Josh Brolin, fresh off his success with the horror film Weapons, has joined Wade Eastwood’s upcoming action-comedy project. This marks Eastwood’s feature directorial debut. He is known for his work as a second unit director and stunt coordinator on major films such as Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and Jumanji: The Next Level.
Brolin will star in Mister, Eastwood’s first film as a director, and will also serve as a producer through Brolin Productions, according to Deadline. The production is also backed by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road Films, whose credits include the John Wick series, the Sicario films, and the upcoming 2025 release Fight or Flight. The screenplay was developed by Nicki Cortese and Nick Inglis.
The film’s logline describes Mister as following a man (played by Brolin) who wakes up in a strange house covered in blood and gradually uncovers his true identity while fending off contract killers from his past — including former lovers and his best friend. As he tries to escape, he teams up with his estranged daughter, who is also involved in the family business. Their survival depends on mending their fractured relationship.
As of now, Mister does not have a confirmed release date.
