French Horn Rebellion (FHR) is a delightfully bizarre indie electro-funk project led by Milwaukee-born brothers Robert and David Perlick-Molinari.
Known for combining dance-punk, French touch and electro-pop sensibilities, FHR has carved a niche in the music world that’s simultaneously fresh and classic.
The story began in 2007, when Robert, then a college student studying French horn performance at Northwestern U, was balancing days filled with Brahms and nights filled with electro beats and house parties. Finding more joy in creating electronic dance music than in classical recitals, he teamed up with his brother David, a talented producer fresh off working on MGMT’s Time to Pretend EP. What started as a playful “rebellion” against the classical world soon grew into a full-fledged movement, blending genres and uplifting dance floors worldwide.
Now, more than a decade in, FHR boasts three full-length albums, numerous EPs, and countless collaborations that have taken their live DJ and band performances across five continents. Their unique sound and ethos have attracted collaborations with some of the most influential names in indie and electronic music, (official remixes for Beyoncé, Sia, Two Door Cinema Club) as well as recognition from major media outlets like The New York Times, Billboard, and The Huffington Post. The LA Weekly lauded them as the kind of band America “needs a million of,” while The Guardian praised their work as “killer dance-pop.”
Based in Paris, SACHA is the musical project of multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer Sacha Arnaud, formerly known as Johnny Longlegs. Following years of creative work and touring with many different artists and bands in the Berlin and Paris scenes, SACHA is now unveiling his debut EP, CHANGE OF HEART, a turning point of his career and the start of a deep search for authenticity, as he delves into themes of family and identity.
Recorded live in Paris alongside three fellow musicians, JESA (Erik Truffaz, Johnny Jane, Motel Club) on guitar and vocals, Remi Klein on guitar, synth and vocals, and Nathan Mollet (Hausmane, Aaron Goldberg) on piano and synth, CHANGE OF HEART showcases four deeply personal tracks. The songwriter shares, “This EP is the first step towards being more in tune with myself and sharing a glimpse of my inner world. It is the embodiment of my quest for authenticity but also the door towards larger sonic exploration and deeper lyrical experimentation.”
Starting off with the ethereal and echoing “Away”, SACHA explores the people you miss—those you never truly had in your life, and those it didn’t work out with, whether they were family, friends, or lovers.
Then there is “Broken Love” which initially started as a song about the person SACHA was with at the time, but through self-reflection, he realized it was actually about himself. Led by a warm, acoustic guitar and SACHA’s raw, honest vocals, “Broken Love” oozes with emotion.

This three-track collection brilliantly fuses Contemporary R&B with Pop, Hip-Hop, and Soul elements, enriched with Afrobeats and Dancehall riddims. “FANTASIA” weaves an atmospheric soundscape that ignites the imagination, stimulates critical thinking, and imparts self-awareness. We drift in “Fantasia” as we learn to adapt, grow, and treasure each day, an ironically phrased song, “Sorry, highlights rhetorical apologies, the infectious groove of “Kundalini Wine” spotlights the awakening of consciousness and creativity. It intertwines deep emotion with insightful lyricism, inviting listeners to embrace their desires and aspirations while celebrating the beauty and serendipity of the subconscious.
“I want you to feel the essence of my words, sound, and strength, Haws expresses. Just as a fantasia allows composers to explore themes and ideas, freely, my creative journey has been shaped by challenges that sparked improvisation and different forms of expression. The transition and multidimensional flow between genres signify development and change. Change is essential to adapt and grow in life, and these songs embody the wisdom I hope to pass on to others.”
London and Tel Aviv-based artist Nadav Sivan embodies multiple talents: singer, songwriter, producer, and performer, and is, undeniably, poised for stardom. His latest single is the moving and gorgeously melodic “Perfume”, accompanied by a full orchestra that captures every layer of emotion, blending the intimacy of the lyrics with the sweeping grandeur of orchestral sounds. “Perfume”, will be released on 13th November 2024.
Nadav Sivan’s journey into music began unexpectedly through music therapy. Nadav was partially deaf until the age of four, after which a major operation restored his hearing. Post-surgery, his parents gifted him a piano, igniting a passion that knew no bounds. He soon became a top-tier classically trained pianist, performing and competing throughout his childhood and teenage years. Since then Nadav, along with his band members Omri and Idi, has been busy performing acclaimed red-hot shows in Berlin, Cannes, and London and has caught the eye of many notable music industry movers and shakers in the process!
It is amazing that so early into his musical career, Nadav has been made the ultimate compliment: his previous single“U So Hot” (which has garnered nearly 150,000 views!) was featured in the Kardashians’ Balenciaga fashion show episode! The track was taken from his debut album released in August 2023 – “Til the Day We Die” – and is a major part of his live set along with exuberant signature dance moves. The track boldly celebrates individual charisma beyond the superficially ‘conventional’ and deftly highlights the importance of LGBTQI community inclusivity which, as a bisexual man, he is a member. His debut album alsoincludes “Us to Stop,” with a beautifullive versionfeaturing a full orchestra, and a second one about Nadav’s story of family, while championing the LGBTQ community. These videos have won numerous film festival awards in the USA, UK, Italy and Sweden.
Beyond his regular work as a musician Nadav is involved in community projects that are very close to his heart. One of these is an incredible project called the Children’s Music Project, a music school initiative brings together children from countless diverse cultures: Jews, Muslims, Christians, children of foreign workers, migrant children and asylum seekers all united through music. Nadav says this work is life affirming: “For me, this project is a genuine and heartfelt testament to the possibility of living in coexistence. I witness this unfolding before my eyes, and I feel it is essential for more people to know about it.” Another project close to Nadav’s heart is ‘Soul Key’, which serves men and women grappling with post-traumatic stress from wars, providing them with music education that helps them cope with their complex lives post trauma.
Looking ahead to his own new music Nadav is very excited to be embarking on an incredible collaboration with renowned rappers Alissa Janine Wollman (Germany/Thailand) and Joelong (Thailand): the fruits of which will be released in January 2025. Additionally, Nadav is busy writing a new album, with new singles slated for release in Spring 2025.

New York-based artist and producer Will Sass returns with his electrifying new single, “Into The Blue” featuring 2x Grammy-winning songwriter and vocalist Kamille. Following the buzz of his debut single “Alicia (feat. Alvin Risk),” Will continues to carve out his place as a boundary-pushing artist destined to leave a lasting mark on the music industry.
Reflecting on the creative process behind the new single, Will shares, “It started with a simple room recording, capturing the atmosphere around me, which is often how I begin. As I added layers, I was inspired by the acid house movement that swept the UK in the late ‘80s and the nostalgic Ibiza vibes of the ‘90s. That blend of energy drove the song’s direction.”
“Into The Blue (feat. Kamille)” pulses with vibrant beats, elevated by Kamille’s soulful and magnetic vocals. Co-written with Kamille—known for her work with Fred Again, Stormzy, and Headie One—the track is an irresistible anthem that pulls listeners into the rhythm, perfect for losing yourself on a crowded dance floor. Together, they’ve crafted a standout track that cements Will’s place as a dynamic artist, producer, and songwriter on the rise.
Reflecting on her collaboration with Will, Kamille shares, “Will is one of the most talented people I’ve ever met and it was such an honor to work with him on ‘Into The Blue.’ Every time I hear it, it feels like an escape, and I hope it does the same for everyone else.”
SMOKE FAIRIES’ themed album ‘Wild Winter’ is set for a highly anticipated reissue in celebration of its 10th anniversary via the band’s own imprint Year Seven Records. Originally released in 2014 exclusively through Rough Trade and as their Album of the Month, ‘Wild Winter’ quickly sold out before a global reissue in 2015.
This winter, ‘Wild Winter’ has been repackaged in new artwork designed by Jessica Davies and available on limited edition “Snowglobe Blizzard” vinyl and CD formats, releasing December 13 2024, to commemorate its ongoing legacy and its unique place in the band’s discography.
‘Wild Winter’ marked a defining moment in Smoke Fairies’ career, praised for its haunting, unconventional take on seasonal music. The album boasts ten tracks including Christmas Without A Kiss, 3 Kings, the Handsome Family cover So Much Wine and the band’s version of Captain Beefheart’s Steal Softly Thru Snow. The album captures the beauty of winter with introspective, atmospheric tracks that explore themes of isolation, holiday traditions, and the darker side of the season. As Clash Music noted, “Smoke Fairies tap into mid-Winter noir…allied with soft, folk-hued vocals and distorted effects.”
Smoke Fairies (Katherine Blamire and Jessica Davies) explained:
“We have a love / hate relationship with winter and the Christmas holiday. When it was suggested Smoke Fairies make a Christmas album the last thing we wanted to do was make a classic, jolly, celebratory album that can only be played once a year. Sometimes winter provides us with a sense of togetherness and love and sometimes it leaves us feeling alienated, cold and playing a glockenspiel alone in a darkened room. It’s part of the year that will always be bittersweet and wild. This was the inspiration behind the record. We got together with our band, played around with the songs a few times then headed off to the studio to record them all live. It’s buzzy and raw and not one tinkling of sleigh bells can be heard.”
LIVE DATES:
19th DECEMBER – HASTINGS – The Piper
20th DECEMBER – LONDON – Signature Brew Haggerston
Tickets are on sale to Smoke Fairies’ Patreons now and on general sale from 10am Friday 15th November

Rising pop artist Melody Federer unveils her new single, “Knocked Up,” a powerful and deeply personal song that explores the unexpected and life-altering experience of becoming a mother. The track, set to resonate with anyone who’s ever faced judgment for their choices, is an anthem of resilience, love, and the surprising beauty found in life’s unpredictable moments.
“Knocked Up” is an honest confession of the artist’s journey to motherhood, capturing the overwhelming feeling of it being “the end of the world” — only for it to transform into one of the most fulfilling chapters of her life. The song speaks to the universal experience of facing life’s toughest challenges, especially for women, and finding strength and joy in the most unexpected of circumstances.
Melody, who has built a reputation for blending pop sensibilities with deep, personal storytelling, is no stranger to navigating life’s most complex emotions through music. With her new track, she aims to break the stigma surrounding unplanned pregnancies and motherhood, encouraging women to embrace their journeys and celebrate their resilience.
Her previous work has already garnered attention for its catchy melodies and introspective lyrics, but “Knocked Up“ is a deeper, more vulnerable chapter in her career. “This song is for anyone who’s ever been told their life is ‘over’ after making a choice they didn’t expect, only to find out that it was the best thing that ever happened to them,” says Melody.
In addition to her music career, Melody is passionate about empowering women and advocating for the freedom to pursue both their dreams and their roles as mothers. As she continues to build a strong fan base, her authenticity and fearlessness have made her a role model for many.
The song is a reflection of the emotional journey that came with unplanned motherhood — from initial fear and uncertainty to the profound love and personal growth that followed. The artist’s vulnerability shines through as she navigates the complex emotions of being a mother while still pursuing her dreams in an ever-changing world.
MVI (Mark Vickness Interconnected) was formed by Mark Vickness as a way to create music that reflects the reality of the interconnected world we live in. Vickness’s musical journey spans a lifetime of exploration and mastery across various genres and cultural traditions. With a foundation in Western classical tradition and experiences ranging from jazz to world music, Vickness and MVI embody the belief that music is a universal language that transcends boundaries.
Along with Vickness’ steel string modern fingerstyle guitar parts, he created his dream ensemble, with the initial group consisting of Mads Tolling, violin; Joseph Hebert, cello; Dan Feiszli, bass and Ty Burhoe, tabla, before eventually adding the virtuoso wind player, Matt Renzi (playing oboe, english horn and saxophone) and the Grammy Award winning percussionist, MB Gordy. Each musician is an accomplished soloist adept at many different types of music. They all bring an astounding breadth and depth of musical understanding and experience. There is almost no style of music, no musical culture or era that they cannot draw from. Vickness shares, “We have a classical trio (violin, cello, oboe), a jazz quartet, percussion instruments from almost every continent and culture, and virtuoso players capable of playing pretty much anything I put in front of them from funk to raga style improvisation, from interwoven counterpoint to rock power chords, from a fast Irish 12/8 romp to an ambient textural musical tapestry and more – they do it all with ease and with an infectious energy that is palpable on every track. I could not be more grateful to be able to work with these remarkable musicians!”

Micah Willis has been immersed in music for as long as he can remember, and it shows in his electrifying talent. Hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, he started out playing harmonica with his Grammy nominated father, Kenny Neal. At just eight, he joined a children’s choir, which sparked his passion for performing. Soon after, he was part of an after-school music program that took him to iconic venues across the country, including Carnegie Hall. Now splitting his time between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles, Micah has carved out a name for himself as a dynamic singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He’s shared the stage with big names like Juicy J, Kid Ink, Tyga, Trish Toledo, and Dirty Loops, showcasing his versatility and flair. Before graduating high school, he already racked up four Downbeat Magazine awards, proving he’s a force to be reckoned with. He also made an appearance on Disney’s hit show Andi Mack. With influences ranging from Miguel and The Weeknd to Fleetwood Mac, Micah seamlessly blends pop, funk, and hip-hop, delivering high-energy performances that leave audiences wanting more.
The latest single from Micah’s diverse catalogue, the Nu-R&B silky and synth “My Mind” (Nov 8th) The track has a pulse and tempo that shows Micah’s influences and originality. The lyrics are raw, vulnerable and honest traits boldy present in his songwriting.
“I feel like most people can relate to the feeling of having one person who you might not have treated well, and hoping they give you one more chance. The chances are slim and most of the time it doesn’t work out. They basically become “the one that got away” for lack of a better term. It is really frustrating when you realize you fucked up and fucked up bad. But, selfishly you just want to at least see them one more time because you think you might be able to change their mind.” – Micah Willis
Rising singer-songwriter Avery Lynch reveals her new single, “Rain,” out today via RECORDS. Following her ‘As Written, Vol. 2’ project, a collection of reimagined fan-favorites and new tracks presented in their most stripped-back form, Avery returns with a track that is both achingly personal and powerfully cinematic.
“Rain” opens with delicate strings and gentle piano, a hauntingly beautiful backdrop that allows Avery’s captivating vocals to shine. As the track swells with sweeping, atmospheric production, it pulls listeners deeper into its emotive current. The lyrics feel as if they’ve been ripped straight from the pages of her diary—each word heavy with heartache and longing.
“I wrote ‘Rain’ about a time when my boyfriend and I were broken up and I was asked on a date by someone else,” Avery explains. “It recounts everything I was experiencing—where I was, what I felt, and what I wanted. It means a lot to me and it’s so cool to see how much it means to others, too.“
Rising dance-pop act Ella Rosa reveals her new single, “STAY 4 LOVE,” out today on Palm Tree Records. Riding the high-energy wave of her previous track, “FUN,” this new release showcases Ella’s unique ability to create daring, boundary-breaking pop anthems.
Blending her sultry R&B vocals with hypnotic beats, “STAY 4 LOVE” invites listeners to lose themselves in its irresistible groove. The track captures the intensity of a night out where nothing goes as planned but hope somehow lingers.
“‘STAY 4 LOVE’ was born out of a night where everything went wrong—card declined, seeing my ex make out with a close friend. Despite it all, I stayed, hoping I’d lock eyes with someone new and maybe make my ex jealous,” says Ella. “This song nails that mix of hope and chaos. It’s fun, it’s easy to dance to, and now, it’s my anthem for knowing when to call it a night.”
Dorian Williams II, known professionally as Skateland, is an American singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Austin, TX. After moving from Las Vegas to pursue a degree at the University of Texas, Williams began writing songs and experimenting with various instruments in his bedroom and Skateland was born. Drawing from a wide variety of musical influences, he combines melancholy lyricism and new wave instrumentation with pop production techniques to create a sound that is equal parts past, present, and future.
In the past year Skateland has made quite a mark on the indie-pop scene. On the live circuit, he’s played the esteemed We Found New Music Showcase in Los Angeles, multiple showcases at SXSW ’24, and opened for indie scene staples like NY-based Strange Ranger and South Korean darlings Say Sue Me. In January his single “Autobahn!”, a highly relatable and important narrative on the highs and lows of love in the modern age, garnered national attention from the likes of Ones to Watch, Earmilk, The Line of Best Fit, The Luna Collective, LADYGUNN, BIRP FM and more. Just a few months later, his single “Postcards!” also caught national attention, landing multiple-week stays on Spotify Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Indie as well as a number of other playlists, opening his thoughtful prose to an entirely new audience.
Now fresh off of a LiveNation show sharing a bill with indie legends Two Door Cinema Club and Day Wave as well as opening for Foster the People to a sold out crowd at Emo’s in Austin for ACL Nights, Skateland released his new EP Joyce Howell, How Are You? The five track collection is a series of vignettes and individual stories that although are vastly different, share a lot of the same undertones and themes that come with being a living human being in this world. He shares, “This is my version of a New Yorker column where I touch on the thoughts and experiences I’ve had this past year, and take some time to reflect on what they all mean in the grand scheme of both my life and life in general. Love, loss, growth, comparison, jealousy, nostalgia, longing, brain rot, being uncomfortable in your own body etc., these are things we all wrestle with daily and this EP is my way of sharing what that’s looked for me this year.”
R E L is a critically acclaimed artist and singer-songwriter known for her soulful, enchanting and often introspective music which she coined, “evocapop”. With a unique blend of emotive lyrics and captivating melodies, R E L’s work resonates with audiences seeking authenticity, depth and magic in modern music. A couple of her most notable songs are “Plateau,” from her debut crowd-funded EP released in 2015 and “Night City,” which she wrote for feature in the video game, Cyberpunk 2077. “Night City” was used in the game trailer and has become a fan favorite across the globe.
R E L has amassed over 30 million streams across platforms, over 15 million Spotify streams, and 6 million Youtube views. Her most recent releases are singles off her forthcoming sophomore album, “Canary” and “Intuition”, a single with indie rock artist, Jonny Stanbeck, called “Blink” and a live recorded EP, R E L in the Meantime, each promising a powerful and transformative experience for listeners. R E L in the Meantime was recorded live, each song in one take, with the artist’s dad accompanying her on guitar.
In a world of ever present technology and A.I. the EP holds a refreshing rawness and natural beauty that inspires. R E L describes her music as evocapop, a genre she came up with combining evocative and pop — music that makes you feel and think. Tastemakers and music lovers have described her sound as indie pop, dream pop, alternative r&b and art pop. Stay tuned for more new music soon, including her sophomore album. The first three songs of the album are out now as the “Medicine” EP – and they offer a look into the world of raw, emotive, enchanting R E L . “Medicine” is a story of self love and healing intimately connected to my own journey of healing and embodiment. The record is about release, softening, angst, embodiment, hope, love. Self love is the foundation of peace. So many of us, myself included, have struggled with or struggle with some form of hating self. If we hate ourselves, how can we really love another?,” shares the artist.
As a child, Camille Schmidt would sit at the kitchen table with the models who posed nude in her parents’ art studio. She occasionally wondered why, at the end of these life drawing sessions, paintings of the female body in its most vulnerable form would be given an impersonal title like “Girl with Dogs #3” or “Woman Sleeping #7.” On her debut album Nude #9, Schmidt renders revealing and personal portraits—of herself, her family, and former and future lovers. Seamlessly blending the sounds of synth-pop, folk, and punk, Schmidt’s debut album is a rapturous portrait of a songwriter realizing her full potential.
The Brooklyn-based singer and songwriter cracked open the folk-rock songbook on her debut EP Good Person, released this past June. While breakout single “Your Game” was a queer kiss-off set to the rollicking sound of alt-country legends like Lucinda Williams and Alison Krauss, there was a soft power in her wistful approach to heartbreak on “Bumblebee Drinks Lavender.” These six songs, which showcased Schmidt’s hallmark ability to balance an innately wry sense of humor with moments of quietly devastating self-reflection, hinted at something greater than the sum of their folk-rock parts.
On Nude #9, despite growing her ensemble, Schmidt sounds more present than ever before, the unflinching honesty in her lyrics front and center. Broadening her palette to include starry-eyed ambient soundscapes and thrumming post-punk rhythms while digging deeper into romance, sexuality, friendship, and her own sense of self, Nude #9 is sincere and whimsical, hilarious and deeply felt.
One listen to “XOXO” reveals an exhilarating new side of Schmidt’s vocals: The song opens with a drum machine and a featherlight synth, before introducing her voice, distorted with vocal processing but somehow stronger for its digital warps. These layers of electronic manipulation are like armor, a protection as she reveals the crevices of her inner thoughts, whether about raising a child with her best friend or the “demon in my room” she faces when she’s all alone. “RIP the girl I was playing,” she sings as the instrumentation behind her starts to twist and double on itself, half-woman, half-machine, as she annihilates the ghosts of her former self.
Rising alt-pop sensation Chloe Star reveals her new single, “Stand The Silence.” Written and recorded at Cloud X Studio in London with producer Ted Loco and co-writers Matilda Cole and lleo, this track showcases a more delicate and introspective side of Chloe’s sound, a contrast to the gritty rock vibes of her recent single “FMIF” and debut EP the bed i lie in.
“Stand The Silence” captures the emotional highs and lows of an artist’s life—the exhilarating rush of touring and performing set against the quiet loneliness that creeps in when the lights go out. With its catchy sound and deeply relatable narrative, “Yourself” is set to strike a chord with listeners.
“’Yourself’ is about the quiet disconnect that can exist between two people, even when they’re physically close—and how easily things slip away when you’re not fully present and when you’re not giving yourself over to something,” Abner says. “We tried to capture those small, unnoticed moments that eventually add up, leaving you wondering what exactly you missed along the way until you realize what you missed wasn’t ‘something’- it was everything.”

Turkish-Italian DJ and producer Carlita releases her highly-anticipated debut album, Sentimental. The album, which is the culmination of Carlita’s lifelong journey through music, is out now via Ninja Tune.
Throughout its 12 tracks, Sentimental taps into Carlita’s passion for Turkish psychedelia and ’90s rock while touching her roots in classical music. This blend of influences, paired with collaborations with Sicilian musician Orofino, super dance/pop producer SG Lewis, and mentor-manager DJ Tennis, fuse into her penchant for house, techno, and indie dance and tell the whole story of Carlita’s musical odyssey, which began at age three when she first learned the piano and has taken her to dance music’s most coveted spaces.
Carlita’s greatest strength as a musician, her natural ability to learn any instrument, permeates the tracklist on Sentimental. Recordings of her playing piano, cello, bass guitar, drums, and more are featured throughout the album and, paired with her knowledge of music theory, give the body of work its timeless, intuitive, and cohesive feel. It’s easy to imagine tracks like “Time,” “The Moment,” and “Trouble Symphony” working beautifully on the dance floor, but there’s also the essence of something deeper, the touch of a musical scholar that pushes Sentimental beyond clubs and festivals, and into backyards, dining rooms, runways, and all places reserved for bringing people together.
