 2021 ROREY was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. It was during this time she wrote six of the eight songs featured on her upcoming sophomore EP, Dysphoria. Co-produced by longtime friend and collaborator, Scott Effman, the collection of music emulates her cognitive dissonance navigating her mental health journey through haunting melodies, ethereal vocals and swirls of hypnotic instrumentals. The single “Soho Grand” details a dark time in her life and her path towards healing. She confides, “I think we’ve all been at a place where we wondered if things would ever get better. That feeling kept me from seeking help because, for a while, I thought, What’s the point if it never does? Spoiler alert—it did. Healing isn’t linear; for me, it took years of commitment and surrender. To anyone looking for relief, I’d encourage you to lean into the uncertainty. Trust the process—it’s worth it.”

I was afraid to disrupt anything. Now that’s all I want to do. I’m always curious to see how further I can push things and experiment. I guess the message I want listeners to take away from this is do whatever you want and give no fucks. The second you start listening to yourself, you win.’

globally adored singer-songwriter Alice Phoebe Lou idealizes a love story that hasn’t even begun on “Better.” Buoyant melodies pave the way for Alice’s honeyed vocals as she depicts the early, untouchable bliss of a new love that won’t necessarily stand the test of time. Nostalgic, vintage keys dress the track in thoughts of cherished memories, sweetening the mirage of intense, fleeting connections — Stream.
Recorded at Cedar Creek Studio in Austin, TX while on the road with Clairo, the independently released track sees Alice joined by David Parry on guitar, Dekel Adin on bass and percussion, and Ziv Yamin on drums and piano.
“I wrote this song on my childhood piano at my mother’s house in one sitting,” shares Alice. “I tapped into my imagination and past experiences of the way I used to idealize someone when I first met them, imagining an unrealistic future and being blind to their faults. Putting someone on a pedestal then makes the fall back to earth even harder, when reality sets in and you realize everything you’ve projected onto them and that they could never live up to that.”

Tara Van is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter who was born to pour her heart out into music. Her genre-eluding sound finds roots in her first loves: soul, folk, pop, and jazz. Tara Van’s life has been steeped in music. Her life sounds like: choral baroque music over breakfast, loitering in the parking lot when the song hits too hard to deny belting out the last notes, or firelit open-mics where guitars seem to appear out of nowhere as loved one’s take turns bearing their soul.
Tara Van’s vibe is: unapologetic day-dreamer. From the age of four, she would often be found up a tree somewhere with a goofy thousand-yard stare, scribbling into her songbook. Her school years were marked by the scars of bullying. She finally found her home in art school, her so-called ‘Island of Lost Toys’, where she would find belonging amongst the other misfits. Tara Van’s work gives glimpses of her internal world. She is generous in her self-disclosure. As a textbook ADHD oversharer, you can feel her weather report: sun-soaked, overcast, stormy etc. She lets herself express the mess. Her approach is as gutsy and bold as it is tender and vulnerable.
Tara Van will be songwriting, singing and performing, no matter who might be there to listen. Songs are her love language. Whether jamming solo, in studio, or collaborating with her band, the music courses through her and she receives it.
She writes her heartbreak, both to settle the score with herself, and for all those whose daydreams have been clouded by hurt. The magical thinking that set her apart early on never left her side. Guided by the poetic cycles of wilting, falling, rooting, rising and blooming, her first studio album ‘RISE’ was born in 2023. Tara Van has a sweet spot for Bubblegum Rock and Dreampop that is fueling her latest studio productions. Her latest single, ‘Sunshine’s Calling’, is an uplifting bass-driven pop-anthem about finding the answers to questions you had long since stopped asking—due for release this spring 2024. Tara Van has been selected by International Pop Overthrow Festival (Liverpool chapter) and is off to Europe spring 2024 to make her international debut at The Cavern Club, legendary home of The Beatles.
She’s inviting you in. Listen to her diary with care. It’s best enjoyed by an open heart.
Fie Eike’s debut album Water explores the existential wisdom of water.
Water is the debut album by Copenhagen based, composer, songwriter & producer Fie Eike. The album explores the existential and emotional wisdom of water for healing and transformation. It is a sonic tale about assuming form as an individual through a deep connection to the nature of water and oceans.
Fie Eike has Norwegian roots but was born and raised in Denmark. The memories of Nordic nature from the Danish forest where she grew up, and the Norwegian fjords and mountain landscapes where she spent her childhood summers, have instilled a deep spiritual connection to nature that serves as a distinct atmospheric backdrop of the album soundscape.
The 12 track album consists of 7 songs, 3 instrumental compositions and 2 vocal works. The soundscape is melodic, atmospheric, soft and powerful with contrasts of darkness and light, melancholy and hope. The compositions are built around Eike’s powerful yet fragile vocal with great emotional depth, piano, electronic textures and rhythms, warped piano sounds and field recordings of water and the ocean from different locations across Denmark.
Within this realm, Fie Eike tells a sonic tale about standing on the shore looking out onto the great depths of the ocean, as a symbol of the subconscious, knowing that the only way to heal, transform and emerge as a free and true expression of oneself, is to venture into the unknown and to explore and inhabit all of our feelings and underlying motivations and fears. To let the water wash away everything that is no longer needed, in order to move from a state of fluidity to assuming form. Exploring the place where true connection, love, light and creation begins.
“Only the water will set me free”, Fie Eike sings acapella on the album’s opening track “Free” and continues a sonic journey into the depths of the water exploring the wide range of emotions like fear, grief and melancholy that are slowly dissolved with surrendering vulnerability and hope before resurfacing and assuming form with the album’s final tracks ‘Omrids’ and ‘Omrids II’. ‘Omrids’ means outline in Danish. In this way, the album chronology explores the process of moving from a state of fluidity to assuming form as an individual, with a clear outline and true expression that connects and shapes us and our surroundings, inspired by how the waves shape the coastline over time, leaving patterns of its outlines in the sand.
Water is fundamental to all life as we know it. According to Fie, water and the oceans offer profound emotional and existential wisdom, as the water and ocean mirrors many of the patterns, dynamics and contrasts that define our lives.
“Water represents both movement and stillness. It is powerful and destructive, yet quiet and healing. It is life giving and revitalizing, yet restrictive, destructive and life-threatening at the same time. It is subtle, yet extreme, weak and fluid, yet powerful and agile, transparent and light, yet muddy and dark, infinite, yet limiting, reserved and hidden, yet curious and transformational, soft and caring, yet violently temperamental, Fie explains and continues: “The waves of the ocean are like a breath constantly shaping and changing its surroundings and the coastline, while instilling balance, peace and anchoring us in the present moment, while reminding us of the cyclical nature of life and our connectedness and dependency on nature and each other.”
According to Fie, we can only heal, transform and assume a clear form and authentic self expression when we dare to dive into the depths to face and make conscious our deepest fears and hidden motivations.
“We must allow ourselves to surrender and be able to hold space for darkness and our most challenging emotions in order to heal and transform. The movements on the surface of the ocean reflect what happens below, just like we as humans affect and impact our surroundings. The ocean teaches us that we cannot only insist on living on the surface nor in the depths alone. We must hold both darkness and light, and dare to really feel and inhabit our full range of emotions including the most difficult ones. Because when we expand our capacity for darkness, we also expand our capacity for light, love and joy. – In the end, there is no light without darkness, and no love without fear”, Fie explains.

Dustin “DAB” Bowie is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter, producer, and singer whose soulful lyrics and evocative compositions have touched millions. Hailing from Decatur, Alabama, DAB has shaped the soundtracks of lives across R&B, rap, hip-hop, and country music, crafting hit songs that echo long after they’re heard. His music is a manifestation of beauty, expression, and story written from both solitude and inspiration. Now, after years of elevating other artists, he’s stepping into the spotlight with his own artist project. DAB’s path is one defined by independence and unbound by limits.
An accomplished and dynamic talent, DAB has penned songs for an impressive roster of artists including Beyoncé, Lucky Daye, Kaytranada, Ari Lennox, Kehlani, Nao, Kiana Ledé, Mahalia, Lecrae, Wizkid, Kyle Dion to name a few. His musical contributions can also be heard across acclaimed film and television projects like Insecure, The Photograph, and The Chi. DAB has earned nine Grammy nominations and in 2023, took home a Grammy win for his contributions to Beyoncé’s Renaissance.
DAB’s journey into music began at his grandmother’s house, where he discovered his love for melodies and rhythms. “My cousins left behind records, and I’d play them on the record player. I fell in love with the vibe, even if I couldn’t remember the words. Songs like Diamonds & Pearls ignited something in me,” he recalls. That spark followed him from Decatur to Atlanta, where he met mentors like Akon and developed connections with artists like Lecrae. The biggest lesson from his early days? “Go for it.” It’s advice that’s become his guiding light.
Inspired by human connection, love, and the colorful emotional spectrum that makes us who we are, DAB crafts songs that explore love, hate, and all the shades in between. His music invites listeners to believe in themselves, to create boldly, and love authentically. DAB approaches his process with an openness to the unexpected. “I start with the beats, and I let the emotions I feel, the colors I imagine, guide the lyrics,” he shares. “Sometimes a melody comes to mind, but it’s the drums, the energy of the music, that shapes where the song will go.” The vibe he curates opens a sonic portal to a captivating musical world that feels sexy, mysterious, and alive.
