Two of pop’s most uplifting voices — MAX and Andy Grammer — have joined forces for a collaboration that feels like pure sunshine. Their new single, “The Thing I Love,” is out, blending emotional honesty with a contagious, feel-good energy that both artists have built their careers on.
This track was co-written by MAX, Jake Torrey (Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth), and Johnny Simpson (OneRepublic, Jonas Brothers), who also produced the track, “The Thing I Love.” The creation is a warm, shimmering ode to the people who make us better. Built around the touching refrain “the thing I love about me is you,” the song celebrates connection in all its forms — romantic, platonic, or otherwise.
Musically, it’s a breezy, radio-ready pop gem, layering finger-picked acoustic guitars, piano, tambourines, and lush harmonies into a bright, intimate soundscape that perfectly showcases the duo’s charismatic vocals.
“‘The Thing I Love’ is a really special song for me,” MAX said. “There’re so many people in my life personally who bring out the best in me and make me better. This song is dedicated to them. Having Andy Grammer, a longtime friend and incredible artist is such an honor and privilege.”

Grammer echoed the sentiment, saying:
“I’ve always admired MAX’s artistry and creative spirit, so having the opportunity to collaborate on this song was truly a joy. It’s such an upbeat song, and we had such a fun time bringing this one to life.”
Multiplatinum recording artist MAX has become one of pop’s most distinct voices, amassing over 3 billion streams worldwide. His breakout hit “Lights Down Low” became a triple-platinum sensation, climbing to No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and dominating the Pop Radio Airplay and Shazam charts.
His 2024 album “LOVE IN STEREO” expanded that legacy with the Platinum-certified hit “Butterflies” featuring Ali Gatie and the fan-favorite “Stupid in Love” with HUH YUNJIN of LE SSERAFIM. The album has topped viral charts in more than 20 countries, and continued MAX’s mission of championing authenticity and self-expression — most recently seen in his viral track “LOVE INSANE” with JAY of ENHYPEN.
Andy Grammer has long been pop’s resident optimist — an artist whose catalog radiates hope, honesty, and emotional resilience. With more than 3 billion streams and nearly 5 million social media followers, he’s built a powerhouse career anchored in connection.
His hits include the 5x Platinum smash “Honey, I’m Good,” 2x Platinum favorites “Keep Your Head Up,” “Fresh Eyes,” and “Don’t Give Up On Me,” along with Platinum singles “Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)” and “Fine By Me.”
His recent deluxe edition of “Monster” (via S-Curve/Hollywood Records) showcases some of his most personal songwriting to date — mandolin-laced indie-pop reflections on family, joy, vulnerability, and self-acceptance.
