Apple has officially acquired the rights to a series starring Oscar Isaac and Ana de Armas, titled Bananas. The new series will premiere on Apple TV+ sometime soon, no date has been set at this stage. Isaac and Ana de Armas will reportedly serve as executive producers on the series alongside David O. Russell.
Although the plot of the show is unknown, Deadline has cited the series took it’s name from the term banana republics, a common English phrase generally used to refer to unstable and corrupt countries.
