Apple TV+ isn’t letting go of one of its biggest successes anytime soon. The streamer announced that The Morning Show has been renewed for a fifth season, just ahead of the debut of its star-studded fourth installment on September 17, 2025.
The Emmy, SAG, and Critics Choice-winning drama remains anchored by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who also executive produce alongside showrunner Charlotte Stoudt and director Mimi Leder. Together, they’ve turned the show into one of Apple TV+’s flagship series — equal parts glossy prestige drama and razor-sharp cultural commentary.
“’The Morning Show’ has been a standout from the very start, debuting as one of the flagship series on Apple TV+,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+. “It’s been incredibly rewarding to see it not only entertain but also resonate with audiences worldwide. Thanks to the outstanding cast and creative team — led by Jennifer, Reese, Charlotte and Mimi — ‘The Morning Show’ continues to deliver addictively entertaining and provocative stories that we’ve all come to love. We’re excited for viewers to experience the next chapter of this Emmy-winning drama.”
Season four drops audiences back into the world of UBA in spring 2024, nearly two years after the events of season three. The newly merged UBA-NBN newsroom is now juggling corporate agendas, hidden motives, and the slippery concept of truth in a fractured America. As the show dives into an era of deepfakes, conspiracies, and cover-ups, it asks the most pressing questions: who can you trust, and how do you know what’s real?

Alongside Aniston and Witherspoon, the returning ensemble includes two-time Emmy winner Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Nicole Beharie, and Emmy winner Jon Hamm. The new season also brings in heavy-hitters Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, Boyd Holbrook, and Academy Award winners Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons.
Behind the scenes, the series continues to be driven by Stoudt and Leder, with Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer producing through MediaRes, Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter through Hello Sunshine, and Aniston and Kristin Hahn via Echo Films.
Over its run, The Morning Show has built an impressive track record with critics and awards voters alike. Season three alone racked up 16 Emmy nominations, landed Crudup his second Emmy and a Critics Choice win for his turn as Cory Ellison, and earned a spot on AFI’s Top 10 TV Programs of 2023. Earlier seasons brought honors for Aniston (SAG Award) and nominations for Witherspoon and Marcia Gay Harden, while Mimi Leder picked up Emmy nods for directing both the season one and season three finales.
Since Apple TV+ launched in 2019, the service has quickly established itself as a major player in prestige TV, boasting multi-Emmy winner Ted Lasso and Oscar Best Picture champ CODA among its crown jewels. With a fifth season already greenlit, The Morning Show remains one of the strongest pillars in Apple’s lineup—and tomorrow’s premiere promises even more reasons why.
