Sony Pictures has announced that they have started developing movie adaptations of Horizon Zero Dawn and Helldivers, based on best-selling PlayStation video games of the same name. This comes after six months since Netflix canceled the development of its series adaptation of Horizon Zero Dawn.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an action role-playing game, set in a post-apocalyptic setting, and centers around a young hunter named Aloy, who lives in a world ruled by machines. She must unravel the mysteries behind her strange world’s past. Helldivers, the Swedish third-person shooter video game is inspired by the cult classic movie Starship Troopers. The game follows the soldiers of the future as they struggle to protect the planet against alien robots and bugs.
