Paramount+ has officially greenlit a compelling new true crime drama series, “Fear Not,” a six-part limited series set to premiere in 2027. The series will be led by Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway, marking her first major television project. Based on Vanity Fair’s 2023 article “True Crime, True Faith: The Serial Killer and the Texas Mom Who Stopped Him” by Julie Miller, “Fear Not” promises to deliver an intense and gripping storytelling experience.

Compelling True Crime Story with Hollywood Star Power

“Fear Not” chronicles the extraordinary story of serial killer Stephen Morin, who is accused of committing more crimes than infamous serial killers like Ted Bundy. The series focuses on Morin’s kidnapping of Margy Palm, the last woman he abducted. What begins as a deadly captivity evolves into a story of compassion, faith, and resilience. Margy Palm’s unwavering devotion and belief in Morin’s potential for change form the emotional core of this series, which explores themes of faith, courage, and redemption.

Key Details and Production Insights

The series is penned by Bash Doran, known for his work on “Outlaw King” and “Boardwalk Empire,” with Anne Hathaway serving as an executive producer. This project marks Hathaway’s debut in a major TV role following her acclaimed performance in the 2022 series “WeCrashed.” The executive production team includes industry veterans Steve Stark and Stacey Levin of Toluca Pictures, Helen Estabrook for Vanity Fair Studios, Adam Shulman and Johnathan Rice for Somewhere Pictures, along with Margy, Bart, and Noelle Palm.

Paramount+ Executive Support

Jane Wiseman, President of Content at Paramount+, expressed her enthusiasm for the series: “At Paramount+, we are always looking for stories that captivate and entertain our audience, and this series will do exactly that. By grounding this chilling true story in the lived experience of our protagonist, Anne Hathaway brings depth and nuance to the screen that only she can deliver. We are thrilled to collaborate with Anne, Bash, and the rest of this talented team, and we can’t wait for viewers to experience what is sure to be an enthralling limited series.”

Why “Fear Not” Will Be a Must-Watch True Crime Series

With its powerful storytelling, star-studded cast, and compelling real-life events, “Fear Not” is poised to become a must-watch series on Paramount+. Fans of true crime stories, psychological dramas, and character-driven narratives will find this limited series both captivating and thought-provoking. Stay tuned for more updates on “Fear Not” and its upcoming debut in 2027.
