Apple TV has announced the premiere date for its upcoming thriller series starring Tatiana Maslany, along with the release of new images ahead of the show’s debut. The series, which combines elements of mystery, dark comedy, and crime, features Maslany, known for her role in She-Hulk, as the lead. The show, titled Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, is set to premiere on May 20, 2026. On that day, Apple TV will release the first two episodes, followed by weekly episodes every Wednesday through July 15, 2026. The season comprises ten half-hour episodes.
The platform confirmed the release date on February 4 via X (formerly Twitter), with the message: “#MaximumPleasureGuaranteed. Coming May 20 to Apple TV.” The announcement included first-look images of Maslany as Paula, holding a hockey stick, alongside cast members such as Jake Johnson, Nola Wallace, and Murray Bartlett. The dark comedy thriller centers on Paula, a recently divorced mother played by Maslany, who becomes embroiled in blackmail, murder, and a youth soccer scandal. As Paula investigates a crime she believes she witnessed, her efforts may uncover a deeper conspiracy and help her rebuild her family and her sense of identity. Jake Johnson portrays Paula’s ex-husband, Karl, while Jessy Hodges appears as Mallory, Karl’s sharp-witted new wife and lawyer. Jon Michael Hill plays Detective Baxter, and Nola Wallace is cast as Hazel, Paula and Karl’s young daughter. Additional cast members include Brandon Flynn, Murray Bartlett, Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg, and Charlie Hall. Dolly De Leon and other supporting actors also join the series.
The series was created and written by David J. Rosen, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Director David Gordon Green helms the project and is an executive producer as well. The series was developed by Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon for Genre Films under their first-look deal with Apple TV, along with Bard Dorros for Anonymous Content. The production is a collaboration between Apple Studios and Counterpart Studios.
