Magnet Releasing has unveiled the official trailer and poster for Man Finds Tape, an upcoming found footage horror film executive produced by C. Robert Cargill (known for Sinister, Doctor Strange, and The Black Phone). The movie is set to premiere on December 5, in select theaters and on digital platforms.
The official synopsis describes the story: “Lucas Page’s viral YouTube channel features a series of creepy home videos. When he shares surveillance footage of a murder in their hometown with his sister, Lynn, she reluctantly returns to help him investigate the case. As they dig deeper, Lynn uncovers a disturbing secret linked to a decades-old supernatural phenomenon that raises questions about who can be trusted in their town. The arrival of a stranger with destructive motives forces Lynn to confront her family’s involvement in a terrifying legend about a deadly monster haunting Larkin, Texas.”
The trailer shows siblings Lucas and Lynn as they attempt to uncover their family’s connection to a mysterious murder, sparked by Lucas discovering a creepy home video with his name on it. Their investigation exposes dark secrets involving the local reverend and a supernatural occurrence from the past. The footage hints at some terrifying scenes, including the siblings experiencing a supernatural event tied to the town’s ancient legend.
Man Finds Tape is written and directed by Texas-based filmmakers Paul Gandersman and Peter S. Hall, marking their feature debut. The film stars Kelsey Pribilski, William Magnuson, John Gholson, Brian Villalobos, and Nell Kessler. Executive producers include Nate Bolotin, Nick Spicer, Aram Tertzakian, Maxime Cottray, and James Shapiro. The project is produced by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, known for directing Loki Season 2 and Daredevil: Born Again, alongside David Lawson Jr. and Ashley Landavazo.
