After signing on for a new miniseries called ‘Trust’ at HBO, Kate Winslet is strengthening her partnership with HBO by signing on for another limited series called ‘The Palace’. According to Deadline, Winslet is set to portray the leading role in the authoritarian drama for HBO. She is reported to also be executive producing the series.
‘The Palace’ will tell the story of one year within the walls of the palace of an authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel. The miniseries will be executive produced and written by the team behind the successful show ‘Succession’.
“We are honored to be working with this incredibly talented group of filmmakers on The Palace,” EVP of HBO Programming Francesca Orsi said in a statement. “The notion that Kate Winslet and Stephen Frears, two of our industry’s leading lights, who – remarkably – have never collaborated before now, are joining forces to bring Will Tracy’s wildly original, prescient, and dazzling scripts to life at HBO is a dream come true for us.”
