The first trailer for Rabbit Trap has been unveiled.
Rabbit Trap is an upcoming surreal horror film distributed by Magnet Releasing. Marking Bryn Chainey’s feature directorial debut, the movie is set to hit theaters across the United States next month. The trailer features Dev Patel (known for Monkey Man and Slumdog Millionaire) and Rosy McEwen (star of Blue Jean and Apartment 7A) portraying Darcy and Daphne Davenport, a young couple who have recently left London to settle in a remote cottage deep within the Welsh countryside, seeking creative inspiration and artistic renewal, according to the official synopsis.
The film’s plot follows the Davenports as they explore their new surroundings, bringing recording equipment with them. Darcy discovers a mysterious “faerie circle” emitting an unusual, indecipherable sound. This strange event is soon followed by the appearance of an otherworldly child (played by Jade Croot), claiming to live nearby and eager to befriend the couple. As the child becomes a frequent presence in their home—alternately charming and suspicious—hidden tensions and unresolved secrets surface, threatening to cause psychological and spiritual turmoil for the new family.
Chainey not only directed but also wrote the screenplay for Rabbit Trap. The film’s production team includes producers Adrian Politowski, Martin Metz, Alex Ashworth, Sean Marley, Lawrence Inglee, Daniel Noah, Elijah Wood, and Elisa Lleras. The executive producers are Kyle Stroud, Tom Ogden, Dan Hubbard, Benjamin Kramer, Joseph Cavalier, Stephen Kelliher, Sophie Green, Nadia Khamlichi, Nessa McGill, Sierra Garcia, and Steven Demmler.
After premiering at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in January, Rabbit Trap will be released in U.S. theaters on September 12, 2025.
