Jessie Murph Debuts Short Film “Sex Hysteria The End”

Boundary-pushing rising star Jessie Murph has unveiled “Sex Hysteria The End,” a deeply personal 10-minute short film that serves as a visual complement to the deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed second album, Sex Hysteria. Released via Columbia Records, the film offers an intimate look into her personal journey.

Directed by Logan Rice and co-written by Jessie Murph and Claire Schmitt, the short film builds on the narrative established in Jessie’s “1965” music video. It provides a reflective exploration of the childhood memories and experiences that have shaped her artistry and outlook on life.

Drawing from her own upbringing, “Sex Hysteria The End” delves into how early encounters with love and trauma influence adult relationships. The story unfolds through parallel narratives featuring Jessie and a young fan named Charlotte, illustrating the cycle of mistaking familiarity for comfort and the challenging process of unlearning inherited pain. The accompanying eight new tracks from the Sex Hysteria (Deluxe) album deepen this emotional narrative, creating a powerful audiovisual experience.

Narrated by Jessie herself, the film uses the metaphor of caged birds transforming into butterflies to symbolize her journey from feeling trapped by her past to discovering her ability to change and grow. The visual storytelling emphasizes that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken; it’s about shifting perspective and understanding your story in a new light.

“Sex Hysteria The End” stands as Jessie’s most vulnerable work to date, offering fans rare insight into the experiences behind her raw exploration of sexuality, generational trauma, and self-discovery.

Having recently wrapped the European leg of her Worldwide Hysteria Tour, Jessie is now performing in Australia before heading to New Zealand, where she will conclude the tour on November 22. This year has marked her most extensive live performance schedule yet.

The short film is now available on YouTube, and the Sex Hysteria (Deluxe) album can be streamed on all platforms.
