INsiders Guide: Jesse McCartney, Missing Words, KYOSi, HYLEEN and Angelique

Critically acclaimed pop artist, Jesse McCartney is thrilled to unveil his tour wrap up video, Jesse McCartney- Best Boss Ever. The short showcases some behind the scenes action from his Resolution Tour in early 2019 “revealing” a side of himself that has never ever been seen before. McCartney’s prior Funny or Die sketch “Jesse McCartney Fights Jesse McCartney” featured him playing multiple roles, as did his cheeky soap-opera-satire music video for his most recent single “Wasted” that premiered exclusively on Rolling Stone

The track “Wasted” reached #5 on the iTunes US Pop chart and #32 on Apple Music, and was also included on the A-List: Pop and Spotify’s It’s A Hit playlist.  The prior release “Better With You”  premiered on Paper Magazine and reached #28 on the Spotify US Viral chart, #42 on the Global viral chart, and the official music video has almost 10 Million views.

The New York-born singer songwriter, producer and actor has had the kind of career that most young artists aspire to. Since the beginning, McCartney has attracted a diehard fan base thanks to many things: his rhythmic, R&B-tinged pop-rock sound, his self-deprecating humor expressed through interviews and on social media, and his ability to write heartfelt, relatable songs that are both personal and universal. His recent music is no different. With multiple platinum-selling tracks and songwriting credit on Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love” under his belt, McCartney is ready to introduce his fans to who he is today. He plans to release more music throughout 2019 and bring his dedicated fans along for the ride.

Moment To Moment is an amalgamation of loss, conquering fears, love, depression, and change. The title track Moment To Moment sums up the vibe and overall feel of the album. Missing Words lead singer James Meays talks about overcoming struggles, lost love and addiction, and changing for a better purpose. Throughout the nine tracks on the album 9 tracks of the album, you are taken on a journey of self-reflection, accompanied by a sea of pulsating synth melodies, lush guitar tones, and hard-hitting percussion. Together with all these elements combined Missing Words paints the picture of someone who can find peace within.

The process of recording Moment To Moment was no easy task, multiple recording sessions, and late nights spent in James’ studio. Mixing and Mastering along with additional production with John Kunkel as well as Israel Medina at John’s studio in Los Angeles. Both John and Israel were both a huge part of the end product of Moment To Moment.

Subsequently, the music video for the title track Moment To Moment directed by Brad A. Kinnan was filmed. Starring the talent of Tristan Peach, And Raevyn Infinity. The video was also written by Peach and perfectly encapsulates the vibe of the song. The music video and song are our first peek into the deeply personal album Moment To Moment.

New York-based artist, KYOSi,  announces her single, “Boo Radley,” from her impassioned new EP, Negative Space, due out June 21, 2019. “Boo Radley” “is urgent and driving, hurtling forward with the isolation and paranoia Boo Radley feels. KYOSi’s lyrics extrapolate that feeling out into the general population, connecting the physical and emotional isolation of Radley to a lack of human connection in the modern world. It’s a fascinating take on the themes of Radley in the novel, and showcases KYOSI’s thoughtful writing.”(Substream Magazine)  The three-track release is a blend of ethereal pop, folk, and nods to jazz. Negative Space takes listeners on a journey through grief and anger by exploring themes ranging from class politics, race and gender issues, to the coercion of capitalism. The EP serves as a political commentary on the current administration and the injustices being faced nationwide.

French soul singer/songwriter Hyleen unveils the stunning visuals for ‘My Queen’, the first single off her upcoming album. Directed by her brother Hadrien Besse, Mathilde Leclerc and shot near Etretat cliffs in France, the music video is a heartwarming tribute to her mother: “This song is dedicated to all the strong, marvelous and beautiful women who make us a better person. Here’s to our moms, our heroines and to my personal Queen that I miss so much.” The song was recorded in Los Angeles at the Greene Room Studio and was mixed by Q Million (Robert Glasper, Quincy Jones, Jill Scott).

Hyleen’s powerful and husky voice has the ability to captivate audiences wherever she goes. Her interest in music stems from childhood: the self-taught musician played the guitar in her brother’s band before starting to write her own songs. She later studied musicology at University before broadening her musical horizons at the National Conservatory in Paris. After honing her skills as a singer-songwriter, vocalist and guitarist, she decided to work on her solo project. Her debut album ‘U & I’ which was released in 2014, includes an amazing line up of guests such as Omar, Frank McComb and Chris Dave (Adele, Erykah Badu) on drums. Following this release, Hyleen decided to travel around the world to introduce her music to new audiences. She has had the opportunity to perform in New York, Paris and Japan. She has also supported artists such as Jarrod Lawson and Anthony David.

The songstress’ second album ‘B-side’ was released in 2018. After travelling to India and Polynesia to promote the record, Hyleen was eager to come back to work on her new album. She adds “Writing all this new material has truly been like therapy for me… Full of emotions, I talk about all those memories we have with someone we love. How important it is to cherish these precious times before it’s too late, but even more important, how strong and positive we can stay, making them live through our own story. “

In order to grow, we have to feel uncomfortable. We have to push ourselves out of our personal realm of comfort. It’s how you find your wings and fly. “Wings (Freestyle)” is the brand new single from artist Angelique and was inspired by the toxic relationships that she had witnessed both with her friends and herself. No matter if they’re platonic or romantic, relationships can all be difficult and painful. This song takes you through the stages of breaking free. It is the stages of grief as you come into your own. On the single Angelique said; “Recording this song was very emotional, taking a lot out of me. I drew from various situations – moments where I let other people take more from me than I should have. I brought all of that anger and hurt into the booth, using the recording process as a way to air my true feelings and help myself heal. It was very therapeutic. After the session had wrapped up, I felt almost euphoric. It was like all this weight I had been carrying was lifted. That’s also exactly what I want for you”.
