‘Moments Remixes’ began from a conversation with Jlin. We did an interview together for Talkhouse in fall of 2019, in season with the original Moments release on Unseen Worlds. Her poignant and effusive dialogue sparked the inspiration for us to do a remix together. That organically evolved into a full project idea. Xiu Xiu did the second remix in January 2020, and before things continued further – the pandemic was upon us. During the course of the pandemic, it evolved more, and organically became a more focused project for the isolation and lack of in-person collaborative environments/performance halls. All of but one remix were completed by 2021, and then refined and curated further over the following (four) years. The highlighted dialogue across the album is how these sparse, melodic minimalism of piano and vibraphone could manifest in a diversity of experimental sub-genres: electronica, IDM, avant-rock, drone/ambient. The careful curation and illustrative collaborators elicit the transportive ‘new moments’ and permeable qualities of the core compositions, that discover uncharted life in this project. Bursting forth from Los Angeles, Kaya Stewart and Max Mercier today make their first release as the edgy pop duo, Kiss Bang, with “Horrors Of Your Hometown.” They also announce that their debut EP of the same title will be available on March 15 via Bay Street Records, the label founded by Dave Stewart of Eurythmics. Taking the winding route to avoid the modern pop formulas and squeaky clean production often associated with their genre at all costs, Kiss Bang makes timeless earworms that could have been written in 1985 or 2050.
After meeting by chance, Stewart and Mercier were immediately drawn to create together. Stewart shares, “From the minute we met we knew that we were musically kindred spirits. I think we both have qualities in our own music that make us so individual and unique, and working together created a sound that neither of us had ever heard before, but felt so true to who we were.”
Mercier elaborates that, “Kiss Bang is the biggest blessing for me as it allows me to create outside of the strict mental confines I set for myself when making music. Kaya’s music taste spans all genres and eras just like mine and she has an incredible ability to extract different sounds out of me. It’s super inspiring.”
Denver-based rock band WAKE ME have today announced their new single “Finger On The Trigger,” set to be released on March 15. Pre-save the song now at https://wakemeofficial.com/fott
Produced by The Used guitarist Joey Bradford, “Finger On The Trigger” marks the beginning of a new era for WAKE ME. “We had been exploring a new sound for our band with the combination of Collin at lead vocals and working with a new producer Joey Bradford of The Used,” shares the band on the new track. “This is one of the songs we ended up being most excited about not only because we thought it was great, but it was also very different than what we had been doing and perhaps not exactly what other bands were aiming for.”
WAKE ME have been swinging out of the gates since working with platinum super producer Erik Ron (Godsmack, Staind, Bush) in 2018 and have been invited to share the stage with some of rock’s biggest names including Avenged Sevenfold, Shinedown, Kim Dracula, Five Finger Death Punch, Pop Evil, Skillet, Of Mice and Men, Puddle of Mudd, Sevendust, August Burns Red, and more. In that same timeframe, the band has accumulated over 15 million streams on Spotify alone and has been featured on multiple rock and metal editorial playlists. Their early-band rock/metal cover of Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose” has garnered over 7 million streams and named as one of the “greatest rock covers of the last two decades” by Guitar World Magazine… all of this as an independent band.
Friedberg return with new single ‘Hello’, via Clouds Hill, stream here. The track is the first installment of their debut album, due for release in August 2024.
Loaded with infectious guitar hooks layered between distortions of front woman Anna Friedberg’s mesmerizing vocals, ‘Hello’ is deliciously vibrant. Enveloping an aura which bends from sultry to energetic, the track is packed with creative versatility – evidence that Friedberg are ones to watch.
The four-piece Friedberg are gearing up for a busy year ahead, including performances at SXSW, with sets confirmed at the British Music Embassy and End Of The Trail showcases next month in Austin, Texas, as well as a performance at this year’s Great Escape Festival. The band have also been invited to support rising Black Country duo Big Special in May.
Formed in 2019 by the Austrian-born, London/Berlin-based Anna Friedberg (writer, vocals, guitar, cowbells and percussion), the line up is completed by Emily Linden (guitar, vocals), Cheryl Pinero (bass, vocals) and Laura Williams (drums). Friedberg’s early success came from single ‘Go Wild’ – a runaway hit that featured on the FIFA 2020 soundtrack, and in BBC’s Normal People – and their stellar debut EP ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah’, a razor-sharp collection of belters designed for the live stage.
Bringing together their distinctive own-brand of alternative pop with slices of dance punk and huge pop-leaning hooks, Friedberg’s lyrics in ‘Hello’ skirt the edges of surrealism: “Hello’ is about being in the mind of a stranger, and seeing the world through their eyes and getting a holiday from my own mind basically. To see the world through someone else’s mind and have different fears and different views, and just getting rid of my own thoughts.”
Canada-based artist Fairlane, renowned for his mesmerizing blend of DJ sets and guitar performances, is set to release his groundbreaking EP, Genesis, via Monstercat on April 5, 2024. This ambitious project is not just an EP; it’s an odyssey that marks the beginning of a new chapter in Fairlane’s career, blending rock and electronic music to create a fusion that’s both innovative and nostalgic.
The Genesis EP features collaborations that highlight the project’s diversity and innovation. “Take It Back” with Silverstein blends emotive synths and dynamic guitar notes into an electrifying anthem. “Not My Night” with Point North merges modern electronic production with early 2000s punk rock vibes, appealing to a wide audience spectrum.
Additional collaborations with Spaceman Zack on “Only The Good Die Young,” RILEY on “Someone Just Like You,” and Wind Walkers on “Panic Room” further showcase Fairlane’s genre-blending prowess, promising an engaging listening experience for all.
Fairlane shares his thoughts on the EP: “The ‘Genesis’ EP, as the name indicates, really represents the beginning of a new chapter for the Fairlane project. Up until now, I always felt that there was a sort of ambiguity to what my sound really was; all 5 tracks on this EP do a perfect job of representing where I want the future of my brand to go, both sonically and visually.”
Fairlane’s career highlights include official remixes for stars like Rihanna and Ava Max, collaborations with artists such as SLANDER and Vanic, and hundreds of millions of streams. His ability to blend live guitar with electronic production has distinguished him in the music scene, with performances at major festivals and venues worldwide.
Fairlane continues, “Each song exists in its own unique world, while still feeling cohesive with the rest of the tracklist. I was particularly careful about selecting my collaborators as well. Each and every artist who worked on this EP with me excels in their own lane; a key reason I was able to bring out such incredible performances from every artist.”
Detroit-born singer and actress Ryan Destiny shares official music video for “How Your Hands Feel” via November Yellow. Watch HERE. Listen HERE. Produced by Trackside.
In Ryan’s own words: “This is a world I’ve seen since I recorded the song. A different step into my womanhood and sensuality. Something that feels true to me with a splash of a side I haven’t shown before.”
Ryan Destiny’s ‘How Your Hands Feel’ melds soulful R&B with modern pop. It’s an emotional journey through the nuances of connection and touch. Her raw, powerful vocals blend with infectious beats, showcasing her artistic evolution. The song resonates with deep, universal emotions, making it more than just a track – it’s a heartfelt experience. As Ryan’s star rises, this song marks a significant milestone in her burgeoning career.
On the track she explains, “I wanted to step into my sensual side. The song is sexy but vulnerable as well. Missing someone and having to let them know the way they made you feel is not always easy but this song feels like the confident and forward version of that mood. A good double back anthem.”
This follows the release of her previous singles “Doctor, My Eyes (cover),” “Lie Like That” and “How Many,” more to follow from Ryan this upcoming spring.
The Eighty Six Seas return to the scene with “Ghost in the Cityscape”. An emotional display of contemporary folktronica, the track is now available on most streaming services.
More of a slow burner than its predecessor “Lonely Afternoon”, “Ghost in the Cityscape” signifies the second single from the forthcoming debut Scenes From An Art Heist. Recorded with collaborators David Knox, Chris Anthony, and Dave Anthony, the track came to fruition at The Record Co, with finishing touches being executed in Nick Stevens of The Eighty Six Seas’ Brooklyn apartment.
Sonically, “Ghost in the Cityscape” has a flair and chord progression adjacent to Death Cab For Cutie’s “Transatlanticism”. Throughout the tune, The Eighty Six Seas offer insight on the uncomfortable feelings associated with being perceived by an ex, only to be thoroughly enhanced by frontman Nick Stevens’ calm, yet syrupy vocals.
When speaking about the inspiration behind “Ghost in the Cityscape” Nick Stevens writes:
“Ghost in the Cityscape is a title that I had kicking around for something like 10 years but hadn’t found the right thing to do with it. It’s rooted in the perpetual fear of running into someone that spurned you or hurt you, even though the odds of such a meeting are very small in a city the size of New York or Boston (where I lived at the time).”
In the music video, we see The Eighty Six Seas frontman Nick Stevens pondering throughout what appears to be an empty apartment. Perhaps this imagery serves as a metaphor for the track’s themes of isolation and loneliness.

Susan O’Neill today release’s her new single ‘Drive’, marking Susan’s first new music since her ‘Now You See It’ EP which scooped the ‘Best Original Folk Song’ award for its namesake track at the RTE 1 Folk awards in 2023.
Engineered and produced by Christian Best in Cork, written with fellow bandmate brothers Cillian and Lorcan Byrne, and mixed by Grammy award winning engineer Cian Riordan (St. Vincent, Lana Del Rey, Sleater Skinny). ‘Drive’ is a breezy indie-folk earworm, a poetic flow of lyrically rich contradictions, with Susan’s soulful husky vocals bringing the listener on a journey of all the highs and lows of the human condition.
Of the song Susan said: “It fell out of my mouth and onto the page in one brief sitting. I’m trying to be more honest with myself. If I can know my own chaos, chill with it, wear it like a parade of paradoxes this would be me trying that on.”
Accompanied by a self-directed and filmed video for ‘Drive’, Susan teamed up again with longtime collaborator Christopher Luke who edited this charming video together.
WATCH HERE:
Since the release of the critically acclaimed collaboration album with Mick Flannery ‘In The Game’, Susan has toured extensively across Europe and North America, performing both with Mick and solo on headline tours, festival stages, and as an invited guest to an array of artists including Phoebe Bridgers, Valerie June and The Teskey Brothers.
Susan has already announced some spring and summer shows, including the Haldern Pop Festival in Germany, where she will play a mainstage set with the Stargaze Orchestra, ‘Zermatt Unplugged’ festival in Switzerland and ‘Live at The Marquee’ in Cork. More dates to be announced very soon.

acclaimed Irish indie rock band Pillow Queens share their latest track and official video for 90s-soft rock-inspired “Like A Lesson” out everywhere now. The band’s triumphant third studio album Name Your Sorrow is due out April 19 and available for pre-order now. This June, Pillow Queens will perform live across the UK and will support Snow Patrol in Limerick, IR on July 12 ahead of their biggest show to date on July 13 at Dublin, Ireland’s Iveagh Gardens. Tickets are on sale now for all shows via pillowqueens.com/live.
Out today, the guitar-driven “Like A Lesson” explores longing for intimacy and a desire for closeness as well as the fears and insecurities that come with sharing one’s self. On the raw subject matter, the band says the track dives into, “The notion of finding safety and comfort in the presence of love of limerence is emphasized, contrasting with the paralyzing fear of making mistakes or ruining your life or someone else’s. It delves into the feeling of being a lesson for someone, a side character in someone else’s story.” Over a hooky guitar riff, the track swells until the backing instruments fade for a moment and lead vocalist, bassist and guitarist Pamela Connolly belts, “I don’t wanna ruin my life/But I wanna go home with you.” Here, the band illustrates the thin line between fear and desire and the risk involved in vulnerability.
It slowly became a blend of each band member’s music taste and is now a favorite to play live. The band continues, “Sonically, we were influenced by a range of artists from Blur and REM to Seminsonic, New Radicals, and Squeeze. It began as a song we felt had a strong country music influence and morphed into something that referenced a wide range of our musical tastes. It’s the 90s soft rock song on the album.”

Punk rock act Winona Fighter is excited to announce that they’ve signed with Rise Records. Alongside the announcement, the band has shared their new single and music video, “I’m In The Market To Please No One”, an empowering punk rock anthem is all about standing up for yourself and no longer tolerating toxic relationships. The song first premiered on earlier this week on BBC Radio One Rock Show. Fans can stream it now, here and check out the video here.
Front-woman Chloe Kinnon shares, “It doesn’t take a genius to hear that ‘I’M IN THE MARKET TO PLEASE NO ONE’ came from a place of anger. However, it means so much more than that. I had recently found an unsent letter to a boy I had known in college, the type of boy you wish you had never met. In this letter, I sounded so powerless. It made me feel gross, but it also made me realize I have the opportunity to get how I really feel, after years of growth, all out on paper. Thus IM IN THE MARKET was born.”
She continues: “Did you know one in three young, excited, full of potential women go to college and experience dating abuse of some sort? I wrote this song for them. I wrote it for my friends, my family, and even myself. More than it coming from a place of anger, it comes from a place of power. It comes from a place of wanting to start a conversation. I want people to be able to scream this song, mosh to this song, feel like they can gain control of their narrative.”

Turkish superstar DJ/producer Mahmut Orhan inches closer to the release of his highly-anticipated debut album, Pangea, with the gritty new single “Kettle’s Up,” featuring Botan, out now via Ulta Records. The track marks the second time Orhan and Botan have collaborated, following their 2022 single on Ultra Records, “Backwards.”
Botan’s gravelly vocals unlock a voracious side of Mahmut’s production, which sounds heavier than ever on “Kettle’s Up,” featuring razor-sharp synth stabs, colossal build-ups, and enough energy to summon all souls in earshot to the dancefloor. While much of Pangea is built around the intertwining of dance music and traditional, global instrumentation, this new single is strictly built to do damage on the massive stages he’ll encounter this year.
To start 2024, Orhan has embarked on an expansive world tour. With such a versatile concoction of sounds at his disposal, he’s able to perform in all corners of the world, up and down the Americas from Canada to Argentina and Central Europe to Saudi Arabia. As the weather warms up for festival season, Orhan will debut at several renowned music festivals, such as Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, and Coachella, where he’ll perform over both weekends at the heralded Yuma Tent.
On March 22, Orhan will deliver Pangea, his debut album that will continue his mission to harness the universal power of music by blending intercontinental and intercultural sounds.
SLASH, the iconic, GRAMMY®-winning guitarist and songwriter, has announced his highly anticipated sixth solo album titled Orgy of the Damned, will be released on May 17 via Gibson Records and is available to pre-order now HERE. A collection of 12 dynamic songs that shakes up and revitalizes blues classics with a stripped-down, instinctive approach, SLASH’s new album, Orgy of the Damned, creates a singular expression that pays homage to the blues.
The first single “Killing Floor,”-which features Brian Johnson of AC/DC on vocals, and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith on harmonica-is an electrifying, raucous and gleefully unbridled take on Howlin’ Wolf’s 1964 Chicago blues standard; stream “Killing Floor,” out today HERE.
Watch/share the new video for “Killing Floor,” which offers a first look at SLASH and his blues band Johnny Griparic (bass), Teddy Andreadis (keyboards), Michael Jerome (drums), and Tash Neal (vocals/guitar), recording the song in the studio HERE.
“Future Ahead” sees Hugo Cottu’s nostalgic hooky vocals blend with retro-leaning hypnotic synth, light strumming and palpable grooves. Talking about love in an unconventional way, the producer insists on the importance of holding on to life and not giving up. He explains: “”Future Ahead” is a message to someone close to me who’s been struggling with mental health issues. It’s my way of encouraging them to persevere, a reminder that brighter days lie ahead and time has a way of healing all wounds.”
Following the release of his debut, Hugo spent the past years producing for the likes of Windmill rising band Velvetine or celestial groove outfit YUUF, went on tour with LEAP and Sion Hill and is about to take off the road, on the guitar for Groove Armada’s former lead singer Saint Saviour’s tour this spring. The London date is at The Islington Assembly Hall, opening for Billy Ryder-Jones at on 20th March 2024.
