The highly anticipated AnimeJapan 2026, one of the globe’s premier anime events, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the iconic Tokyo Big Sight. Celebrating its 13th edition since debuting in 2014, this year’s event promises unprecedented excitement, expansion, and star-studded activities.

A Record-Breaking Venue and Participation

Building on the success of previous years, AnimeJapan 2026 will be held across the East Exhibition Halls, with significant expansions into the South Exhibition Halls and the Rooftop Exhibition Area. This year’s edition boasts the largest floor space in its history, featuring over 120 participating companies—an all-time high—aiming to deliver an unforgettable experience for attendees.

In 2025, the event drew more than 150,000 visitors, and organizers are expecting even greater turnout this year. The expanded venue and increased participation underscore AnimeJapan’s status as the world’s largest anime festival, serving as a nexus for fans, creators, and industry insiders alike.

Star Power and Special Guests

Returning as AnimeJapan 2026 Ambassadors are Sakurazaka46, who will once again bring their charm and energy to the event, fueling anticipation among fans. Their involvement adds a layer of excitement, including the upcoming awards ceremony for the “Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking 2026,” scheduled for March 4, which promises to highlight the hottest manga titles vying for animation adaptation.

Unveiling the Full Lineup: The AJ Stage

AnimeJapan 2026’s stage lineup was unveiled in the energetic “AJ KICK OFF 2026” video on the official YouTube channel. The event features performances and activities across four dynamic stages: RED, GREEN, BLUE, and WHITE. These stages will showcase everything from beloved fan-favorites to the most anticipated new titles.

Highlights include live performances, exclusive announcements, and engaging talks from a star-studded roster of voice actors, creators, and industry veterans. Notable anime titles like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, JUJUTSU KAISEN, ONE PIECE, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will be featured prominently, offering fans a chance to experience the latest updates and behind-the-scenes insights.

Ticketing Details

Tickets for AnimeJapan 2026 are now on sale, with options for both stage lottery and non-lottery admission. Priced at ¥2,500 per day, tickets grant access to the event’s vibrant activities, merchandise stalls, and more. Children under 12 enjoy free entry but must purchase stage lottery tickets to access the stages.

Tickets are available exclusively online via Trip.com, with sales running from January 16 to February 24 for stage lottery tickets, and from February 25 until the event for general admission. Attendees are advised to purchase early, as tickets are sold while supplies last, and no refunds are offered once purchased.

A Feast for Fans: Activities and Attractions

AnimeJapan 2026 is not just about panels and performances—it’s a celebration of all things anime. The event features a variety of attractions:

  • Official Merchandise: Limited-edition items featuring key visual characters, exclusive collaborations, and unique crafts.
  • Production Works Gallery: A special exhibit themed around “Producers,” highlighting the vital behind-the-scenes roles in animation creation—perhaps even with surprise appearances from producers themselves.
  • Cosplayer’s World: Making its debut as a traveling edition, this area offers photo backdrops, activities, and facilities for cosplayers, including changing rooms and cloakrooms.
  • Food Park: Reinvigorated with ten food stalls, including a collaboration food truck from Animate, ensuring fans can enjoy delicious menus to fuel their festival experience.
  • Digital Stamprally: An interactive event where visitors visit key visual character standees to collect stamps and take photos, encouraging exploration of the entire venue.

AnimeJapan 2026 will host its main public days on March 28 and 29, with additional business days on March 30 and 31 for industry insiders. The event’s location spans multiple halls at Tokyo Big Sight, including the East and South Exhibition Halls and the Rooftop Area.
