The Close to You, release date for the upcoming Elliot Page and Hillary Baack-led drama movie has been revealed. The movie will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, and they arrive into theatres August 16. It was written and directed by Dominic Savage from a story by Savage and Elliot Page.
“Sam (Elliot Page) hasn’t been home since his transition,” reads the film‘s synopsis. “After four years in Toronto, he takes a long-dreaded trip back to his hometown for his father’s birthday. Once there, he confronts unresolved wounds and reconnects with an old flame.”
