Los Angeles-based alt/indie pop singer-songwriter and filmmaker myah shares the horror comedy themed official music video for the emo-tinged track “dissolve” out now. Self-directed and edited, myah puts her own cinematic, comedic spin on taking ownership for her own mistakes and heartbreak.
Last month, the musician shared her debut album, i don’t know what i’m feeling out now. The full project sees myah learn to fall apart only to piece herself back together on a complete, emotional journey of growth and self-discovery.
Myah sees music videos as an opportunity to embellish her own life experiences and turn them into full-blown cinema. Myah shares,“The opening lyric of dissolve is, ‘uh oh, I’ve done it again’, which is me calling myself out for making the same mistakes and then crashing out over them. If my songs tell the story of my life, then the music videos are the heightened versions of those stories. I think that’s why I like directing and editing these so much.”

Huge and chunky, Bones Shredder’s debut album Morbid Little Thing is the sound of everything its mastermind Randy Moore has been through shoved into a blender; all the power-pop melodies, punk spirit, horror imagery and harmonized leads pureed down to a hearty pulp.
Recorded over two weeks at District Recording Studio in San Jose, the album was produced by Portland-based artist Henry Chadwick (with whom Moore has previously collaborated in Teens in Trouble), who infused a strain of mid-century American pop into the mix.
And though it is primarily a solo project, on Morbid Little Thing, Bones Shredder are rounded out by Randy’s brother Dylan Moore on drums, and Sim Castro and Nick O’Connor on keys.

The sweeping folk anthems of Willem James Cowan have been capturing ears across eastern Canada since 2018. Across three releases and various singles, he has explored the uncharted corners of his soul and his sound, sometimes alone with a guitar and sometimes backed by a collective of musicians known as The Friends of the Cove. On the titular track of his 2022 full-length album Mourning in the Morningtime, Cowan sings that he is “out of thoughts and out of rhymes.” This is just one example of the stark vulnerability that characterizes his musical identity, even if it couldn’t be further from the truth. The lush instrumentation of Cowan’s production is always in service of soft-spoken truths and an eye to the future.

Chicago songwriter Delaney Bailey is excited to share her latest single, “Wake Up,” an electronically tinged ballad about changing your ways and waking up from the rut you’re stuck in, available now via AWAL. Crawling with tension and atmospheric production from tinges of auto-tune, today’s release showcases her growing prowess as a performer and storyteller, capturing the depths of emotional lows among sonic highs. Synths trickle in around caressing vocals as Bailey pleads with herself to make a change.
“‘Wake Up’ is a song I wrote about realizing no one is coming to save you,” Delaney Bailey explains. “I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety for most of my life, and living on my own for the first time has highlighted the areas of myself that I now know need a lot of work. I’ve come to realize no one is going to change the voice in your head except for yourself. No amount of encouragement from others will change your brain chemistry. I tend to let myself sit in bouts of depression for much longer than I should, and ‘Wake Up’ is essentially an affirmation that I can and will get myself out of that hole.”
