Boldy James, is back and on the Alphabet Highway with V Don.
A true virtuoso, Boldy James is undoubtedly a true anomaly. With each successive project, Boldy’s detailed, complex, and sharp writing and delivery continues to evolve. Not only is Boldy one of the most prolific artists of his generation, he also exemplifies both quality and quantity. A facet that Fader recently examined with “Mr. 227,” as they touched on his rapid-release schedule since 2024.
But that only tells half of the story, for context, take a second to appreciate the run Boldy has been on the last 5-years; critical and fan favorite projects with The Alchemist, Conductor Williams, Harry Fraud, Nicholas Craven, Real Bad Man, Jay Versace, Sterling Toles, Token Of Appreciation with Pro Era’s Chuck Strangers, and most recently Hommage with Antt Beatz. Now you can add V Don’s name to that list as well, as Boldy & V Don have officially released their new collab project, Alphabet Highway, which is now available at all DSP’s.
V Don is also a kindred spirit with Boldy, as he is also very familiar with the quality and quantity mantra, recently revealing that he plans on releasing 10 projects in 2025; including collaborations with Boldy, Rome Streetz, Crimeapple, Eto & Estee Nack among others.
“I had a great time making this album, and it was our first time collaborating as well. We cooked up every joint together, in person–from NYC to Detroit,” V Don commented. “I brought a few different production styles to the table, and Boldy snapped on every joint. We really caught a vibe with this one.”
Boldy James & V Don’s Alphabet Highway is now available via RRC Music Company.

Emerging from the cutting-edge electronic underground scenes of London and Berlin, artist-producer LAMIA is set to make waves with her latest single, “Cobra,”
Known for her raw artistry and rebellious spirit, LAMIA has crafted a track that blends experimental electronic, deconstructed club, and industrial sounds with sharp, satirical lyricism.
“Cobra” showcases LAMIA’s signature style, delivering fierce beats, haunting vocals, and clever commentary. Reflecting on the single, LAMIA says, “Cobra is punk without guitars. I created everything on this track, so all the production, lyrics, and arrangement are a raw and direct expression of my emotion in the sound. It makes fun of the idea that we are not enough, and I think people are fed up with being made to feel this.”
This fiercely original track is the lead single from LAMIA’s upcoming self-produced album, due for release later in 2025. The album promises to push boundaries further, blending alt-hip-hop, phonk, and cinematic soundscapes to create a unique sonic universe.
LAMIA’s music reflects her extraordinary artistic background. A graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London, she has also studied at Leeds Conservatoire and The BRIT School. Her work is informed by her rare form of synesthesia, which allows her to transform music into vivid mental imagery and dreamscapes.
Her artistry extends beyond music into the visual arts, as seen in her co-directed music video for “Paradox (prod. LAMIA),” which has garnered international acclaim. The video was selected for screenings at prestigious film festivals such as the Berlin Music Video Awards and the Berlin Indie Film Festival, where it received accolades for its innovative approach.
LAMIA has delivered standout performances at iconic venues, including Berghain in Berlin and BBC Introducing Live Sessions. Her live shows are described as magnetic and unforgettable, with BBC Introducing’s Alan Raw calling her “one of the best live performers we have ever had.” Her music has received consistent support from BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar, Reprezent Radio, and international platforms like Threads*Berlin and Refuge Worldwide.
“Cobra” is a statement of intent by LAMIA. Combining biting wit with uncompromising sound design, it reflects the perspective of an estranged artist observing society with a dash of tongue-in-cheek U.K. humour.
LAMIA’s unique voice, both musically and artistically, sets her apart as a true innovator. With “Cobra,” she invites listeners to step into her world—a bold, raw, and defiant soundscape that challenges convention and inspires rebellion.

Rising punk band Heart Attack Man has today shared the title track from their forthcoming album. “Joyride The Pale Horse” is out now, along with a brand new music video. Fans can stream the song here, and watch the new music video here.
“This song ended up really feeling like the combination of all the ideas and feelings present throughout the album; hence why it’s the title track, and why it felt fitting to have it be the closer,” shares front man Eric Egan. “Ironically enough, it was the first song written for this album, and in many ways set a lot of the energy into motion. The overarching idea with this one was to feel like a melodramatic addressing of death without actually calling it by name and making different creative allusions to death itself. This album is a litany of musings on life and death, and how there’s an abundance of ways to work through any of them.”

the Tucson-based, alternative rock band Commoner, released their new EP Change of Heart via New Morality Zine. The full EP is available to order on vinyl or stream on all listening platforms.
Change of Heart blends emo, alternative, and post-hardcore elements with a raw, dynamic sound. Their music moves between heavy, cathartic moments and stripped-back vulnerability, striking a balance that feels intense and personal.
It features standout tracks like “Test Your Luck,” capturing a time where lead singer Romin Mattison felt so trapped in his life that he finally tried to escape. “It was a moment in my life that I felt really needed to be put into an art form. It’s the lowest i’ve ever felt in my life but those moments really drive me to do what I do today and pushes me towards a longer goal of living the life I was always meant to live,” Mattison shares.
Just last month they put out the hard-hitting title track “Change of Heart” and an accompanying music video with deep lyrical cuts about straying interpersonal relationships. The accompanying music video is full of shifting, fragmented edits of the band performing to coincide with the theme of people changing around you.
“The process of recording this EP was truly healing for me. We had been sitting on these songs for awhile and getting a little stir crazy with listening to them over and over again,” shared lead singer Romin Mattison. “It was really awesome to hear the final product and be able to listen back to the memories in real time.”

Berlin-based rock band Kadavar has released a new single from their upcoming album, I Just Want To Be A Sound, out May 16 via Clouds Hill. Fans can now stream and watch the music video for “Regeneration”.
“This song celebrates change and new beginnings,” says guitarist Jascha Kreft.“When I joined the band, I had nothing but respect for how eager they were to push their vision forward rather than simply replicating their past work. It feels like we’re just getting started, and I can’t wait to see where we’re headed next.”
“Regeneration” is a powerful indicator of Kadavar’s evolving sound on their upcoming album. The band has undergone a significant transformation, embracing a bold new sonic direction. Over the past 15 years, Kadavar has morphed from retro-psychedelic stoner rockers into boundary-pushing sonic explorers, consistently defying expectations. Their latest shift—marked by a stripped-down, raw intensity—sees them shedding the past and embracing the unknown. With their signature blend of chaos and beauty, the new sound transcends genre and speaks directly to the core of the human experience.

Los Angeles-based Saphir Levi is stepping into a bold new era. Saphir Levi shares, “‘Forget It’ is about the magic of self assurance and seduction. It is warm, witchy, romantic, and most importantly confident. It feels like such an appropriate first chapter in this brand new story of my musical journey.”
Blending sharp, earworm hooks and evocative vocals with a sound that channels the glory days of ’90s alternative rock in the vein of Mazzy Star, Liz Phair and PJ Harvey, all filtered through a modern, forward-thinking lens, “Forget It” is poised to be an instant classic. Produced by NOWHERE2RUN—the powerhouse duo of Jami Morgan and Eric Balderose (both of Code Orange), “Forget It” also arrives via NOWHERE Recordings, the latest joint venture with Pale Chord and Rise Records BMG.
Initially performing under the moniker Saphir, Levi has amassed over 30 million streams globally, captivating audiences with her raw talent and evocative sound. Now, in 2025, she embarks on her next chapter—both sonically and professionally—with the release of her debut single “Forget It,” her first under her full name.

NYC-based power-popgaze band Heaven are excited to release their third full-length album, Dream Aloud, today, April 4, 2025, via Little Cloud Records. The album immediately pulls listeners into a velvet haze of distorted guitars paired with vocalist Matt Sumrow’s storied, raw vocals. Each track takes you through memories that feels both fleeting and eternal, evoking the bittersweet haze of nostalgia and the unfiltered reality of lived experience. Grounded by sirens of feedback, the record is full of emotional exploration tied up in otherworldly instrumentation.
“The record was conceived in the dark depths of the pandemic, when all we could do was stay at home and work on projects and watch the end of the world on TV,” says bandleader Matt Sumrow about the process of creating Dream Aloud. “It was created as a vision of hope and dreams, an escape from the reality we were in. It’s also a deliberate move back to a DIY way of making music. Realizing that facing the apocalypse, you have to rely on yourself to make things happen, make art happen, conjure your love and dreams.”
Alongside the release, the official music video for title track, “Dream Aloud,” premieres today via Paste Magazine. Directed by Jeska Sand and starring Jacqueline Valenti, the video mirrors the record’s layered soundscape with reflective and multi-dimensional visuals. The storyline follows a lone figure wandering the East Village and traveling to Coney Island, capturing moments of discovery, reflection, and dreamlike observation in the city’s shifting light.
On the title track, Sumrow says, “I wrote this song in the wee hours of the morning, recording it into my phone. Honestly, I don’t even remember writing it. I found it amongst a bunch of other song sketches. It was a hushed lullaby at first, but we turned it into a rocker. I guess if I was trying to explain it, lyrically it’s a Tibetan sand mandala, building something beautiful then destroying it.”

In a mostly male genre still known as much for its reticence about contemporary subjects as for its powerful harmonies and virtuosic picking, bluegrass music’s Sister Sadie have stood out ever since the all-female group’s founding more than a dozen years ago. Now, with the release of “Let The Circle Be Broken,” the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award-winning, GRAMMY-nominated ensemble is breaking new ground with a somber yet uplifting exorcism of the generational trauma of domestic abuse.
“Dani Flowers, Erin Enderlin and myself wrote “Let the Circle Be Broken” right after my Dad passed away,” says the group’s co-founder, fiddler Deanie Richardson. “He was an abusive man who verbally, emotionally and sexually abused me for most of my 18 years living at home with him. When I confronted him as an adult, he said that it had been done to him as a child. This song is about that generational trauma and abuse that keeps getting passed down. The continuing of that trauma and abuse stops with me. It doesn’t go any further.”
Richardson’s experience may have provided the initial spark for the song, but once it took shape, each of the women in the group found that its powerful message resonated with her own story and observations, and the result is a quiet, yet firm insistence that all of their voices be heard.
“Deanie, Erin and I wrote this song about generational trauma, which each of us have experienced different levels of,” notes Dani Flowers, whose disarmingly direct voice takes the lead role on the track. “This song is about how we’ve decided that these cycles that have been repeated over and over in our families end with us. I was born into a family of some of the worst types of people to ever exist in this world, and it is sometimes so hard to sit with the fact that you come from a line of people who are capable of doing such awful things to others — to you. While I can’t say the same for many of my family members, I can say for sure that my children will never experience from me what I experienced from my mother and what she experienced from hers and what she experienced from hers.”
