Netflix has officially added Luke Wilson to the cast of its upcoming golf comedy series, which will be headlined by star Will Ferrell. This collaboration marks another chapter in the ongoing partnership between Wilson and Ferrell, who previously appeared together in comedy films such as Old School (2003), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), and Blades of Glory (2007). According to Variety, Wilson will portray a professional golfer who has previously defeated Ferrell’s character twice in tour championships.
He joins a cast that includes Molly Shannon as Stacy, Chris Parnell as Anton, Katelyn Tarver as Natalie, David Hornsby as Radford, Jimmy Tatro as Lance, and Fortune Feimster as Sam.
The series, currently untitled, is set in the world of professional golf. Will Ferrell will play a fictional golf legend, marking his return to a major TV project after his 2021 Apple TV+ miniseries The Shrink Next Door. Most recently, Ferrell appeared in Prime Video’s romantic comedy You’re Cordially Invited alongside Reese Witherspoon. Besides this golf comedy, he is also attached to star opposite Zac Efron in the upcoming film Judgement Day.
In addition to starring, Ferrell will serve as an executive producer alongside Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor for Gloria Sanchez Productions. The 10-episode series is also executive-produced by Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue for T-Street, as well as Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green, and Andrew Guest.
