Sylvester Stallone and Cole Hauser Collaborate on Exciting New Las Vegas-Themed TV Series

Introducing Blood Aces, a series adaptation of Doug J. Swanson’s acclaimed nonfiction book, Blood Aces: The Wild Ride of Benny Binion, the Texas Gangster Who Created Vegas Poker. The project is a collaboration between Stallone’s Balboa Productions, Hauser’s American Outlaw Entertainment, and MGM Television.

Blood Aces will follow Cole Hauser’s portrayal of Benny Binion, a notorious Fort Worth hustler turned Las Vegas casino mogul who revolutionized poker by founding the World Series of Poker (WSOP). The series promises to explore Binion’s rise from Texas horse trader to influential mob-connected casino owner, revealing his violent tactics, legal manipulations, and lasting impact on modern poker.

Based on the 2014 book by Doug J. Swanson, Blood Aces includes declassified government documents that shed light on Binion’s controversial life. The series aims to depict his complex personality, legendary ambition, and the shady yet fascinating world that helped shape Las Vegas as we know it today.

Stallone expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Doug Swanson’s book captures the incredible life of Benny Binion, a true Western American icon who connected many worlds—glamorous, dangerous, shady, and all intriguing. Executive producers for Blood Aces include Sylvester Stallone and D. Matt Geller of Balboa Productions, Cole Hauser and Randall Batinkoff of American Outlaw Entertainment, along with Jai Stefan. MGM Television’s Head of Scripted Series Lindsay Sloane highlighted the project’s appeal, noting, “This series combines bold, cinematic storytelling with a powerful performance to explore the origins of modern poker and the high-stakes world that shaped it.”
