Disney+ has revealed the details for the upcoming MCU special featuring Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Titled A Marvel Television Special Presentation: The Punisher: One Last Kill, the program is set to premiere on Disney+ on May 12, coinciding with the finale of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. This special is part of the MCU’s Phase Six lineup.
The Punisher: One Last Kill is expected to have a runtime of approximately 60 minutes, making it longer than other recent MCU specials such as Werewolf by Night (52 minutes) and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (42 minutes). Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Frank Castle, the vigilante known as The Punisher. Supporting roles will be played by Jason R. Moore and Roe Rancell. Bernthal co-wrote the special with Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also directs; the duo previously collaborated on King Richard and the HBO series We Own This City.
The project is executive produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Brad Winderbaum.
Bernthal originally portrayed Frank Castle in the Netflix series Daredevil and later starred in the solo The Punisher series, which ran for two seasons. After a six-year break, Bernthal returned to the role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1. However, he is not confirmed to appear in Season 2, premiering on March 24, 2026, and it’s uncertain if he will return for Season 3.
Additionally, Bernthal is featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where The Punisher is shown interacting with Spider-Man in the first trailer. The film is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.
