Warner Bros. has officially unveiled details about a planned Big Bang Theory spin-off series featuring the character of Stuart. The series will be led by Kevin Sussman, who reprises his role as comic book store owner Stuart Bloom. Alongside Sussman, the series will also star returning Big Bang Theory cast Lauren Lapkus as Denise, Brian Posehn as Bert, and John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke.
The show is set to follow Bloom who is “tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon,” reads the show’s logline. “Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from “The Big Bang Theory.” As the title implies, things don’t go well.”
The series is written and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady, with Warner Bros. Television serving as producer.
