Following the tremendous success of Scream 7, the iconic horror franchise is moving forward with Scream 8. The upcoming installment is already in the works, with a dedicated writing team in place. According to a recent report from Deadline, Spyglass is actively developing the next chapter in the Scream series. The project is progressing smoothly, with the studio bringing on the talented duo of Lilla and Nora Zuckerman to pen the screenplay.
The Zuckerman sisters are known for their recent work as showrunners of Peacock’s popular series Poker Face, starring Natasha Lyonne. They have an extensive background in television writing, contributing to acclaimed shows such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, and Fringe.
The announcement of a new Scream film isn’t surprising given the franchise’s recent momentum. Scream 7, released earlier this year, became the most successful entry in the series, grossing over $200 million worldwide—marking a first for the franchise. The film was directed by Kevin Williamson, who penned the scripts for the original Scream and Scream 4. He also co-wrote Scream 7 alongside Guy Busick.
